Thread: Metrics: Be Ready to Make Vehicles

Here is some comforting metrics analysis from the last character statistics dump done 10/20 ( http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/content.jsp?page=Character%20Metrics:

  • 34.84% of players had Novice Artisan

  • However, only 5.05% of players held Novice in an elite profession stemming from Engineering IV:

    • 1.68% Architect

    • 1.53% Weaponsmith

    • 0.93% Armorsmith

    • 0.91% Droid Engineer

This means that only that 5.05% of players plus a likely much smaller number who are only Eng IV will be able to craft vehicles. Considering that everyone will want a vehicle and probably less than 10% of players will be able to make them, it seems there will be plenty of opportunity here for us to sell them.

Remember also that as many of us are Master Artisans, we will have a huge quality selling point here. With our experimentation points, we will be able to craft higher qualty, more duable vehicles than those merely holding Engineering IV. That's a great selling point for our barks, and sure to attract more customers who would like their vehicles to hold up better.

As I said in another thread, hold on. We're going to mint some cash off this.

I hope so, because I am so tired of digging in the couch for loose change to buy extrusive ore.

Are there any recommendations for the kind of materials we will need to build these? I remember hearing about some metal, some non-metal. What will be the primary attributes that contribute to the various experimentaiton branches so we know what to mine for?

Thanks,

Nice research Kurt.

5.05% is a nice low number. 0.91% is a nicer, lower number, but I'll take 5%.

For Speederbike/Swoop Speederbike: 1000 Ferrous Metal, 250 Non-Ferrous Metal

For Landspeeder: 1250 Ferrous Metal, 450 Non-Ferrous Metal

Experimentation is 100% affected by the Shock Resistance attribute of your resources.

Actually I don't think most DEs will rip people off. The type of player that has stuck with this profession is not the same type of average who plays CH (uber chasers).

I'll be selling them for 7 - 10 k probably.

I guess I will be selling them for around 15k. And then I'll make a screenshot of a MCH who tries to sell his mounts for 100k
(Disclaimer: not all MCH are sobs. I personally know two Master CH who are actually nice, decent people. On the other hand, I HATE the Coronet Starport Plaza.)

They're right. See, DE's have been going so long with generally worthless products that we haven't learned how to rip people off. We treasure a customer base because we know how **edit** hard it is to work when you *have* no customer base, or a very small one.

Plus, since we can clearly discern what it costs to make these things, we can explain to our customers *why* we're pricing the way we are. Priced based on resources used. Tack on a small service fee, and bam, there's our price.

How do Creature Handlers explain their pricing? The time it takes to "grow" them? The value of having skilled up to level 4 in Empathy to get the simple "train mount" command? They can't price as easily as we can....they have nothing concrete to base it on.....couple that with the fact that demand for them was sudden and more than they could keep up with, and heck yeah, the greed got to their heads.

But for us, there will be no greed. Every elite profession will be able to make them. The market will be wide open. Demand may be high, but the supply will be right there with it. We won't have any trouble keeping up with the purchase orders, so we won't feel any greedy desires to raise the price while we can get away with it.

Can We have Someone throw the bull S*** flag please. Before Mounts Bio Engeneer's were uselless. Now they are the God's of the server. For Once there's something that might make us valuable in the univers. It takes less then acouple of hours to make ENG IV

I am really getting sick of being the worst thing since Squad Leader(Sorry guys)

It's bad Enough BH's don't need us thanks to an exploit or creation of a system where there droids neverget used up.

Come on please someone start a petition or something we are yet again just anouther peace of furnature

To use this as a selling point would be a flat-out lie. Experimentation does absolutely nothing to improve durability, speed or anything else on vehicles.
