OK.......a couple of things folks...

I'm one of the more bitter and caustic DEs these days. JustG just gave us what we have been asking for. We asked for more specific information about what they are working on to fix us, he just gave us that. Now people want more.

"We want more"

"We want it now"

"waaahhhh"

We all knew these fixes weren't going to be fast. I'm leary of any promises from devs, but JustG hasn't given us any reason not to trust him. Unlike Thunderheart who has zero credibility in anything he says these days.

We wanted and answer, even if it were a general overview, thats what we got.

Now put away the torches and pitchforks (just keep them handy )

Yes we knew these fixes were not gonna happen over night. But why did they wait so long to begin doing anything with our profession? They could have started fixing us the first day. I will hoild out till the next big patch. If I see no big improvements, I am dropping this pathetic profession, and going to something else. Yes, I am a bit frustrated. Been a DE since beta and release, and all I have seen from our profession is nerfed Probots, datapads, broken stations, etc...

Then really, why are you still playing ? They told us all resources were going to player cities and mounts and we would get attention afterwords. Mounts and player cities just went live so now they START working on us. Creating new droids is not going to be something that only takes a week or two.

Lets look at what goes into making a new droid....

New artwork...

New Animations...

New AI...

Balancing...

You've known all along that we weren't being fixed, or at least should have known. By what you said above NOTHING is going to make you happy short of the devs travelling back in time making the fixes earlier.

Ultimatums don't work, they never have in these type games, I wonder why people still try to use them.

Ok ok... Ill back off. I take back my "idiot post". But don't come crying to me in april or may, saying we were lied to Again.

Just because a "Different" red name repeats what the rest have been saying for 5 months, doesn't mean our profession is getting fixed. Ive heard that before.

I don't see how JustG saying that January and February will bring new droid types counts as "repeat(ing) what the rest have been saying for 5 months."

I'm not pushing for DE to be fixed so that I can enjoy being a DE. I'm doing it to help this game be more like Star Wars. A plan is all fine and dandy. How many promises does this make so far? How many more will people continue to accept when none are fulfilled? Words alone are meaningless. I am not asking for the plan to be implemented immediately. I want a single bug fix placed on Test Center as evidence that they might actually have a developer working on DEs in any way. Pick an easy one and put it there. While I don't know their code, I do know code. I would suspect that the one dealing with the mislabeling would be the easiest to fix:

F. Item Storage Module 2s coming out as Data Module 2s during the assembly stage. What you seem to get at the end is a Data Module 2. This is only a NAME problem. The module is said to function as it should - as an Item Storage Module 2.

Put action behind the words. Even if it is a tiny little action. Otherwise, we have been down this road before. It leads nowhere.

This might be great for droid engineers. Sadly it has probably come too late for me. Almost all of my friends who were playing this game have already quit. Droid Engineers are not the only ones who have gotten bored and left this pre-release game.

My account was already cancelled but paid up through January. This will likely make me sign up for a month after that to see the new content, but unless the game is so much better that it brings back my friends I will be gone no matter how cool the new droids are.

Oh well.

I do. Its just more promises. We were told that we would be top of the list after the releas of player cities and mounts. Well gues what... ATSTs are the top of the list. Im sorry Rho, I just don't believe it till i see it anymore. I don't like feeling this way either, but I can't help it. Not one red name has actualy come through. So now we wait "another" few months. How about some quick fixes by next week? How about resolving some of the droid issues list?

New combat droids ina few months is great! That is honestly good news (if its true). But areour current droids going to be worked on before or after that?

Why a new low level combat droid? Why not just fix the HAM on DZ70?

Why a new med level combat droid? Why not just fix the HAM onthe Probot

Why must combat droids come before any other droid feature bug? Oh because the combat-types and the Droidika-crowd cried loudest

Why am I not suprised to learn this is after vehicles and next year (as I predicted in another thread a day or so ago)

I dunno, Ellewen... I thought that all along they've said that we'd be top priority after vehicles. I'm SURE I've read this.

The game was released 6 months to one year early. I don't think anyone can dispute that.

As a consequence of this, whatever systems were hacked into place for support purposes are temporary scaffolding, but it's MUCH harder to remove such scaffolding when you've got offices sitting on it!

They released the game with major subsystems missing, and with professions unfinished. In particular, cities, mounts, vehicles and spaceships were all still dreams of the future. Unfortunately, those dreams were items that were listed as basic game features, not ones the player base would have to wait for.

So the developers have been in crisis mode for months now, trying to effectively finish the game while simultaneously supporting live servers. This is CRAZY, and a very bad business decision, and an even worse development decision.

That being said, they KNEW, without a doubt, what their top priorities had to be: Get the unwritten systems into the game. They HAD to do this, no negotiation, no choices, no arguments. The first few months they were just scraping by, trying to keep things from falling apart altogether. After a little while, they got things under a BIT more control (though far from perfect), so in November we got our cities and mounts, and in December we should see vehicles. After that, Droid Engineering suddenly becomes a real issue, and some of the talent that's been working overtime on other features can now be turned to our droids.

Define "Low Level Combat Doird". Another DZ70? *sigh* and "Medium level Combat Droid"? hmm...

Just currious what they mean by this.
