Thread: Aces! Probot with attitude!

Great Job, is the probot still making the spitting pet noise though?
For that kind of fire rate, it can sing Barbra Streisand if it wants to.
EDIT: Oh yeah... my combat R2 with a 329 rating and 1.52 speed got a noticeable increase as well. Not as fast as the probot, of course, but still nice.

This is correct.
When your droidattacks a static un moving spawn, it will attack at what should be the correctly listed attack rate. When the Droid is firing at moving targets, the rate of fire becomes wonky since it constantly repositions and changes its tactics. If you have seen your Probot move into Melee Combat Range, and stay there, it will again attack at the listed combat speed rating.
Well, we got jumped a few times by a plains hunter, and I did test it on other mobs, and yes, I still noticed a highly noticeable increase in firing rate, even with the target moving. I don't have much "sample data" for versus moving targets, since my probot is my tank. (Meaning the target wasn't moving since it was attacking him)
Hopefully I can get word out about this, because combat droids just got even more useful in my opinion.

I believe it's based on the combat rating of the droid.
Sounds like you're making a very underpowered droid there. Might be more useful to stick 6 harvest mods in an R3 and 5 combat in the Probot. Unless you're pressed for Datapad space it would bea much better alternative.
Well as you can see in my signiture im not a master DE, i do it for the fun. nor am i a power gamer, the droid with 2 harvest pulls about the same as it i would do it my self so im not worried about it. and combat is more important to me for backup.

The Probot will do more damage at first but in my tests nothing could be a self healing tank ADV R3 (Autoheal 98, Combat 100) .... it stays in combat much longer (also thanks to the better batteries now) and gets the job done. The tank also has a tendency to stay at maximum distance which reduces the damage it takes while the probot is hopping all over the place.
I tend to send in a CR 600 probot as kamikaze to put a dent into the enemy and then start the real fight with my tank droid. Needs some repairs every week or so.
Was a nice way to kill stormtrooper squads with a toon that has combat experience worth spit.
Have fun
