Thread: How much creds do you make a day?
Dang how do you guys make all this mad money? I am only A novice with only blueprint I but how do you do this? I cant make any money off of this proffession. I got to be doing something Wrong and if so Plz let me know. lol.
/deepbow to all MDE's.
If there are any Master Droid Engineers on the Shadowfire server that get on about 6:30 pm PST and could help me with some issues Plz come to theed and help me out. Thanx.
So how do I do it? I think it is a mix of several things really. First of all I think I have been around for quite some time now. I try to treat the customers with respect and as someone mentioned earlier I am actually excited about droids, no matter how much they lack right now. That is probably the most important part. Lots of people know that my vendors are usually well stocked, so I get lots of returning customers.
The next point is to try to have a good location. DEs are usually a rare breed, we are on Shadowfire anyway, so try to look around for a nice mall with lots of customers and ask the owner if you can put up a vendor or two. I am sure he will say yes, as it will increase the value of his mall too. Then just try to keep it well stocked at ALL times. This requires some planning. An excel spreadsheet or so really helps.
Also I no longer even bother with low level droids. Once you are a master stick to the good stuff.
So here is what usually sells most:
R2 Droid (crafting station x, 110% medical module, 10 item storage) for 17k
Surgical Droid (food/chem craft, 110% medical) for 17k
Probots with max armor and either 110% med or 10 item storage for 15k
R3s, BLLs and Protocols I do as custom orders.
And of course the BH droids in crates. Also make sure that you will have droid batteries in crates at all times. People need them and maybe they buy another droid or two when they come back for those batteries.
I hope this (and the next patch) helps to get some additional sales.
Master DE- 20-40K per day, max 120k
Master Weaponsmith- 50-80K per day, max 250k
Master Artisan- 40-120k per day, max 400k
And I have harvester/house/vendor costs of 17,000 per day. As you can see, I make money as a DE, but Weapons/Vehicles really make the difference between being poor, and having spare cash. This is with 2 vendors always stocked with at least 1 and usually 2 of each type of weapon there is, and 20 droids per vendor at all times from mouse with crafting station to Adv R3 with crafting/medical/storage/repair mods. And lots of others in between.
The advent of all the "Holocron" crafters has increased demand for droids with crafting stations. But 90% of my mail orders are for cheapest droid that can hold a crafting station.
I lose about 3000 a day trying to keep my harvesters running, and have to run missions to support those. My vendor appears to be almost completely useless, although on a very rare occassion someone will grab one my of 5k R4s.
Maybe I'll go back to grinding out R5s for the bazaar.
I am a master DE on Ahazi and I make about 100,000k a day.
The key to making the cash as a DEin the game is to sell a little of everything. For Example...
Seekers and Akaryds (by the crate is best), these are used by bounty hunters.
Droid batteries by the crate, i find i make them in crates of 25, but there will be actually 100 in the crate
Droid frames, keep everything from the mse to the binary load lifter.... they make great art, aswell from what i understand the adv protocol droid frame is used by architects now to make the shuttle ports for player cities
Sell every type of droid deed... i dont normally keep the lower end ones around, but some people like the looks of them
Make factory crates of droid storage modules, i dont know what they are used for by architects, but they buy them
now not all novices can make these items, but you can make alot of them, also be sure to tell the buyer what modules are in the droids
I make anywhere from 0 to 150k in a day. My average is probably only in the 20-30k per day range, mostly because I don't advertise and my Naboo location (my shop) is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere. I do a pretty brisk business in Bounty Hunter Droids from my Tatooine location in the Bounty Hunters Alliance PA Hall, but that also ebbs and flows.
I make far more money from mining and selling resources and power than I do from making and selling Droids. My Droid business is sufficient to pay for all of my maintenance (house, factory, 2 vendors, 7 harvesters), but compared to the money I make from selling resources and power (500k to 1 million per week) it's pretty insignificant.
My "problem", such as it is, is that I enjoy making and selling droids. So I keep doing it even though I'm not terribly "successful" at it relative to others.
I guess cheap prices aren't enough to attract business... but I hate spamming to sell.
Mining: In last week, 50k + a day on bazaar selling grinding resources
Power Mining: Last week, 500k for radioactive power contract. Before that, radioactive at 1.5cpu on bazaar, full lots (25) @3k-c each day, so providing I have a solid source of power, 60k a day after expenses.
Vehicles: anywhere from 3-6 a week, profit varries depending on if I got the materials for free from the guild or not. Not resting on this as a source of income, tho being able to sell a bike at 3cpu used is fine with me.
Droids: ... Nothing yet, getting MDE taken care of in the next day or two before trying to juggle customers. I anticipate 15k profit a day based on repeat sales of supplies, BH droids, and labor costs. Anything else is icing.
(I do have two accounts, so I am running roughly 15 lots at a time)
Because of the events (or non events) in DE for the past few months, I've not fancied myself being the next Bill Gates of the Astromechs. Because of that, I've looked at alternative methods to make money, and right now running 5+ fusions on solid 65%+ radioactive does the trick; as long as I pay attention to things, I make 80 percent profit, even selling at 1 cpu. Within a week, I expect to have 3 more fusions running, and whether by contract or by bazaar, I'll allow my power sales to carry me, while exploring and enjoying MDE.
One of the things that has generated a fair ammount of foot traffic, is that I have a vendor in a player city (Safe Haven, Corellia, Corbantis) that resides right by the shuttleport in our mall. Also, the folks in the guild have been terriffic about word of mouth referrals, so even though I've yet to sell a droid to an outsider, I'm starting to keep those people noted on a list, and will be contacting them in a day or so when I've finished the grind. (3/2/3/4) I'll also be setting up a global advertising vendor in the next day or so, so hopefully that will generate additional attention.

the Novice DE should not be making the income a master does... but you have to remember there are many ways to suppliment your income
The best way is to harvest minerals and sell them on the bazaar. Make sure you pick up rate 10 mediums and a fusion generator when you can. I pull up about 20k a day on each of my rate 10s on an 80% resource source. With that you can harvest as much steel and fibro as you need, and still have enough to sell resources with. Ore is always in high demand, sell that for 6 cpu. Also the better quality the ore, the better the price you will get for it.
Getting a Rate 10 medium harvester is not that hard either. The cost roughly 50k, i have found a place on corellia that sells them for 38.5k. Anyway running the artisian missions a person can run 3 hours worth and buy one.
Once i have all the stuff i need for master armor smith built i plan on getting into the rare resource market aswell. There are definitly not enough of those people in the game. Rare Resources sell very well... and 10 cpu is not much to ask.
