Thread: Balance Probot Petition (Everyone Please Read and sign!)
I think a lot of you are missing the point here. To those that are thinking that the probot is fine at is current state are entitled to their opinion and I respect that a lot. Its that we need some kind of update real soon to keep our droids a valuable part of the community. If we could have the probots HAM not adjusted and just increase the damage NOW I know we would have a demand for them again.
The way I see it I don't think we are going to be getting any NEW droids any time soon. A developer can make a Probot damage change in like 5 min if not less and that alone would already greatly improve our problems. If I knew now that we were going to be getting new droids with better functionalitly real soon I would never ask for the probot change. Just my 2 credits. =)

Definitely a line that needs to be reviewed and updated. My vote for a change!
Probots aren't supposed to be Combat Droids. As such, they are fine as they are.
What needs to be done:
1. Give us real Combat Droids to make
2. Reduce the combat abilities of critters.
The main problem we have selling to people is that they only see the 820HAM and don't realise the major effect that the medium 40% armor makes, but then again they choose a CG over a rock beetle for the same reasons. I've started adding the equivalent unarmor HAM to my description for all probots sold (I also Name them Heavy Defender Probot Advanced on the Deeds), if people ask me about probots HAM I tend to get a "WOW!" when I tell them that it equates to nearly 5.5k HAM after you take armor into account.
What I'd like to see is for experimentation to have some effect, currently whatever the deed says the adv probot always comes out at 820 HAM and 50 damage, we should be able to experiment both up independantly, so we can choose to make lower ham, higher damage, or higher ham, lower damage probots, instead of the current cookie cutter probots we have now. If we took 800 HAM and 50 damage as the base, and allowed, say, a 50% max increase in HAM and a 200% max increase in damage by experimentation, make the two values based off different qualities on he resources (say OQ and Conductivity for damage and Shock Resist and Unit Toughness for HAM), then it'll be harder to make it high in both. We might end up with an 810HAM probot with 140 damage, or a 1100HAM bot with 55 damage.
Of course for this to work we would need to have the full 100% experimentation instead of the 55% we currently get (why 55% didn't they realise the extra 5% was worthless since we can only use whole 10%s to get extra points)

Don't flame me but...
I had a Probot that I took out to Dantooine. It had level 1 armor in it. It lasted longer than it should have, considering it's supposedly just a scout. I have one with level 3 armor nowand I love it. It was tanking 2 War Grondas for me just yesterday. It did little damage so my friend and I got a more than fair amount of XP from them whenwe were done.
When we eventually get some new combat models to sell, how tough are they going to be. It's in my opinion that when the new ones come out, they need to nerf(oh-no!) the probot down to it's proper scout status(and probably lower it down from where it sits in our Blueprints line to put in the new stuff above it).
Now, the DZ-70.... I have no clue whatsomeone's supposed to do with that.Forty HAM...? Come on! Whyare there no threads onat least bumping that up!It could easily give us a cheap combat(scout) droid for the more new players.

And to all the people saying the Probot is as good or better than a non-CH pet, please, hehe. Let me put this as simply as possible:
YOU CAN'T HEAL A DROID!
Not only can you heal a pet and tell him to do tricks to keep them going indefinitely, you can even buff them!
Duel someone with a Rock Beetle with your L6 Armor Probot as well and your Probot will get owned without even having to heal the Rock Beetle. People only like the CG because it's huge and has higher HAM, it's not the best non-CH pet. =)
The Probot might be fine for tanking Durnis and Chubas, but you can tank stuff on Endor with a Rock Beetle and a stimpack. =)
You have my vote, my main concern is the fact that probots damage is less than half that of a good Non-CH pet.

Let's face it, as much as I'd like to see new combat droids, we're not getting them till shortly after hell freezes over, which is in January I think.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it has been stated that you can use the same stimpack you use on your pet to heal your probot. I've not tried it personally, but there have been various threads concerning this. This further exemplifies the fact that droids are currently the same as pets to the game, but it is still something we can use to our advantage =).
I bought this game ONLY so I could build droids. It's too bad that I'm considering suspending my account to wait for the professions to be fixed.
Which brings up the point: What will it take to get the software industry as a whole to put out better software instead of using the first version of a product as the largest beta stage? If car manufacturers rushed something to production and then used to first 100000 accidents to provide information for what needs to be improved there would be no car companies. Why do we have to put up with crappy software? Sorry... it's something I've been thinking about since purchasing SWG.
Save SWG! Fix the professions so we can at least play the roles we're supposed to!
