Thread: CU Droid Testing Information Monday 4/11/05 5:00 am (pst)

Just found a new Issue with the CU and Droid crafting...
Level 5 and 6 Droid Armor modules will be unbuildable post CU, since Composite Armor Segments have been removed from the game. Both Level 5 and 6 Droid Armor Modules require 1 Composite Armor Segment, as part of their schematics.
I updated both this thread, and the one on the CU forums, to highlight this issue.

I thought pets didn't affect group level, or did they change that?
Now that you mention it, I think it wassupposed to be changed so that pets don't add to the combat ranking. I haven't tested any of the pets, so it may be that droids are offering the level increase due to their being a different breed of 'pet'. Good catch.
I believe when that change went through, that grouping summed all the levels of the group....when they changed it so that the group became the highest level of whatever member in the group pets affected it again.
Basically, they didn't want groups of 2-3 people boosting their group level with pets artificially. I suspect the reason the rules changed is 2 fold:
- The way Creature Handler works in the new system
- People could group with anyone else just to raise their group level to that of the other person anyway.
JC, you are confusing me.
My understanding was that if say a level 14 and a 17 grouped together, as a group they would con as something a little higher then a 17. So multiple high powered combat toons would need to group together to have a prayer at killing say a Cl 300 Krayt.
Noware yousaying that a groups level is maxed by the biggest person in the group? Did I miss a memo? That's not how I understand it to work.
Yes, the first couple of days on TC-5 added 14+17 to give you your group level. It is no longer the case that this happens.
Now (on TC-EP3) if a lvl 14 and a lvl 17 grouped together, the group level would be 17. Also, in this situation, there shouldbe no lvl 300 Krayt's ...they will be balanced down to a level a group can take on (I don't have the levels for Krayt's off the top of my head...maybe if I spent more time on Tattooine I would).
The change that is being talked about happened somewhere between these two systems such that:
- If 2 people grouped together, say a level 14 and a level 17, under the first system their group level would be 31.
- Then, if they added a droid/pet/faction pet, their group level would still be ....31
Under the new grouping system:
- If 2 people grouped together, say a level 14 and a level 17, their group levek would be 17
- If they added a droid, their group level would be 18.
At some point this all has to do with the experience gaining system, which Keld explained somewhat last night. But my bottom line point is that change is irrelevent right now except that if you group with a droid, and are lower than the droid, you will be raised to the droid's level. If you are higher, you'll stay your same level.

I am sorry if this has been addresed before but.
Another issue i think i found is that a droid will not attack anything more than a few levels (mmhh, sorry a little vomit came up) higher than the owner it will not attack. Im combat grade 7 (ok that was better) and my probot is 18 with 415 rated combat modules. I went after a combat grade 11 npc and the droid would not attack it at all, this is when being grouped and ungrouped.
So are you saying that if I am CL 1 as just a crafter, my Droid wont even defend me against or attack level 5 creatures?
So far as th CU is of 04/14/05 and my personal tests that is correct. my droid attacked creatures between 1-9 for me but creatures from 11-14 he just stood there making me do all the dirty work. Droids these days dont listen to us any more

Is this testing from todays build, or last nights build?
Last night, I was having no issues with sending my droid in to take out Level 14 mobs, with Drashk being only a Level 6.
There is a bug, which I'm having difficulty gathering information on, that seems to be gumming up the attack commands of a droid, under certain conditions. The Droid will assume the attack posture, and draw aggro, under the Hate system, but will not do any damage to the mob.

Update: as of last nightdroids work as expected other than the guard functionwhich i did not test at the time, and the fact the droid gets frosen somehow and wont attack.
Additional: Since the update do not group with your droids it messes up the combat calculations and makes your combat rating 0 but enemys still con like your grouped before the pach, and you get no adjustments like before.

Ok I give.
Between work and my refusal to ignore my main server responsibilities, I don't have nearly the time for TC as I would like. I can either grind up DE, or fighting using Droids to test them. Since many of you have already mastered DE, I may as well just use your droids if you don't mind.
So if possible, could I get somebody to fill a Droid order for me to use in testing?
I need the following:
1 Probot with the best combat rating, HAM, and armor that can be made.
1 R3 with the same.
1 R3 with one combat module, high HAM, Armor, and 5 auto repair modules.
1 Med Droid, any chasis is fine.
Anybody got any feedback about Stim droids yet? I havn't seen any on the CU forums.
Thank you in advance.
i made MDE last night on TC so i can hook you up when i get on if someone else doesnt get to it before me. Here is a few current (as of 04/14/05) issues with your order in case you want to swich it around:
- level 5 and 6 armor modules are not craftable. Additonally armor does not show up on the droid on examine nor does the combat log show a reduction in damage due to armor like other mobs do.
- droids heal at a alarming rate even faster than a character heals and bacta spray works on them
, making repair modules a moot point if they have not been modified. - I beleive Drashk said that stim dispencers do not accept the new stims.
