**I speak this as a Master Artisan leaning towards DE until they move vehicles into their own profession, but more importantly as a Star Wars fan who doesn't want to see combat droids in the post-Clone War era.**

If you don't like them, don't make them.

Simple eh, if you don't like whats on the TV, don't watch it.

I don't understand hypertensive busy-bodies out to prevent someone else from having something. I don't particularly favor nerfs for anyone. I prefer they add content slowly and carefully to balance things out. Since, however, the developers were in a hurry to add too much functionality for some professions they will hit those professions with the nerf bat. After being bludgeoned by the nerf bat DE are finally getting some good stuff. If you don't like that - don't buy one or don't make them. Leave those of us that will enjoy the changes in the game alone.

I love the maturity level on these boards. All I have to do is say, "No combat droids," and all the commando-wannabe DEs come in here and start screaming.

I too enjoy hunting sometimes. But, that's what the combat classes are for. I hereby revise my position. None of the other crafting professions get special certifications for combat. Maybe it's because they're crafting professions.

The other thing is that people don't realize that I don't support the CH profession as it is. It should be non-combatant pets and mounts only, in my opinion. But the fact is that it's not going to change. Why make droids just another part of this faulty system?

I swear, you people are the same ones that will clamor for Chiss just because Thrawn was serving the Empire at this point, and thus it would fit continuity that Chiss would be all over the place. And hey, Zabraks are already in, so why not blow continuity even farther away?

and where do you see Zabraks in EP IV-VI ? No continuity here, especially with overt rebels being able to invade the Emporers compound area etc. Purists won't find purity in a game like this.

That's my point. Why make the continuity problems worse if there are viable alternatives? All I'm asking for is to make it so not all professions are combat classes. CH being one is bad enough. BH shouldn't be completely combat, either, which it basically is right now. DEs go combat, what next? Architects have destroyer houses that follow them around? IDs get to have a special "make ugly" attack that makes you so ugly that you fall over and die?

Also, you realize that the timeframe for this game is between Episodes IV and V? Exactly within the timeframe I was speaking of?

This is a game set in the backdrop of the Star Wars universe during a set time frame - roughly, key word...GAME, not a Re-creation of the movies! 1/6 of all players are a race that the official Star Wars Data base doesn't even mention. Wookies and Mon Cals are running around free when during this time they were Slaves mostly, the purity you seek can't exist in a MMORPG that appeals to the broad customer base SOE is after...those with $49.00 and $14.00 a month.

Petition fora roleplay only server if you want purity, otherwise, dont impose your puritanical view of how the profession should work on the masses who pay the same money as the numbers of you who want to relive the movie script.

How'd you get a discount?

Let me tell you this, we absolutely LOVE our jobs. And we LOVE this game. We are dedicated to doing whatever we can to enhance your play experience. And it usually only takes one fan's blood to drift off...

Very simple. Because it's a game, most people do NOT want to craft, they want to fight, and it makes it that much more fun for a whole lot more people.

I always find the "I want a real world!" people entertaining. They come in, try to cram their vision down the throats of masses who don't want it, and then scream that they're immature when they don't agree.

I have a question here.

There is a real seperation of thought here...

Some want DE's to be a "crafter-only" profession while others want the "combat/crafter" mix...

What are your thoughts?

To be fair, there is a minority of DEs who dislike intro'ing combat to the DE profession. They either don't like combat, or they don't want Gunner DEs clouding the profession (like the dabbler CHs) and driving down prices. If you bow to them, then the rest of us DEs interested in better combat droids won't get squat. On the other hand, if you give us combat droids, non-combatant DEs are free to roleplay their characters all the way to crafting nirvana and combatant DEs get to rock the house; this way everyone gets what they want.

Are you going to make Weaponsmith a "combat/crafter" mix - hey, they can MAKE weapons, why shouldn't they be able to be highly effective using them, too? How about Chef (they can already poison people pretty well with stat loss bugs)? I know, maybe the feared Ninja Tailor?

There is no"Combat/Crafter" mix in the game. ( a medic is the closest since they make the stims they use )

Weaponsmiths make weapons. Armorsmiths make armor. Architects make installations. Droid Engineers make droids.

None get advantages to the actual "use" of their products.

Well, we want combat droids, and most of us want to be able to use all of them, but I don't think we want to be the sole users of our combat droids, we'd like to be able to sell them to someone, even if it is like a master squadleader, ora master pistoleer useing a combat droid that uses a pistol type weapon, and so on and so forth.
