Thread: Wow...some of you really don't like me lately...
Yeah, the rating system is suffeli. It isn't and can never be a true accurate reflection of public opinion. it's like all the polls you see on CNN (68% of the people in the entire country say this) and then ya find out they only asked 1000 people. 1000 out of 280 million. The rating system is good in principle, but breaks down when it is actually implemented. I never base wether I read a post on the # of stars it has.

I never thought I'd see it happen but I appear to have become something of a pariah lately just by asking everyone to be nice. Sheesh.
Why does this surprise you? After all, its only 2000 years after some guy got nailed to a tree for going around telling everyone that it would be nice if everyone was nice to each other for a change.
At least you're just getting 1 star, who knows maybe people are having flashbacks to kindergarden and think its a good thing.
Your posts are always fun to read, TK. Kind of nice to see the DE boards get a little more positive lately, too. I stopped coming here because it got too negative.
Then again, I'm a weaponsmith first and a DE second, so I can't say I can really relate to some of the disappointment Droid Engineers have been feeling.

Man, I respect you a lot and I appreciate your thoughtful contributions to the DE community. Lately, though, I can't help but feel your trading your usual tenacity for the inside track with the devs. You're the second insider to backtrack 100% on your ideals on DH for example.
Not all of us have access to the same information you do. Perhaps you have more reason to be "positive" than we do. As far as I can tell, I'm still the master of a profession that hasn't gotten much dev attention and has been at the butt end of a lot of broken promises. They fixed chef before the fixed Droid Engineer; Bantha fodder before R2D2.
With this in mind, forgive me if I don't 5-star your posts as eagerly as I have before.

I hate to say it, but it does look like TK did indeed get an inside track somehow.
Now, what I wonder, if there is information out there that can make even TK change his mind about things, why can't the rest of us have access to it?

There's no need to speculate about it. He gloated about it to me in in-game tells. When pressed for more information he was as silent as your final holo -- and that was to a fellow DEA "admin".
Funny how inside info causes people to change their tune. My only hope is that this undisclosed information is so great that it would cause me to change my tune. Sadly, I have no additional information so I'll be singing the same old song until I do.

I wish I still had the link to Raph's presentation, but what you're seeing here is classic "Kosterism". Find a vocal member of a troublesome community and bring him into the fold.
While I'm not saying TK is doing anything wrong here (in fact I think he's got a pretty big set to be doing this) we need toremember the mindset we're dealing with from the devs.

It makes sense. Bring someone in, give them access to the inside track, and they will generally be more understanding and forgiving. That's what the DE community needs. Not just the leaders. I am for inclusiveness, not exclusivity.
I think half of these debacles could have been avoided by trial baloons here in the DE forums. "Hey, we're concerned about balance and we're thinking of doing the DH class as a solution" or "Does your vote remain 'pure crafter' if it means that your don't get combat droids and we stick them in DH". Then any vehemence is directed to the idea and not the manner in which its foisted upon us.
To be clear, no one is suggesting any thing to the contrary but you, Ackis. Don't try to muddle the debate. Look at my initial reply to this thread.

Can any of you state the TK doesn't have constructive well-thought ideas, that he hasn't tried to help the community as a whole? No. You can say that you disagree with his ideas, but not that they haven't been constructive.
I wouldn't worry about it. You've been posting a lot recently (as compared to the near past) and, recently, there have been a lot of 1-star bandits lurking about. There have also been a lot of non-Droid Engineers posting on our forums recently, and a lot of them don't seem all that enthused about Droid Engineer ideas.
My rating has dropped to about 3 lately also. /shrug I don't care, it's not like it means anything.

TK, I wouldn't be upset about it. My average is firmly locked at 3 stars and it actually makes me happy that way. Anyone who is at a 5 star average should seriously take a look at their posts to see what's wrong.
Nah...I'm okay with it. Whatever rating I have doesn't actually affect what I may or may not post. That'd be just silly.
I was really just pointing this out to bring attention to overall 'thing' happening on the DE boards lately. It's gotten really......strange here, lately.
It's quite obvious that even though the star system is meant to be used to promote well thought out posts and put down the one-line troll/response, that in fact people use it to agree/disagree with what people are saying. If everyone agrees with all of your posts, you should be worried because it would imply that you are more of a sheep than a leader.
You, my friend, might be a lot of things, but a sheep isn't one of them.
Boy, howdy....isn't THAT the truth.
Imagine, me...stepping up on what some may see as being a fanboi or forum-carebear.
