Barf you made it easy to see the fault in this DH debate. DE's seem to be making bad analogies. CH is to DH as McDonalds is to Taco Bell. Kinetic Energy to Blaster energy. Yes i see all three: pets, droids and weapons as the same.

But youre a pure crafting class. Not a hybrid and if you are going to be a hybrid you need to be require hybrid skills.

FOR THE RECORD I AGREED THE CLASS NEEDS FIXED. I just dont see the DH class as something that is innately something that should be in the DE tree alone.

The PlutonMon

To make your anology fair, they should REQUIRE CH to master the scout professions. you see, DE's have no chouice. We are the only class that must master our starting profession (the ones that takethe most points) just to be able to craft ANY of our mid level items. If they change it to you havign to waste all your skill points as a scout, then I will be more than happy to entertain your idea that we should be equal. Thank you drive on.

LOL you dont "have to master" anything you got one tree. lol learn to read your requirements before dismissing anyone. Thank you for playing today.

Ive tried to have a rational discussion here and it takes one flamer to pull it down. troll somewhere else or add something constructive.

Hey Pluto,

Why not actually check out what a DE requires sometime.

ALL of our mid level droids require droid brains. Droid brains REQUIRE command chips and general purpose electronic chips. Over 60 of our schematics REQUIRE items made in the master artisan profession. We are the ONLY class that has this penalty. Before coming on our board whining because your class is overpowered, why not research what we have to do. Or better yet, why not actually try being a de. But that would require too much thought on your part.

Pluto, in all honesty you are right there is one tree in Artisan..but the fact is we are so dependent on MA parts it's just not practical for most. Some people do it, but most find MA is very needed. I can't remember the number of dependencies..but it's a lot more than comfortable.

Just for info

lol again you mispeak. Like you we too require our better pets to come from BE's so we too have dependings. And i never whined my pets were overpower you brought it up. So we both have dependencies because you choose to use skill points to remove that dependency doesnt make it a requiremtn. But if you want to keep that line of argument then it is better sed that CH's require 2 Scout trees and to Master BE to be Master CH.

If youre gonna vomit false information, dont be suprised when i tell you its messy and stinks.

Again Pluto you show your ignorance.

you see, you can STILL tame above cl10 pets as a master CH. You don't have to have a BE to get them. Can a BE make better ones? Yes. A DE does not have that choice. The only droids a DE can make without being master artisan are MSE droids and D270 droids. Any higher function droid REQUIRES parts from master artisan.

Again a 60% resist BE pet is required, you want to complain i dont know your class but you obviously dont know mine.

Pluto,

Myself, along with the majority of the rest of the DE community DO NOT want a DH class, nor do they want a DE to control Droids. I do not want either. The problem with a DH profession is that it is the exact same thing as CH profession. I don't want to be a CH who controls droids...lol.

I also think that a DE should not be hte only profession able to control UBER combat droids. That would take away my customers and our economy. We would be self-sufficient, which is not right.

Please read my post here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=droid_engineer&message.id=55037

When you read that post, I am sure you will agree it is a much more sufficient and original idea...complimenting CH as a Profession of its own. Droids would not be regarded to as a profession. Rather those droids would help you with your profession (NOT BE YOUR PROFESSION). If that makes sense.

Anyhow, I think my comments here are getting confusing. Just please read the post for which I provided a link.

I believe droids are equal to pets.

As a CH if i want 3-4 weapons out i had to use skill points.
As a non CH if i want weapons i dont use skill points.
As a CH i have a range of weapons i can use.
As a non CH i have CL10 weapons.
As a DE i dont believe i have to spend skill points to have 3-4 weapons.
As a DE i believe everyone should have what weapon they choose.
As a CH who worked hard to have 3-4 weapons i believe others should do the same.
As a DE who wants to have 3-4 weapons i blame pets on americans and dont realize that asking for 3-4 droids is like the BE asking for the same thus eliminating both the market i want and neutralizing the CH profession.

Am i reading all the replies correctly so far? Really i want to understand your point.

This is the problem with DEVS of today...there is no creativity...there is no diversity...there is no fun.

When you make everything exactly the same as everything else, then you really only have 1 thing that looks different in every way, but nothing ever accomplishes anything different.

Does that make sense? If you can't understand that, you should NOT become a game DEV.

Especially with RPG games. Each class should have its own uniqueness about it. Every class should be nearly a different game when you play it, not just different graphics (creature compared to droid) shown on the screen. Ideally, each individual skill and profession in every RPG game should look different, act different, be different and provide a separate goal for each profession. That IS what makes a game fun. A game is NO fun if everything seems the same no matter what you do. That would be like saying IRL working as a hamburger flipper accomplishes the same thing as being a scientist; you get paid the same and your goals are accomplished in the same way. WRONG...that would mean either the hamburger flipper would have to design a new-space aged flipper that never sticks and never needs to be cleaned or the scientist would have to figure out how to salt his Mars ROVER before feeding it to the Aliens...lol.

Please see this statisics on swgcraft.com
http://www.swgcraft.com/profstats.php?prof=dre

As you can see the three most needed components are Electronics Memory Modules (MA), Droid Sensor Package and Electronics GP module (MA). The fifth component on the list needs a control unit, a MA item. A ADV droid brain, number 9, needs four identical EMM and 4 identical EGP modules. And the list goes on.
Yes, you can be a DE without being a Master Artisan. But not a good one. In my opinion it would be the same as if a Master CH could only use pets up to CL 30 untill he masters the BE profession.

They have fixed the socket exploit so that you can now only put sockets into socket slots.

This means that an advanced R3 is the only droid that will be able to have six modules now.

An advanced R3 takes 2 advanced brains in the chasis and an advanced motive system. That is 8 EMM's and 8 GP modules, plus one control unit.

So, we got the chasis, we are now at 17 master artisan items.

Now, lets put some stuff in it.

Lets say we go for two crafting stations, a droid repair module, L6 medical module, L6 data and L6 item, plus L6 armor. We are really gonna stock this thing up

So, what MA parts do we need?

  • Crafting stations - no MA parts

  • L6 Medical module - 1 GP, 3 EMM

  • L6 Data - 1 GP, 3 EMM

  • L6 Item - 1 GP, 3 EMM

  • L6 armor - 1 composite armor segment (made by an armorsmith)

So, to make this droid, we need a total of:

11 GP modules
17 EMM's
1 control unit

For a total of 29 master artisan parts! Plus, the armorsmith made composite armor segment.
