A bigNO to the notes I just saw about publish 8 and the droid ability to 'bark' information aboutthe location of playervendors. There's enough spam already injust about every major city without actively encouraging players to make even more of it with droids.

How about something like a terminal in each city where you can pay a small amount of money to be listed with a small description of your shop or something. Kinda like a galctic yellow pages.

But please no barking spam!!

Barking spam does suck. It just slows down the game (spam=LAG) and clutters the screen so other conversations are obscured.

I believe that advertising is necessary - it is hard to find people with services you need right now. The above suggestion for a galactic "yellow pages" is brillant! No spam and specialists easy to find. A big plus is that it would also generate more business for said specialists who were listed!

No to spam!

Yes to useful advertising!

Gods no..

If you give the robots the ability to SPAM us further, then PLEASE let us ignore the [censored] things... we don't need MORE spam.... or better yet, LET them spam us, but if they spam more than once every 2-3 minutes make it so that we can attack and destroy them... take a few down and their masters will learn to be polite..

How exactly are these combat modules going to make my droids usefull? Those who can afford to buy a quality droid are the same folks who have elite combat professions and DON'T NEED A DROID. Those who could really use them, i.e. newBs and those working through the marksman or brawler tree, can't afford them. I know for a fact that most people don't understand the costs, both tangible and intangible of making these droids; however, it is becoming evident that the Devs do not fathom this as well.

TH, do me a favor, please. Go to http://www.undeadfish.com/droids.phpand look at the prices. Some of those are even underpriced, especially if you take into account the quality andrarityof the resources used and any experimentation (not that experimenting matters for droids).

How about just changing the name from Droid Invasion, There is no invasion, its just a nerf to probots. But entertainers will get new droids with disco lights WOOOOHOOOO.

Lame Seriously lame

Come on guys is this really the best you have to offer?

Thunder what in the heck is going on behind the scenes?

You have to be a tad more creative, how about you guys take a feild trip to a Kinder Garden and get some decent ideas?

Is it your goal to drive people from the game or actually listen to the people that payed you to play this game?

Do you think you can survive the next game coming out with grandious ideas like flashing lights on an r2?

Well best of luck on your new career, since it really seems this one wont be lasting to long with the directions your taking this game.

I don't understand. The wallpaper has the super battle droids we saw in Ep 2. The wallpaper was essentially an advertisment of an upcoming patch, yet as far as I know, we have no new droid models in the game. We don't even have the regular old battle droid, just some changes to the crappy ol probot. I feel really ripped off here. I mean, why did you guys even show us those other droids, if we can't have them?

Not that all these publishes aren't useful , but I use to be able to pull out my droid AND my pet. What ever happened to this?? I am a master DE and have been for quite some time...but I do other things in-game like getting faction points and now I almost never do because I have nothing to fight with as a single player.

CH's can pull out a pet and a droid...or a more than 1 pet. Why cant I. Seems a smidgeon unfair Especially considering I can only use a cl10 droid or a cl10 pet.

Could someone explain this to me? I've been waiting for something more in the DE field to match CH.

Is this wrong??

sorry if this has been mentioned .....but i am hoping for new models of droid's ie: Droideka's. Like come on there is nothing menacing about a probot and hey if it cant be stronger then 10cl fine with me we need some more choices. (sorry of any improper spelling)

Here's someideas for publish 8/9/10/etc (if you gotta trickle out new chassis like new mounts, 1 or 2 every few publishes, that's fine, just tell us they're coming, k?)

Alot of these ideas are NERFS in part. But mainly to DE. (in fact only one that isn't a DE only nerf involves helping smugglers get a revamp of Underworld they been wanting). But if we want devs to increase droid's abilities and such, we're gonna have to give someplace. So, how about making certain chassis better at some things, and useless at others?

Look at the Jawa Sadcrawler scene, get stills, etc. I'm sure Lucasarts could provide you with large, high-quality photos of the models and props from this scene. Also the scene of the Jawas selling them. Some of these are already in game-

The Bug-Eyed droid (Deathstar Droid, the action figure was called way back)

The creepy harlequin-looking droid, with the pointy nose and big, creepy grin. Come on..got to admit that thing as a combat droid wouldn't give you flashbacks everytime you went to a circus? hehe. It's just too creepy NOT to have.

The big round black dome. The one the Jawa is shooing past the screen. This would be perfect as an entertainer droid, lol. A mobile smoke machine/lightshow.

The droid from the Bounty Hunter scene in Ep5. A dark gray protocol, with an insect-like head. 4-LOM I think it's name was, on the action figure. Sortof an Evil C-3P0 with a cdef rifle.

IG Assassin droids. Nuff said, if you don't know these, you got no business making a Star Wars game, lol.

Droidekas. If you want to make them quest items, a simple solution. Have Droidekas drop the components. They are old and obsolete. But then again, so is the R5, and Treadwell, and both of those are used in-game.

More coloring options, and color should be chosen at creation, when the chassis is made. What are they using to color these droids, Crayola markers?

Inherent function in chassis. I think we see this already- I have made a 6-module R3 advanced, and a 5-module Probot, and the Probot actually does more damage. I dunno if that was a fluke in the crafting result, or what, but it seems the Probot has an inherent combat boost. Perhaps a LE repair droid being fixed to use a repair module, and being able to repair twice as fast as a normal droid. A surgical droid having a med rating cap of 200%. An Astromech being unable to stack modules, but being able to use any 1 module per type. A BLL having double the storage cap of the modules put into it (cap of 20). Things of that sort.

Power droids should NOT take droid batteries. Sorry..but putting a battery into my generator, especially with the cost of the materials to make one, is just stupid. Come on..it costs nearly as much as a BLL to make, has just ONE socket, or cluster socket, and the ONLY thing it can do, is recharge someone else's droid? How dumb is that?

Take the language skill out of the smuggler box, and give them something they can actually use. Maybe double the thug/jabba faction payout from Jabba missions? or even better, a special set of smuggler-only missions from each themepark, Borvo, jabba, etc similar to BH missions. Each would be a delivery mission, same as any other, but would spawn an imperial scanner at some point, and would involve taking a contraband shipment to a specific place through one or more contraband scans. Instead, make the ability to understand any language part of the Protocol chassis. To balance it out, give them a vocabulary unit. it would store 2 languages, plus 1 per 10% of the quality. Something like that. So a high-quality Protocol could be programmed with all the languages, a POS wouldn't.

Some more module ideas... A weapon cert module. this would allow a droid with hands (Protocol, LE, etc) to hold a weapon. they would stack, one module allows them to hold a cdef. Two allows a novice marksman weapon. three allows a box 1 weapon (rifle, etc) and 4 allows a box 2 weapon. the weapon would be given to them, like dressing a vendor, and would not decay, but would not be recoverable either, becoming part of the droid, and lost if upgraded. This also allows a crossover, maybe the module would require a scope module,f or targeting, etc, from a weaponsmith.

Armor module ideas- modules made by JUST a DE should be no armor. Modules made with composite segments should be light armor. a module level 6 should take two reinforced armor units, a new Droid Engineer item similar to the new food additives from a BE. each of these would have 2 factory made advanced composite segments. This module would give the droid the old Medium armor rating, but at a higher cost.

A vendor module. this would work just like a merchant vendor, but would be limited to what items were in it's storage module. Sortof a variant of the ad-barking module, or a companion to it.

A galactic survey module. Saw this idea and loved it. It tells what resources are on each planet, and their stats. Nothing more, you still need to go there and survey it out.

A Surveyor module. This would be a companion to that one, working like a BH droid. It goes to a planet, and floats around, until it finds a resource and reports that back to you, just as a BH droid does. Could only be added to Probots or DZ70s, other droids would have 'too limited mobility' to do this job.

A harvestor module. Basically, this would extract at the same rate as a harvester. BER same as a medium. Could ONLY be used in a BLL droid. Would require a generator turbine, 3 factory crate structure storage modules, and a ore, chem, or whatever harvesting unit. It would vanish when the user logs, just as other droids do, but would be ideal for snagging a high resource spot in town, etc.

Up owned droid limit to 10. With all the specialized droids, someone would have to have a Med droid for the best medical rating, a repair or pit droid for best repair, etc. And artisans would need a gas BLL, a mineral, a chemical, etc. This would greatly increase DE revenue, at least for a while. and using droids in combat would increase it long term as their vitality got whittled down, repeatedly, and they had to be replaced.

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

This is probably far from a unique sentiment, but please reconsider the "Droid Merchant Barker" modules very carefully, or at the very least, make them only function in player cities or in a player-owned structure.

I know the idea of announcing a WP to a vendor or shop sounds like a good one on the surface, but the Coronet and Theed starport "plazas" are already virtually non-stop walls of AFK Spamming players, to the point that many people avoid using those cities completely where possible, or enter the starport in Theed from the ship-port side to avoid the lag near the entrance.

With the advent of a droid "spambot", no cantina or city venue near any commonly used facility will ever be fit for "live player" use again. The AFK spammers will set a doid to spamming one location, then simply move to another and start their macro, doubling the amount of advertising traffic.

Consider an "Advertising space" or "Billboard", where a merchant can place a "Poster", crafted by an artisan perhaps, that allows them to leave a printed message, rather than the spambot. Enable the droid barkers for private shops or malls; allow merchants to exchange placement of them in each other's shops, any of a myriad of places where they will be an interesting and welcome adjunct to the merchant's sales and ambiance, but PLEASE do not enable them in the non-player fixed cities like Theed and Coronet, or you will have a repeat of the lag debacle in Coronet on Test Center when vehicles were available to try.

In short, it's a clever concept with incredible potential for abuse.
