Come on people lay off TK. He's a messenger. Nothing more. Maybe you can convict him of putting positive spin to what is happening, but what good would it be if he started ranting? The devs ignore this forum because of our "negative attitude." Would it be better for them to ignore our correspondent because of his "negative attitude"? Getting a blue name does not grant magical powers and authority. At best it allows the poor **edit** to see the truth and then be shackled not to reveal it.

We have been screwed over repeatedly. We have beenkicked, lied to, misrepresented, and thrust to the forefront of the playerbase as a mockery.Its beena total slap in the face that Sodan's plan was shot down with a single word. "Balance".

That doesnt mean its TK's fault. Or that he didnt promote the plan, or that he didnt fight to get us answers. Which btw, "No" is still an answer, even if its not the one we want to hear.

No where has TK said everything is wonderful and we should all bow down to the devs. He's trying to make a bad situation improve, and suggest we look to the future instead of dwelling in the past. Whats done is done and so long as we're focused on the slights of yesterday, we'll never be able to deal with the slights of tommorrow.

All TK has asked for is to look forward to Patch 8, where we are supposed to gain the bulk of our improvements such as they are. Yeah it looks like more of the same crap we've had to date. Still, its pretty immature of us to call it dead and buried without ever having seen the changes. Im guilty of it too. Its easy to focus on the negative, but there are _some_ positive things out of patch 7 and probably will be in patch 8.

And yes AO, the change to dropable deeds displaying is annoying as hell, but its hardly the biggest problem in the profession. So we have to make a full droid, thats useless. So what? Like thats any different. Its hardly the largest of our concerns (provided they dont run out of time and leave us with nothing to sell as furniture for patch 8).

So anyway, each of us has to make a decision. Accept the state of the profession and continue to be led on the vague hope of a brighter day, or drop the profession or the game. But the constant nagging on our correspondents (Both Drashk & TK) that they should do something or they should "make the devs" do something, or that they should be pissed off with the rest of us is counterproductive.

It may feel good if TK would get up and let loose a barrage of insults to the devs, but it wont help, and would likely hurt. The dev's ignore us enough already without giving them a good reason to ignore us completely.

If anything, TK is a better man than I to be able to swallow what the dev's tell him and still be able to continue on in a positive manner. I sure as hell couldnt.

Whether you like it or not the furniture WILL be fixed. Yes it will be different, but we'll also get other droids, more than just Power. Lets see R5, Treadwell (my personal favorite), Arakyd, Power, oh and of course the MSE. Thats practically doubling the market.

I agree it would seem to havebeen easier to do chassis for each. But I can understand why they decided to do it this way though. Its probably a more generic method to get the art down. Instead of building a chassis every time they add a droid (HA!) , the routine can probably just genericallydisplay all droids the same way with the same object, making display inherent. Its also in line with what they have done with BE's pets on display. Either case its nots TK's fault they did it.

I dont think cost is going tobe nearly the issue you make it to be. 1) youdont need to use Advanced, and 2) with no modules and not using advanced, the cost is only slightly higher. Mainly chemical. Throw a harvestor down on some fiberplast for a day and call it good. Hell it may be cheaper if you run the numbers.

I agree with your entire post, we have been screwed, but again,it has nothing to do with TK.

is it really spinning or just trying to get people to accept the inevitable? Face it, by the time we hear about a feature its already been started and probably close to finished.

If you don't like it the way it is, the most effective thing you can do to get them to pay attention is to cancel your subscription. If you're not prepared to do that, **edit** or be constructive.

If you want to go lead a coup somewhere else that's fine, but that kind of attitude is going to get us nowhere in here. You're hurting the community with this sort of garbage.

Sigh we got DC kicked out we can do it again....it was a bad idea, the dev's thought it was a bad idea, which is why they got rid of it.
Now because the dev's realised that they had 'given in' to the community, they go and re-instate it out of spite.
Yes SPITE, and to prove this they quoute the mythical word 'balance' without actually explaining what 'balance' issues there were (freekin deafening silence on that one).
I say we SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS that this game is not 'Star Wars' without droids. And indeed there are proably more bloody Jedi than their are DE's now!
Let's take this complaint out of the forums, let's take it to every fan site we can find, let's take it to every lucasarts email address we can dredge up, every game review magazine and website, let's shout as loud as we possible can that this game IS NOT STAR WARS WITHOUT DROIDS!!!!!

The ones where she can look at the situation honestly and see the situation for what it really is?

Unlike some people around here, who's opinions flip flop so much it gives me a headache (are they in "kiss butt" mode today, or are they in a realistic frame of mind, it goes back and forth so one can never tell...), Shian takes the good with the bad and comments on them individually and honestly.

It's not her fault, or anyone else but the Devs, that right now we are getting so much "bad" out of them. What does not help is certain people making excuses for people (the Devs) that refuse to do it themselves in spite of their constant refrain in interviews how much they interact, value, listen to, and seek the input of, their community. So far, they have "listened" in a couple of high profile, carefully orchestrated, select instances, and in the overwhelming number of cases the supposed "open" lines of communication get ignored.

Shian dares to call a spade a spade...and I'm glad she does, every day of the month. It's people like her that keep us from being totally snowballed as a profession.

Or maybe the one about the dev and the...well, I shouldn't go there...that story is a felony in some states.

I can't agree with you on that one. I thought the job of the correspondant was to focus all the good and the bad that the community put together as well as offering his or her own input, then present that to the devs. By being worried that he might get them upset he or she cannot give the devs the true feeling of the community. And the Devs cannot be childish and go about telling the correspondants "Hey, you pissed me off with your comments. You are no longer a correspondant"

If the Correspondant reports an issue to the Devs and they dont like it they should say it in a mature way and offer explanation as to why. In the same manner as the correspondant have to produce the communities wishes, questions, reports and all the other stuff in a mature way.

I am not saying that any of the correspondants are backing down from the devs in fear they might hate him or her. I like to believe that the correspondant feel secure enough to stand up to what the community want to adress and have answered.

Well, allow me to enlighten you... I stated essentially that it's SOE's game, they do what they want and the best way to tell that we've had enough is to punch them in their wallet. I do not agree with the situation and I don't agree with anything they do/did/will do. Perhaps you'd like the cliffnotes next time?
