If the cap is still at medium and 40%, wouldnt a level 5 work also because it would have normally been heavy armor with 15% resists? Or does the cap not work that way? Would be the same as one level 4 medium with 15% resists?

Just for us new droid engineers, what are % levels supposed to be for the armor modules?

Armor Level 1 = ?%

Armor Level 2 = ?%

etc...

When does light and medium kick in and so forth, I've always wondered, its always been two 3s, 3+4 or two 4s.

Hey if armor segments are so cheap can someone tell me of a Armorsmith/vendor on Bria/Corellia I can check out?

I fail to see what the problem is.....just make level 6s...composite armor segments are dirt cheap(i get them for 3.5k per crate of 50)....Personally, I've never ever stacked lvl 4s becuase it just feels like a cheap way of making them(in fact i stack lvl 6s when theres multiple slots just becuase I can even though theres no benefit that I can see from it at this time).

The problem is that making lvl 6 armor modules isn't possible for non-masters. Stacking 2 lvl4's (or a lvl 4 and lvl3) was a way from those not capable of making lvl 6's to still be able to make the second rating at the cost of needing a second armor slot.

My beef would be the devs not mentioning this if it was intentional.

Armor Level 1 = 15% LIGHT

Armor Level 2 = 25% LIGHT

Armor Level 3 = 40% LIGHT

Armor Level 4 = 15% MEDIUM

Armor Level 5 = 25% MEDIUM

Armor Level 6 = 40% MEDIUM

Doh... at least I focused my production yesterday in medical droids (I can confirm 2 level 4 medical still give you a 110 rating) instead of probots...

Tried two level 5's in an adv probot. Came out as 25% Medium.

Well, I cant speak for any other servers butGorath has had 5 consectutive spawns of super quality duralloy now....so its not a problem on my server at least.....In terms of gameplay, I prefer it this way becuase now theres an advantage to using lvl 6s instead of 4s...of course they could always go back to the old method if putting 2 lvl 6s gave you an advantage over 2 lvl 4s(it should after all).

All I want to know is..was this intentional, or was it not ???.

I just got 3 1000 schematics for comp segs, so it doesn't matter to me, but I know a whole crew of people at the 'under levels' who are really taking pain over this..refund demands are not nice for anyone

Any of you 'special people' with the batphone let us in on .....is it or isn't it intentional?

PS I will no longer mention the stealth nerf of the DSC's..in the 'New Spirit' (tm) of these boards

Peace and love to all....plus *cuddles* now I come to think of the bigger picture

So basically, those of us who don't have the specific resources or segments can't make 40% med armor for our droids...Just great.

Well, normally it would be fine and dandy. It's how crafting works, the higher level items require more specific resources and components.

However, this nerf was stealth, which gave people zero time to compensate, not to mention leaving them unaware until people started complaining that their droids don't have the promised armor levels. As I've said before, sometimes I feel as if after every patch/update I should take hours and make every droid with every possible combination of modules - I worry that I'm going to sell bum droids and not even realize it.

Even a week's notice of something like this would give people the ability to at least cope with the change, and not have their business come to a stand-still.

I made hundreds of Probots just before the patch, and tested them today - pre-patch droids are (thankfully!) coming out at M40%, so whatever the change was it is with the calculation of the armor rating and not the ratings themselves.

Have we even gotten a, "Yeah, we acknowledge this change and it was intentional", or a "No, this is a bug"? I'd feel a lot more "positive" if huge profession-wide issues like this got even15 seconds of attention for someone to type one of the above sentences.

havent been posting/playing much recently but last night i experienced the sameproblem - made someone a probot with the components i had stockpiled and it came out 15% all resists with 2 level 4 armor modules.

I called my personal tank probot (maximillian ) and he still registered 40% all resists so the change is not retroactive.

I think the reason for this change "nerf" is probably an oversite from the changes SOE where beginning to implement into the publish regarding the fabled DH class and combat droids.

now this leaves a few questions?

A) will they fix it back to what it was? i doubt it TBH

B) will this affect other modules? no, it seems to me to be an attempt to balance combat droids - maybe they were going to remove the additional armor slot and replace it with the muchtalked about combat module.

C) will this impact the droid market even more till publish 8 (fingers crossed)? probably- although we still have the ability to make 40% its gonna be more costly and restrict the best probot sales down to those who are MDE.

I myself have put my droid production on hold - i run factory crates of seekers and arakyds and stock pre made probots. Im gonna try and make my fortune by playing the game the way SOE seems to want me to play it. Ill stock droid storage compartments and sell to those who want to make vehicle customisation kits, andill supply batteries and sell in bulk... but i wont be a droid engineer and make "interesting droids" until SOE decide we are worth the skill points we invest in this semi useful profession.

I did my own little experiment and here is what I've found:

I had some old Level 4 armor modules crated before the patch. When these were paired together, they produced Medium armor and 40% resists.

If I made new ones, post patch, they produced Medium armor 15% resists.

So it appears to be a problem with the Level 4 modules and not the droids themselves.

(It's a good think I have access to the resources for level 6 armor)

Hmm...

Based on the warnings that Drashk put out (Pre-Publish), I suspect that this was intentional. He DID give out a warning that the "cost of creating a (viable) Probot were going up 'post-patch'..." andTHEN heSTRONGLY recommended that we MDE's stockpile as many Pre-Publish Probots as possible.

If I were a suspicious man.... and I am NOT admitting that I AM a suspicious man... *looks over shoulder for Boba Fett*... well... you know... *grins*
