Thread: This Division is killing us
I have a question.
Do those in the 'No DE-only Combat Droid' camp have any objections to the idea of a Master DE only droid that is not related to combat?
Just trying to get an idea of what the real problem is...
Actually, by my count ontwoof the major threads that have asked DEs to vote on the issue, I am part of the 'majority' from the 'combat-camp'. The 'minorty' are those that are asking for something that could equal a CL50+CH pet and don't really have much interest in selling Droids.
Take a close look at the sigs, registered dates, and other posts thatboth sides havewritten before making assumptions please. As it stands, both sides havea fairly equal number of beta testers,MDEs and NDEs, as well as brand spanking newnoobs.
I looked over boththreads twice and unless I missed a few, Vampiric_Hoshi; according to what you stated earlier, in regards to the 'combat camp', a MDE-only combat droid would be voted in, but I could have counted wrong.

Professions.. I choose to use my knowledge of my PROFESSION to develop droids not only for my personal use, but sellable to others, in the mean time since my Knowledge is my own I choose to learn and implament a droid so complext that the masses would have no way to use it, nor be able to use it against me.
I WILL make droids for combat use for the massess, I WILL make droids used as servants and portable tool sheds, I also CHOOSE to make one that ONLY I understand , its complexity uncomprimised by anything I have ever produced for anyone, one that will obey me unfailingly, and protect me at all costs, superior in every single way to those who could not grasp their programming.
NOT all MDE are likeminded, they, being from a less war like upbringing or culture, may not comprehend the testosterone induced, war mongering droids that fuel my being, and my Rodian desires to partake in the hunt, the chase , and the kill, but not by my hands will I take life from my prey, it will be taken by the tools I have created and infused with a false life, my droids will not justify killing something swiftly to ease the suffering. Mine will be the closest interpitation to Malice and will be Cruel, death by my creation shall be slow, and painfull, layer by layer it will rend the fleash from your muscle, then muscle from your intestines, untill the remains of my prey are a husk and shell of its former self. I shall take NO TROPHIES of my victories, I will not give the dead that honor, I will humiliate them for their lack of survival skills, and test them all by my creation.. my abbomination of minerals, and chemicals, that Ibroght to falselife, and I forthwith shall become each and every victim I persuses JUDGE, JURY, and EXECUTIONER, even when the foe waylays me to my back, my mechanical terror will fight in my stead, showing my ultimate supremacy, as it will protect me, fearless, unlike the fleash beats torchered by others by breaking their will and forcing them into a humble servitute of enslavement.
for those WEAK stomach, spineless "self proclaimed" artisans, if you choose not to persue such knowledge, then so be it, more the reason for me to come visit you, let your MSE stand at your defence, and run as you run coward...

You do have some real arrogance issues. You basically called anyone who disagrees with you a n00b. You didn't word it that way, but by saying we are all new to the DE profession or not Masters yet you may as well have said it.
Droid-Creator, what I meant was that a lot of people have joined DE just because they read the words "combat droids" and "certification" and assumed it meant DE's could build and use combat droids. Since they are not interested in the profession, just the ability to build and use a combat droid, they have not put the time and effort into becoming a Master... probably arn't even beyound novice DE... yet feel they should still predictthe shapeand future of the profession.
For the record, a lot of people miss-read what I say when I talk about combat droids. There is a big difference between wanting a DE only combat droid to wanting DE to have ALL the combat droids.

Drashk lives in a very violent world that is rocked by civil war. He has been physically injured so many times while trying to check on his harvesters that he decided to pursue the combants approach to getting things done by taking up the way of the pistol.
You are missing the point...big time.
Those of us who oppose a de-only droid are NOT saying you shouldn't have a good combat droid to protect yourself...we are saying all players, not just DEs, should be able to buy that droid and tell it what to do.
We WANT better combat droids, both to sell and to use.

This is ABSOLUTE BS! CL50? Are you are freaking kidding me?!?!?
Devs are NEVER going to give us a CL50 pet. If they could, they would take the CL50 pets away from creature handlers because they make the game too easy. Im still convinced that they are going to do so, and are just nerfing CHs in stages to prevent a mass uprising.
We will get, at BEST, a CL 20 droid, and more likely a droid around CL15 (the level of cowardly gurrecks). That leaves no leeway for a sellable DE-only droid AND a lesser non-DE combat droid that is any better than the probot.
If you guys REALLY want power, push for a combat droid everyone can use (around CL15), and push for us to use multiple droids. CL15 + CL15 = CL30, and is a much more reasonable request than a freaking CL50 combat droid.
If you ask for "pie in the sky" you will get us all nothing.

Sorry Drashk I misread what you were saying... I saw CL50 and my eyes glazed over. Countthat as a response to the CL50 people and not to you.

I can't speak for the rest but I will say while I don't think its needed, nor a good idea, it doesn't pose the problems that a combat droid does. My argument and objections have nothing to do with greed or power, its about the future of the profession and the balance of the game.
