harvesters cannot be attacked to 1 didn't happen.

if you think it was a bug then report it, but from what you're saying it doesn't sound like you quite understand how they work. paying it up to 100% is NOT sufficient for it to work. you have to pay maintenance in excess of 100% to prevent it from dropping below 100%. as soon as it drops below 100% the harvester becomes damaged and stops functioning.

as for combat. you really should pick up a combat profession on the side and train in it as needed. you can always surrender the combat skills later when you run out of skill points for the crafting professions. but by the time that happens you should be pretty self sufficient and won't need to do combat missions any longer in order to make money.

Try Bestine (please, I need the money).

>If you put them up for sale just anywhere, then they won't sell well and might not sell at all.

Well that is kind of obvious

>The best thing to do is to take a ship to Coronet on Corellia and put your resources up for sale there. If you put them up for sale anywhere else, it is going to take much longer for them to sell unless you lower the price significantly.

I swear i will never trael to coronet as long as i live. The city lags my machine so much it can take me an hour to move around the starport. No other place is like this. Possibly because of the stupidity of allowing creature handlers to let their gargantuan beasts and loadlifters and vehicles to run aroiund like a mad menagerie.

Bestine is a horrible choice. No wonder it isn't selling. When I say major city I don't mean any major city. I mean one of the cities in which there are always 100's of players at any given time. That is NOT Bestine. It is Coronet on Corellia. Or Theed on Naboo.

If you lag heavily on the popular cities that may actually be a problem. I'm sorry to hear that. But so you know, the lag is likely caused by your video card btw. try turning all the graphics options to a minimum level when you visit a city like that and see if it helps.

In any case, yourproblem selling on the Bazaar is this: the very fact that you don't lag when you visit the city means its not a popular city. And the very fact that it is not a popular city means your resources will be harder to sell there. You need to fix the lag problem, or just accept the fact that your wares will not sell well on the bazaar.

cool. i'd suffest taking pistols all the way to novice pistoleer and then surrendering brawler. if you are going for crafting you can't afford to spread out your combat skills too much. I ama 1/1/0/0 novice rifleman in addtion to a master merchant and a master artisan, and I hold my own in combat quite well.

your choice of medic and scoutare also good choices. though you may find you have to givesome of thoseup eventually. (I had to abandon both medic and scout in order to make from for master merchant).

Let me assure you that i do know how i work, What i am saying is that they were stocked with maintenance and power AND running at 100%, i am aware that you have to pay money to get them back to 100% before they can be fuelled. What i am saying is thet they were working and were fuelled, and frankly i cant be bothered to report it. Sorry.

it still sounds like you don't understand. you don't just pay them up to 100% and then fuel them. you pay them up to 100%, fuel them, AND drop another couple thousand extra credits in them to cover extended maintenance costs for the next few days. If you don't do that latter, they'll shut off in a few hours and become damaged.

I cnat keep saying this: they were maintained to a 100% and fuelled and paid for 1 days use (or switched off). I visit them every 24 hours. the status tells me they are fully maintained and paid up and powered up. i do understand how harvesters work the game however just decided to have them break down. there is nothing else to consider.

as far as crap cities and good cities; i went to a place i as a player wanted to go - Tatooine. Stupidly i thought that would be fun. its hardly as if the manual tells you the most popular places. unfortunately coronet, on any graphics setting, eats my computer alive. this would be solved by the developers instituting one simple ploicy: BAN pets from cities (vehicle use doesnt help either). This is not fantasyland, its star wars where the Empire rules. people dont wander the streets with their pet godzillas in tow.

Serpent, before you start the game, go to the options panel. Turn off shaders. You cannot do this from within the game, start at the front.

And, it seems you really do not understand about harvestors as the others have said. Resources shift. The cycles are 6-9 days for minerals/chems/gas, and they don't all shift at once. They shut down because there was nothing to harvest. They are destroyed because there was not enough maintenance in them to last more than 24hrs. A correctly maintained harvestor should need visiting no more than once every 3-4 days, where that second visit is to pick them up and shift them to the next spot (for personals it's actually cheaper to just destroy rather than re-deed too).

Again you do not understand. Resource shift has nothing to do with it. The harvesters were fully maintained. That is what i am saying to you. They were only paid for 24 hours because i check them every 24 hours (i cant afford to pay them to run on their own longer). i know full well how harvesters work and these ones havent. i cant keep on saying this.

*SIGH*

No use trying to explain to the guy. Just let this thread die into oblivion. He obviously is being persecuted by his harvesters, no other possibilty exists.

Most mmorpgs use the same formula as there's not a great deal alse that can be done. If you look at just about any mmorpg you find the following:

1) General combatclasses - kill a mob get xp, loot it and sell gear.

2) General crafting - grind the most economic recipe to get enough xp to actually be able to make something useful

3) General delivery missions - get message and deliver to point a (or if the developers have been especially imaginative deliver to point a, b, c then d)

4) General kill missions.... ok I'm bored now but you can see the point.

At the end of it all, most mmorpgs are the same game rehashed with a different skin. I'm not knocking the fact as I love the games and after a few hours thought (over a few years) I can't see any way that it can be changed a great deal with current technology. Higher bandwidth and extremely powerful servers would be needed to create a truely dinamic evolving world for 2000+ players.

BTW, if you are bored of missions for cash, look into harvesting. Any char can make 20 - 30k a day minimum doing this.

I've tried every crafting prof. Other than Architect and WS, it's hard to make any money before Master. For me, the challenge of building up a clientel and finding interesting ways to promote Droids was the whole fun of climbing the DE tree. If it isn't challenging, it's invariably boring.

You've only been playing for less than a month! Sigh, it took me over9 weeks to make Master DE from the time I activated my account. Sigh, if you're in a rush to master something fast and cheap, become a Entertainer...

bust my ass for 2 weeks going from novice artisan starting out in the game to novice droid engineer.

What an incredibly boring expeerience.

This game has no depth; sorry thats how I feel. All you do is either:

1. take a package from a to b (slow and tedious), get paid a tiny amount.
2. shoot some monstes/baddies.
3. sell things youve made (if you are smart enough to pick a class that affords the ability to build useful things).

As a novice DE i get the ability to build a tiny lump of crap that does nothing of any use. If i want to progress up the tree (and one can only hope that these droids do become useful) I need a ton of resources which will cost me a small forunte so more stupid missions. yawn. same old same old. 48000 droid exp to get to even level 1 in any single tier! this will take a lifetime of watching the screen and clicking the resources.

I dont mind doing the work (how do you think i got this far?), but this is taking the proverbial! Artisn and its associated professions are a joke. This game revolves around combat simplyu beause its the greatest payoff in the game but even that is dull (its just a pet-fest). artisans get nothing for their efforts and have to pay to continue building. what do they get in return, a bunch of crappy useless schematics for items no one wants, and now as a novice droid engineer all i can build is a single mouse droid with a choice of nothing to progeam it with? Wow im sure they wil fly off the shelves!

To be honest, i am finding it very very difficult to find the incentive to struggle further up this ladder. I wish i had never botherd with artisan to begin with (the manual said it led to smuggler but thats obviously been changed - great!) because its a joke. there have got to be better ways to spend my time than pretending that i have a useful role in a galaxy far far away when the reailty is that i dont, and i doubt droid engineer is going to change before my free month runs out.

Ok, personally I'm sick of the whining. If you don't like what you're playing, then don't PLAY!!! I'm soooooo sick of all the rants about threatening to quit or whining that it is boring. If it is boring, then cancel your account and go play something else.No one is forcing you to play this game and be bored. If it is so boring why do all of you force yourselves to play this game? Just friggin quit and let those of us that do find some fun in it enjoy it.

By the way, most MMORPG's are boring games with nothing else to do but run stupid missions, fight monsters, and craft stuff. If you don't like this, then try playing a bloody shooter game. RPG's aren't for you anyway if you complain about taking two weeks to do anything. Heck 2 weeks ain't nothing.
