So let me clarify this.
I can make an R3 with Data modules 1-6 so that the only Droid a Rebel Pilot needs to buy will be that one Droid?
That's how I'm taking that. That is lame. I mean in all honesty, why would I make anything but the one droid to sell to my customers? Since all droid products are the same, people are buying on the--look droid shop, cool they got one to fit all my flight needs, bingo I buy. Or I can sell them one with a Data module level 1 and *HOPE* they visit my shop for the next 5 and *HOPE* they don't realise that they shop across the street has 1 Droid for 100k(example price) that fits all there flying needs.
I like the idea to introduce flight droid decay, heck even R2 got messed up big time. Otherwise the Droid aspect is an R3 with 6modules for some price I determine, because I'd rather have one Big Sale, then 1 or 2 small ones that don't equal that big sale.
I think you are confused here....
The Astromech Level of the Droid is based upon the Data Storage Rating. This means that if you install more then 1 Data Module on the same droid all you are doing is stacking the modules. If you have a Droid with all 6 Data Modules, then you will end up with a Level 6 Astromech, since the Data Storage Rating is going to be well over the 11 rating that is required to produce a Level 6 Module.

- A novice pilot can ONLY use an R-series droid with a level 1 data module? and that droid needs nothing else in it?
- When the pilot gets his next certification, he must go and buy another R-series droidwith a level 2 data module? etc etc

Yes and no. A Rebel novice pilot with a Z-95, X-Wing or Y-Wing can use a droid with a level 1 Data module in it to store his commands. The droid can have any other modules in it he wants.
- When the pilot gets his next certification, he must go and buy another R-series droidwith a level 2 data module? etc etc
Yes.But this applies to Rebels only since only Z-95, X-wing and Y-Wings take droids.
Is that correct?
And for the ships that don't require an astromech, the pilot has to buy a level 1, level 2 Flight Computer instead? (which he carries around with him?)
Yes, but ANY ship takes flight computers. (even Z-95, X-Wing and Y-Wings) This means that since flight computers will most certainly be cheaper, we will only be selling droids to Rebel Pilots who want the look of a droid in their ship. Bottom line, there's not much market for droids in JtL.

This is correctly ONLY if the Novice pilot is flying a player-made Z-95.

This is correct.

Correct. For any ship that takes a Flight Computer, the 'cert' matches up vs. the player's droid cert level. If they are a Novice, then it would be a level 1 Flight computer.
If they have the first tier droid box, they'd need a level 2 Flight computer (to use droid programs of the tier 1 level).

A Novice Rebel Pilot can use an Astromech Droid in thier ship. Privateers and Imperials can not use Astromechs at this time. A Novice Pilot only has access to a Level 1 Certificaion. The Astromech can have as many module installed on it as you want, as long as one of the modules is a data module of the approriate level.
- When the pilot gets his next certification, he must go and buy another R-series droidwith a level 2 data module? etc etc
A Pilot is not required to use a Droid or Flight Computer, nor does he/she need to use the highest Level Astromech Certification Level. A Pilot can use an Astromech or Computer of the same Astromech Certification Level or any lower then he/she is rated for.
And for the ships that don't require an astromech, the pilot has to buy a level 1, level 2 Flight Computer instead? (which he carries around with him?)
Once Initialized, Flight Computers are stored in the Datapad

Either I've been up for too many hours now, trying to finish up the new DE 101 Guide,or I keep having really bad luck this morning.
I have to clean off both of my monitors for the second time this morning. :![]()
You can stop right there. We (now) know that following canon/continuity is pretty low on the totem pole for what decisions get made about what makes it into the game.

Respectfully,
Yea i know, and they threw that in to give us ome chance to sell a droid at the lower levels. Still i'm wishing that the b-wing will take a droid (even though i know that that chance is slim). The a-wing is specialized so i can see why it doesn't have a droid. On a good note i'll wager that most rebs will be kepping a x-wing and a b-wing in their pads. I know that this is most likely what i'll be doing. I might keep a combat muti-person ship if they don't count the yacht against out max#, which if i've herd corectly is 3.
