No overcharging here. Already got about 20 pre-orders for them. Based on current resources needed, I'm going to be selling at 7500 for speederbike/swoop and 10K for Landspeeder.

On the other hand, I HATE the Coronet Starport Plaza.)

I hate it too, especially since it was the center of the CH overpricing on my server when mounts rolled out. I plan to take about 120 vehicle deeds (roughly 2 hours production from my 3 factories) over there, charging 7500 for a bike and 10K for a Land Speeder, thus undercutting and depriving the con artists that will undoubtedly appear there.

I know already you guys are gonna rip people of the ch's did it with mounts and nwo yuo guys gonna do it.

We aren't con artists. Besides, unlike the CHs did, we'll have competition from Architects, Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths on launch day. If we try to rip someone off, they'll have options.

To use this as a selling point would be a flat-out lie. Experimentation does absolutely nothing to improve durability, speed or anything else on vehicles.

Lots of polish details to vehicles aren't in yet. They all run the same speed, damage and decay aren't there, etc. I think experimentation is just another one of those polish details. I have a bit of confidence it'll be there on go-live day.

I'm going to make about 5-10 , then turn off my take and put it on novice chef or something..

A handy way to handle that kind of tell storm is just to go into Options, set your AFK message to a custom response about vehicles and set yourself AFK.

That's about 6 credits/unit and fair IMO. In fact, it seems that's exactly the price they're settling in to on Test Center. It still needs a bit of time though, with the commodity cluster down over the weekend.

I would not be surprised if the schematic changes also before it goes live.

It could , but I bet not. Changing the schematic would invalidate all the crafting testing done over on Test Center and they'd have to basically start over tracking any crafting issues!

However, Eng IV can be achieved in just a couple of hours of work. So you can bet that everyone and their grandmother will have Env IV after the vehicles go live.

problem is half the people I know say they are grinding to Eng IV to be ready for the vehicle rush. So that percentage will raise considerably before the publish.

But many player who have the money to burn lots of resources just to gain Eng IV probably have one or two elite Professions, thus without any, or only a few skillpoints left. I myself surley won't ditch my DE skills (let's just pretend they are not based on Engineer skills) to make a vehicle, when allmost all advanced crafting professions are based on Engineer IV.
Bottom line? I don't know what will happen. maybe there is a rush for the EngIV skill, maybe not. ANd maybe the vehicle schematics get moved to Master Artisan, which I would love to see.
(and yes, I'm a Master Artisan . I guess most DE are)

I'll charge whatever the market bears.... obviously I'll try to get as much as I can. Doesn't mean that's ripping people off - means free market.

I will be starting out at 10 CPU for bikes and speeders, so with our current information I'll be charging 12.5k for bikes and 17k for speeders. I'm sure that my price will drop over the first few days as supply begins to catch up with demand, though. My final price will likely be roughly 7.5k for a bike and 10k for a speeder. Any lower than that and it's just not worth my time to make them.

I'll have my factories building them as fast as I can and will then go sit in Theed while I'm waiting for the factory runs to complete. (Can't stand Coronet and I'm based on Naboo anyway.)

This is true to an extent. However, for the non-Eng Artisan this is 14 skillpoints. For the non-Artisan it's 29 skillpoints. How many people are really going to surrender those points from somewhere? After all, in a poll taken about remaining skill points a while ago, a vast majority of players who responded were maxed out.

The other factors that will limit this are: do they have a good distribution mechanism in place (do they have vendors? Do they have the means to advertise them on the map)? Do they have equipment factories? Will they have harvested or otherwise obtained enough resources to make enough vehicles to really mean anything? Will experimentation make a difference in the end?

I think Architects by far will make and sell the largest number of vehicles - they're not only the highest percentage of the Eng rooted elites, but they have access to vast caches of resources and have the distribution mechanisms and customer bases.

I think it will actually be DEs that make the most, not architects. Architects typically don't have equipment factories, just structure factories. Also, their bulk resources are ores, not metals. DEs are the only crafting profession that regularly keeps around bulk amounts of metal for their day to day requirements and have equipment factories ready to roll with to push out hundreds of them. I know I have 5 factories ready to roll as soon as the patch lands. I could quite easily flood the market by myself with little effort should I choose to do so. I already have pre-orders for 20 vehicles and I'm picking up 3-5 a day right now, with very little advertising.

That's FOTM Syndrome, and is to be expected. Long term, however, I think it will all balance out. If you know you can just buy a low-end vehicle for 5-10k, a lot of folks would rather do that than take all the time to grind to EngIV (also ruled out of you've already maxxed your skill points...).

My shop already has Look for Vehicles Soon in its name. And any tells I get, I will just email them my vendor location, which I plan to keep well stocked with all 3 types of vehicles.

I have to agree, I would have like to have seen Master Artisans only able to make them. Engy 4 for some of the pre-teens is easy to get in 6 good hours of power crafting.

Now Master Artisan on the other hand would truly hinder the "Make a fast buck" players.

Some of us have always been Master Artisans and have yet to surrender it and won't.
