yup i agree... get while the getting is good. The new higher level combat droids wont hurt us, but they may hurt CH and BE. Utility is great, but i dont want to waste 5 months waiting for it.

It seems strange though... when they had the old probots which were probably equivalent to ch l60 & 80 they nerfed em. I think they will nerf em again... so when they come out I am gonna build like 1000 of the combat droids. As many of the most powerfull I can. If they dont get nerfed I can still sell them, if they do guess what... I can sell them for5 million a piece.

According to TH's latest post, they have decided not to do a "Droid Commander" profession, they have decided to scale back on the idea of "Combat Droids" and introduce more "Utility Droids".......I think we just won.

We win, and yet somehow we end up losing again.

I think combat droids are pretty much a must, and from the sound of some of Thunderheart's latest posts, we could lose out on combat droids altogether. We either need a good system for distribution of droids that aren't "for free", as Thunderheart feels it is, or fudge it all and say just give us all the combat droids above CL10, and then there are only the same balance issues as there is for CH.

I think our demands are pretty high now, having been ignored for so long. We want DE to be worth something. We also want to play DE in a variety of ways. Right now though the major game story lines and everything require combat and a DE has no place in it at the moment. Most every profession contributes in some way or another (with a few exceptions). That being said, building droidsdoesn't really matter to this game at all, and unless we either become integral to the game, or able to participate actively in it, what really is the point to be playing at all?

At the moment I'm looking for an excuse to leave. I consider myself and employee of SOE in the sense that I work tomake droids for the people who have fun playing the game. Either the droid patch is great, or I'm going to save myself the money and time.

Yeah.....win?.....WIN???

I call losing a possible positive revenue stream a WIN.......riiiiight.

Yes, combat droids are a MUST, and everyone ASKED for them.

But it's not TH who says they can't be 'free', it's the devs.

You can argue with the devs, but you can't win.

If they say that any solution for combat droids must meet these criteria, then they MUST meet these criteria.

I have yet to see any other proposed plan that meets the criteria that the devs laid out for us.

Come up with something that DOES, or take what they give us.

You can argue all you want, but this is THEIR game.

THEY are responsible for ensuring that the game is balanced and fair to all players.

While it might be nice if we could have everything we wanted, I'm sure everyone else playing the game would also like to have everything THEY wanted also.

But since we ALL can't have everything we ALL want, some people are going to be happy, and some people aren't.

So when I have to explain to all my customers asking for combat droids that we COULD have had combat droids, but DE shot the only solution down, I get to hear more refrains of "You suck".

Not just the profession, but the community at large.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Ya know, the posts that have been REAL, and HONEST, and have the most VALID reasons in them, have all been ONE-STARRED.

So to whoever the "n00b" DE is out there that is still in the Boy Scouts at age 30 and tries to hide him or herself from the fact that this world is not Disney, I say grow the #$@& up and quit one-starring people who don't agree with your point of view. This is a free country and everyone, EVERYONE, here is entitled to their opinions and if you don't like it, tough. But I'm getting tired of seeing good posts get one-starred because you can't deal with it. Ordlander and Prog both had very valid and REAL points, and they see the bottom line, unlike whoever the kiddie one-starrers are.

Go on and one-star me, this community has a problem with the one-star treatment. Sometimes I wish you had to be an adult to play MMORPG's, really. Maybe the game would be more enjoyable without all the chidish drama.
