I don't know what they were originally for and i don't know what they will some day be for, but right now i use them for the following:
1. take out BLL droid
2. Set droid to follow random PC (groupmate, guy at the bazaar, whatever)
3. See how long it takes them to figure out that they're being stalked.
It's a cheap thrill, but i still find it entertaining on occassion
I've just started doing this to any CHs or Imperials that I see running through town with Large creatures, or AT-STs, walking behind them.

LOL! Oh god, that is hilarious! We all need a sense of humor here.

I laughed out loud (at work) when I read this. I have a great cartoon (can't remember the source). It's a guy sitting in front of a monitor full of zeroes and ones. The keyboard has three keys "0" "1" and "Enter". The caption reads "Reall programmers code in binary."
So far my best (and only) use for a BLL has been to have one named 'USELESS-Please-fix-DE' and have it either follow me or patrol while I do other things. It has gotten a lot of LOLs, and a few inquiries as to what is useless about it, but its better than nothing.
