Droid Engineer Archive
Thread: I would like to apoligize to you all.
Hmmm.... spooky. I have a BS in Elect. Engineering (from LSU) and a Masters of Engineering from FAU (Florida Atlantic Univ.) with an emphasis on Kinematics and Neural Networks.
Of course, I now sell groceries for a living... but that's another story altogether.
I dont think many people work in their relateddegree field. If I would have known I would end up a .NET and Java software developer I would have saved myself alot of studying and went with a Business I.T. Degree
Of course, selling groceries is a bit farther from the desired result than mine I suppose
It's kind of hard to not be upset for one reason or another at the current state of things in the DE profession.
No wait, all is clear now. It's not about immersion in Star Wars, or even Pet Wars, it's clearly about everyone's true fantasy, role-playing Bill Cosby in Leonard Part 6.
There was a hotfix patch after the load this morning (no patch notes with it incidentally), the stealth nerf to droids (or bug if it is a bug) happened then, droids worked fine last night after the big patch, they do not work fine after the little patch. This is killing docs, and is obviously no good for DE's.
TH, the private crafting chip in the droid acts as a public crafiting station, ie no crafting over lvl 25 schematics (or stim C's if you think like a Doc). The bizarre thing is I found a public crafting station that now acts like a private one, only problem is it wont fit in or on my droid so is not much use in the field ![]()
...They threatened you, didn't they?
The crafting station private/public switch was a bug that is being
hotfixed tomorrow.
Not a big deal. I'm wondering why no one has commented on our
experimentation points being jacked up to 10.
I almost wet myself...
Senor
Thunderheart, the Droid Crafting Modules used to act as private stations when placed in a droid. Basically, this allowed the high level schematics (over 25) to be crafted using the droid as a crafting station, as opposed to forcing the crafter to use an architect made crafting station in someone's house.
Given that our combat droids are so insignificant when compared to the L 15 CH pets, this was really the only thing that we could sell - droids with maxed out medical stations plus a crafting station.
This is either a bug that needs to be addressed, or a nerf that will further damage the already bleeding DE's.
Your apology is unnecessary.
I am a Master Architect and a novice Rifleman. I own two Probots and an R2 unit. I finally got my first organic pet last night. A spat for a mount when it grows up. As soon as vehicles come out, the spat is gone. Why? Because it is supposed to StarWarsy.
So, Sintrosi you have my support even if I am not in the profession.

Is there an issue with the droid crafting stations that I dont know about?
Droid crafting now function only as "regular" crafting station like the ones in cities. They cannot make items over 25 Complexity.
They used to function as "Private Class" crafting stations, like those in people's homes, that can be used to make all items.
This is a MAJOR blow to our profession, killing one of the two remaining uses for droids. And in the context of the silver spoon (mounts) given to CHs and the probot one-pet-only nerf, quite an insult.

But really, I want to help get player cities in order and off to a strong start, address all the professions issues and do it all in time to be ready for another busy week next week.
I also remember that TH took suggestions for Player city buildings, like making a Protocol Droid a component for the shuttles. Did this happen?
NO, just like all of the other suggestions that we made, they seem to have dissapeared, and now the crafting stations don't work worth a [edit]!
Sintrosi,
What ever you decide or have to do, you have my respect. I know you'll do the best thing either way, just get A's in class, thats what realy matters. ![]()
be safe...
PS: Please stay! ehem... sorry... had to get that out. ok, cheers...

Weird. As soon as the Vehicle engineer profession comes out, I'm jumping ship to that. I'm a mech eng student involved in designing a open-wheel race car suspension for a collegiate design series (formula SAE.) I will get hired by GM or Dodge. Unless a F1 team hires me ![]()
Zocima, it's the thing that's even worse than the stealth nerf- the stealth fix/improvement. Like the stats on the char screen or the seperate tab for waypoints. Nothing was mentioned about what I consider to be significant improvements.
