Thread: New correspondent discussion
/vote Gorantoth
Although I will be pleased with whomever is chosen! It is a class of very dedicated, brilliant individuals. I will always applaud and thank them for all taking out time their busy days to try to make our profession a better one.
Well, what a difficult and at the same time wonderful problem. I think it is great that we have such wonderful competition for this position! I certainly would be quite happy with any of the three, Woody, Drashk, and Gorantoth. I think all three have very thorough knowledge of the DE prof. Drashk has been working on our behalf on TC and prob is one of the very few DE's there. Woody has set up the DEA and has gotten me started on that path too. Gorantoth's Forum thread is just fabulous and extremely thorough.
I will be thrilled to have any one of the three! Anyway, I certainly don't feel qualified to make that decision anyway. I guess if I had to choose, I would have to vote for:
Drashk,
mostly because he has been most active on TC. I think this is very important for the future of the DE profession. I have to say thought, that Gorantoth's forum threads have been most complete and the information alone is worth Knighthood. I'm glad i don't have to make the final decision! Good luck to all of these three, and I'm sure with the existing friendships that have developed, this will be a postion with a lot of support from us below!

This is really a tough call. There are so many good choices out there.
Gorantoth has done an excellent job compiling issues, exploits, wishlist items. Drashk has done very good work in testing new (as well as old) features and presenting them to the community. Woodrow's work in creating, maintaining, running the DEA is phenomenal, especially now that it is crossing servers. TheRealTK421 has put forward very good discussions regarding the profession as a whole.
Each one of them is capable of being open-minded to discussions, willing to look at, and even explore, alternative ideas. I would be happy with any of them as the new correspondant, but I think my vote is leaning towards Drashk.
I have to agree with your post.
But this is only based on name recognition - not always a good indicator of anything.
1: Drashk
2: Gorantoth
3: Woodrow

Woody gets my vote.
I would like to nominate myself... I post on the forum almost everyday (and I lurk if im not posting).. I think I keep myself up to date on droid issues, and I would really work hard for the DE cause!

"Kamayyk for DE correspondent!"
"Vote wookiee, vote Kamayyk!"

I'm also a listener rather than a poster and been a DE since beta 3. I'd love to do it, but really don't have enough spare time to give the role justice![]()
...so...
Gorantoth gets my vote, sterling work on bug & wish listcollecting as well as a whole bunch of other posts, convinces me that he would do us proud.
Drashk
Why: I've actually run into him on TestCenter. Plain and simple, he spends time there. We will need that when/if we are getting the improvements in January like they say we are.
While I feel that any of the top candidates is capable of doing an outstanding job as correspondent, I have one concern: Is it possible that correspondent duties and time-sinks would interfere with the fine work they are doing today? I'd hate to see the DEA decline because TheWoody is too busy. I'd hate to see the bug list be maintained less. I'd hate to see Drashk stop all those tests and posts.
I guess I'm just raising the issue of overburdening any one individual. Whoever is chosen will have an extra workload, and it behooves the rest of us to help out a bit.

Maybe we could have one of these fine fellows ( I assume male, but after Sintrosi's gender questions, I shouldn't assume anything) become the Correspondent but have 2 Vice-Correspondents. That would spread out the work load, allow all three to have quality "play time" and would be a very balanced affair. I think all three bring unique and valuable skills to this profession. The Vice-Corrs would report directly to the Corr who would interact with TH and the Devs'. Reasonable?
