Thread: Did we just win?

Well, it appears we probably will have a Droid Handler profession. You know what? I guess I will live with it and possibly become one myself. I am coming around to the realization that if we don't get what we can while the getting is good, it will be another year before we see any real improvements. I really don't think I will be around in another year to see what those improvements are....so give us what you got now.

The dev slate is full already and if they push back droid plans, that means pushing back some other fix down the road for some other skill set. I doubt they are going to do thatespecially whena full fledged plan is complete and most of the design work is already done. There isn't enough time to try and squeeze droids in again when other people have things they want fixed as well.

My views are simple on all the bickering and debating over the DE.

1. I don't care anymore. Let them do whatever. I'll adapt and deal.

2. If CH's were able to charge100k for mounts(?!?!?), then what's stopping us from charging ungodly prices for good Combat Droids? Everyone complains that they're poor playing a DE. Well now is your chance to get rich. Supply and demand works in this game the same way it works in the real world. We all know there is an overwhelming demand for Combat Droids. We all know players pay whatever it takes to get what they want(look at how ridiculous the prices for holocrons got). Now it's up to us to set prices and provide the supply for the demand.

Either way, DE is more a fill-in for me until the expansion comes out and I can move on to being what I really want to be: Starship Engineer. (hoping they still plan on adding it and don't take that out too)

ok, no combat droids. How is that a win for those who wanted them? Sure they could fix our present bugs like all other proffesions have. That do for a while. I myself am not happy with no combat droids but not a suprise with all the crying going on. I would still rather have a metal pet skin then a critter pet skin and old time and that is all we really are talking about. Just a skin that goes over some stats. Welp I glad for all you who think this is a win for the BE profession.

Not a win. Just another stall tactic. One would wonder if they even were working on some kind of solution. Just take a look at what they have done for DE over the past 7 months. That says enough there.

Non-DEs and many DEs wanted to combat droids. Those DEs that didn't want them - don't build them, don't use them. But don't ruin the game for the rest of us. I just can't see how combat droids would harm DEs in any way, shape or form.

Ho...

I agree Ordlander. While I was against the DH idea, I was definately looking forward to more Combat Droids. Utility Droids....they can't even fix what they have. I mean, you have MSE Droids healing and Surgical Droids being crafting stations. You have Astromech Droids being used as decoration. As Protocol Droids with no protocol skills at all. They need to fix what they have before they can move on. The only healing droids should be Surgical Droids. MSE Droids are used for light storage and courier services. Astromechs(Astrospace Mechanic)REPAIR, along with the LE Droids. And Protocol....well I guess they're good at standing by the Shuttle Ports, no other real use for them right now. These people that have MSE Droids being healers and crafting stations.....that is just totally against everything Droid and any DE that makes one of these should be forced to drop DE immediately. Or be hunted down.

Look at it this way:

If we "Win" and the Devs lose there will be no winner.

If we "lose" and the Devs "win" there will again be no winner.

We cant make this an Us vs them kinda thing. We need positive improvements that are Win-Win-Win for the Devs, the DE"s and the SWG community.

The "crying" is about how the large majority of DEs would like to the things concerning their profession already in the game fixed as many of their products have been broken, bugged, or useless since launch. Combat droids are great but cleaning up the things DEs can do RIGHT NOW would be a satisfying start to correcting the biggest complaints about the profession. It really ticks me off to see someone claiming that DEs are "crying" about wanting things corrected before things get added. If you want a combat droid, go out, be a CH and you can get a tank right now but don't be mocking and condescending to the people who are up in arms trying to get the Devs to fullfill the promises that they've been making to DEs for MONTHS. Many people here have been waiting patiently for fixes to follow promises while many other professions like CH and Chef have been getting a good amount of attention. How long has the wait been? How many promises have been made? Go read the "Droid Engineer Academy Awards" thread to see a very well condenced recap of Dev promises and gaffs surrounding the DE profession.

If you don't get a combat droid immediately, you will live. There are plenty of other ways to kill things in this game.

Agreed.... I'm ready to shove this in the face of anyone who comes here complaining about Droid Engineers fighting off this stupid DH idea. Go read my 1st Annual Droid Engineering Academy Awards post. You'll see just how ignored we've been for months. Upset because nobody gets combat droids? Goask Thunderheart why they backtracked on Holocron's promise to implement a Cert system (which probably would have allowed Droids for everyone).

If you want just another way to "pwn" in this game, check out the TKA or Jedi forums.

If you want an uber pet because you think your E-Peen is a bit too small, go help a BioEngineer make you a level 70+ mega creature.

Just don't march into these forums complaining about how you aren't getting your power fix when we've been in here since June asking for real fixes, and have been virtually ignored!

Don't refer them to the jedi forum. The people that want to "pwn", be undefeatable in PvP and be able to solo (read:with their pets and droidika), wouldn't be interested in becoming a jedi. That takes work to become powerful.
