Thread: Wow...some of you really don't like me lately...

When the heck were these forums ever a fun/positive place?
I hear ya. I got into a flame war a little while ago over the whole positive vs negative posts issue. (I was in favor of positive posts, and against negative.) My posts received regular one stars in that thread.
I did not respond in kind btw, and the dev-hating posts remained un-rated.
Actually I have noticed a certain level of frustration seeping into the dev posts lately. It makes me worry that the dev-haters are winning. Hang in there guys! There are still tons of us out there that appreciate all the hard work you are putting in to make SWG fun.
TK, I wouldn't be upset about it. My average is firmly locked at 3 stars and it actually makes me happy that way. Anyone who is at a 5 star average should seriously take a look at their posts to see what's wrong.
It's quite obvious that even though the star system is meant to be used to promote well thought out posts and put down the one-line troll/response, that in fact people use it to agree/disagree with what people are saying. If everyone agrees with all of your posts, you should be worried because it would imply that you are more of a sheep than a leader.
You, my friend, might be a lot of things, but a sheep isn't one of them.
This rating thingie is something that should be taken out completely. To be honest, i don't give a *selfedit* about what other people think a post is worth, i read them all and make up my own decision. And more often then not, my rating is quite different from the public one, or, to pinpoint the problem, from the one-staring people out there that are not able to express their feelings with words. I admit, i have one-stared posts before, when they were really out of context, blatant rants or in other ways not appropiate. And i have five-stared postings that were on a one-star rate when i thought that everyone out there should be able to read them, even the people that have the default forum settings...
On a side note:
I think JustG's quick reply shows that they are making an effort to read the DE boards, which is just another reason to try to be constructive.
BOO HOO....lol.
My average rating hasn't gone above 3 since I started posting...lol. At least you were once there.
You think these forums used to be great? I'd have to say I don't agree. True, they are worse now. Closing the SWG Discussion forum had the opposite effect from what the Devs had hoped for. If you ask me, the forums have had a lot of, and filled withincreasingly greater, negativity.
I have to confess, tough, that I believe that the Devs deserve almost all of the negative comments that are hurled at them. I wanted a Star Wars game that could be played with a massive multiple number of people. What I got was a Massively Multiplayer Online (I refuse to insert Role Playing) Game with the thinnest of veneer-like Star Wars skins.
Just in case you missed it in the other post ![]()

I think the perception "The Squeeky Wheel Gets The Grease" is mostly the reason people (including myself) attack the Devs and those that tell us to"Be Happy" . Before the big Nov uprising, they would barely talk to us. But the professions that werebitching the most, got the attention. We sat back and watched everyone get attention, all the while remaining broken beyond belief. So in reality, they brought it on themselves. Even now, DEs get more attention than before, even if it's just putting down insurrections and re-promising something new.
I apoligize for any personal attack I've directed at you. In my enthusiasm, I forgot that it was the bigger picture I was upset with, not any individuals.
I'm not going to reopen my accounts at SWG. I dont feel you've (DE's) really won anything yet. Maybe at a later date, but I'll probably be too involved witha new MMORPG. I've suffered through growing pains of other MMORPGs but our profession was a real poor excuse for a game that is nolonger beta.
Guess I'll go back to making real droids (hobby robots) and let you guys and gals fight the good fight.
Good Luck to all you Droid Engineers

I'll admit that the DEs have been one infinately patient lot. I respect that. They of all professions should be the most upset with the lack of Star Wars in this game.
Well, there is a difference between pointing out what one believes to be flaws in the game design and being negative. I don't see anything wrong with "I don't understand the reason for this change, I don't agree with it, I'd like to know more... I wish you would talk to us more and not make changes behind our back..." That is NOT a negative post. That is a statement of opinion. Negative is "you f*#@$ devs can suck my ba&^%s and go to hell! F U!" THAT is a negative post. And I havent seen one of those in a while.
TK421, I like you. ![]()
But to be perfectly honest, the star rating system is crap on these forums. When you're opinionated like myself, you get stars... both 1 and 5.
