Holy crap!
I use my Probot out when I am doing Harvestors, pulled it today, and it totally tore up some Voritors.
Thank you Devs. What I don't understand is why they didn't let us know it was coming.
Thank you a ton though!

It appears this stealth change has had some negative consqeuences as well. I have a non-combat (non-DE) alt character who bought a combat probot droid several months ago as protection when out surveying. When I tried to call him today, I was told I have no chance of controlling the droid. I don't remember what level it was before (I'm guessing level 10) but it was either level 18 or 19 now and has become totally useless.

Yep, my fault. Sorry. My crafting droid must have still been sitting in my house when I trying to call the probot. Oops

Sounds like someone was trying to call more then one droid or a pet and a droid out at the same time.
The Level on droids has been changed for almost 9 months now. The only time you recieve that message is if you are trying to call out more then your alloted pets

Nope. Don't have any other pets. Just the probot droid. When I saw this thread I thought maybe the changes to the droid speed also changed the level. Either that or I'm just plain bugged.
EDIT: Oh wait. Maybe I did, now that I think about it. I had a crafting droid out earlier and I may not have put it away. Thanks, I'll have to check that out to be sure.

Easiest way to check whether you have a droid out or not now is to check each droids datapad radial.
If a droid or pet is called, the radial will list as store. The Datapad radial menu updates correctly 100%(TM) of the time now.

Drashk doesn;t need support, but he is right.
I "think" Le's are like R series droids for speed.

I just did a test with two Adv R2s.
Both had the same combat rating, but one had a HAM of 3555 and the other had max HAM of 4500. The only experimentation was on effectivness on the final build. The modules used came from identical crates.
Their stats were as follows.
Droid 1
HAM 3555
Combat Rating 549
Attack Speed 1.92
To Hit 0.34
Damage 153-162
Droid 2
HAM 4500
Combat Rating 549
Attack Speed 1.5
To Hit 0.41
Damage 153-162

Hmm...
I just ran a test using 600 Rated R3 Units, using various Resources and Effectiveness Experimentation. Obo_alCan, it would appear that I owe you an apology. You are correct.
It would appear that the Effectiveness Experimentation on the Deed does directly effect the speed and to hit of a droid.
I'm not sure when this changed, but to my knowledge this has not always been the case. I have a couple of droids that I built on TC that can prove it that I built in the last 6 months.
Good catch Obo_alCan

Hehe, no problem.
I had to run off and do those tests right away, as I just spent a week of people doubting my opinion when I knew I was right
. Was having flashbacks.
If it changed, it would have had to have done so twice. Because I remember we discussed this before, just after our two publishes, and doing these tests at that time with the same conclusions.
Maybe the ones you had were a result of a temporary TC only change? In the middle of a publish test perhaps?

Wow, that definitly did change. I have had 1000 OQ chemical for like forever, got lucky, it spawned whenI first started. Yet my speeds got better and better as my Combat modules did.
I owe an apology as well.

I recently made a probot with (3) 50 combat modules and (2) 11 harvesting modules, or is it the other way?, no matter I'm going to make one with 4 combat and 1 harvester. Oh back to what i was saying, mine looked like it was firing quite fast.
Speed is attacked to the droid itself, not the combat rating. Combat speed is affected by the same experimentation line as HAM is.
