Thread: Can we all......

IMHO, pointing fingers will do no good unless they are directed at teh Devs. Remember, its the DEVS who have ignored us. Its the DEVS who have strung us along for nearly a year. I dont think us having no correspondent is a good thing. At least we have someone who can see the deep, dark secrests that get revealed in their forums. They cant speak of it, but I am more comfortable knowing that *someone* can see it. Having no correspondent very well may result in the exact same results on all fronts, but I still woudl rather have one of us to keep an eye on that forum.

Instead of asking TK to drop it, and then have another come in (maybe) and have THEM drop it, etc... I suggest we all drop DE. Seriously. Its been suggested dozens of times before, but look, it seems to me that our backs are against the wall. It seems prety clear that the Devs couldn't care less about DE, so lets do the same. If all the "known" DE drop it overnight, and the metrics show a huge decline in DE on the server, and people start to howl on every-single Galaxy Board that DE are suddenly more rare than Rangers.....maybe...just maybe the Devs will STOP WITH THE **edit**ING JEDI WORK and fix us..... /breathes deeply

Yes, I know there will be new people to fill in some of the now-empty spots. But these will be green DE who do not have the depth of knowledge we have, and who will NOT be abel to fill our shoes. There are other craftign professions out there that could use more representation. Armorsmiths come to mind first, then BE. And BE, by all accounts, now has the best crafting process in the game.

If this sort of thing worked, if the Metrics showed we had dropped en masse, the Devs would have proof of our resolve. Then if they decide to put some acceptable (to us) time into the profession, we can all re-grind it out and pick up where we left off in a "new' DE profession.

I can't agree with you on that one. I thought the job of the correspondant was to focus all the good and the bad that the community put together as well as offering his or her own input, then present that to the devs. By being worried that he might get them upset he or she cannot give the devs the true feeling of the community. And the Devs cannot be childish and go about telling the correspondants "Hey, you pissed me off with your comments. You are no longer a correspondant"

If the Correspondant reports an issue to the Devs and they dont like it they should say it in a mature way and offer explanation as to why. In the same manner as the correspondant have to produce the communities wishes, questions, reports and all the other stuff in a mature way.

But the point is there's no way to tell what is said to the devs on the correspondent forums. Take the chassis issue. Who here can prove that he HASNT brought it to the devs? If he brings it to the devs and he's ignored or he's given an answer he cant share, is he still a traitor?

The only way we can tell what a correspondent does is by the information returned from the devs.

Who do you wanna trust, the devs or TK?

I dont think ive ever seen a "why" answer from a dev.Hell i dont think ive seena "what" or "how" before it goes to TC.

Seems like my post came off as a attack on the Correspondant. Which wasn't whaty I was aiming for.

The quote seen like that without the quote (cut n paste job I did) is read out of context. What I was going for in my post was a reply to a earlier post in this thread. The poster indicated or hinted that the DE corr. was powerless and that if the DE corr. got SOE upset we as DE's would pay for it, and thus the DE Corr. wouldn't do his job by providing SOE with the feeling, questions and suggestion of the DE community to the devs in fear of making them upset.

I agree with you that there is no way for us to know what is being said between the correspondents and the Devs. We have to trust that our correspondant is working for in the best interest of the DE community. And we have to trust that he do it in a way that means he is presenting our ideas, frustration and discussions on an ordely manner.

Many post here start of as one thing but more often then not spiral down to something completly different. The correspondant reads our input and discussions and present them on the corr. forums. Where they are easier looked at by the DEVS. (Atleast that is what I would like to think)

We are screaming our heads of wanting for some dev attention here. Numerous posts asks for devs to come and look and answer us. And many replies in those posts are from DE's or the correspondant, but not from the devs. I hope that the devs pay more attention to the correspondant forums and that the correspondants in turn provide them with our thoughts. And that the devs in turn provide the corr.s with a answer that they in turn can provide us.

We know that the devs dont do that. they say potato and dont offer any explanation to why they say potato. we dont want potato. not unless we can get some gravy, veggies and maybe some meat as well.
