When you tested the "barker" droid, could you set him patrolling as he barked? or did it allow you to give him other commands once he started barking?

once again... a DE's inability to call two droids means he cant set his "barker" droid doing its thing, and still be back at the workshop crafting with his other droids.

Not sure who would want to use the "barker" most. Since you need Merchant skills to use it (just novice, I assume) and most folks who bother with merchant skills are crafters...and have gotten used to using droid stations and item storage for their crafting. Looks like you can have one or the other.

Too bad you cant set a droid patrolling/barking, and then be able to call a 2nd droid as long as you remained at least 300 meters away or something. Then if you approached closer, your 2nd droid would poof back into your datapad. Thinking outloud... need sleep...

I didn't have time to test much except the barking commands before TC went down again and I had to log to get some sleep. It appears though that the droid works normally when the barking is on so I would assume that it will be possible to have him patrol or have him stand next to you barking while you craft with the crafting station moduleinstalled.

To me as a merchant the waypoint is the big selling point. Transfering waypoints to people via email is a pain. Telling them the waypoint is apparently too difficult for them sometimes. This feature will give them a waypoint that they don't have to think about just click to activate it. (Maybe it should autoactivate)

I don't expect this to revolutionize merchant or anything but it is a nice feature and most merchants will probably buy one if only for the novelty of it.

Because there are a lot of difficult changes here and we didnt know what we would be able to finish. A lot of people pu in a lot of extra time and came up with some pretty cool stuff

I'm not sure who all put in the extra time but thanks from a master DE.

So can you guys make new types of droids now, such as droidika? I thought that this publish was for that as well?!

This is the first patch since I left DE in december that finally made me want to stop the holo grind and come backto this profession. Looks like its time to harvest steel and fiberplast again, and sew up a nice +25 exp DE suit lol.

Nope
We wanted droideka and roger-roger but the dev wanted to make them useles -hem- balanced (new profession to use them), so we asked them to focus on utility droids usable by everyone, and it seems they did.

For the Droid Destruct and Bounty Hunters... will destroying the droid cause an enemy TEF on the BH?

For BH's, Kaadara is really the only decent location to level inv 3 and 4. Since it is an active Imp CrackDown town, BH with sliced weapons and armor are at a disadvantage here. Rebel BH are doubly so. If I, as a rebel BH, send out a droid or two (not sure how many you can own) and detonate it near the BH terms, (hopefully) clearing the imp patrol there, will I get an enemy TEF for doing so?

If not, does this open an exploit for PvE griefing/faction xp grinding, or is it negated by a) limit to amount of droids you can own, therefore amount of damage you can do in one attack, b)no faction xp gained by imp death?

Great Patch! Droids with a purpose, thats awsome! I think for me the structure and survey droids will be the biggest movers. I know some entertainers who will want droids, but if the structure and survey do what I understand they do, all I can say is "about time!" Thanks for all the hard work! And to you MDEs on the TC, thanks for letting us see what the schems look like, and thanks in advance for all the updated info you give us so we can prepare our resources, etc.

"I have a ranger friend who I'm sure will be excited about the trap shooter and harvesting modules."

Wrong. Most Ranger's would rather be fixed or given what the dev's promised 8 months ago rather than have a droid take away from this already incomplete profession can do. Preliminary results indicate that the droid can harvest more than the player who has the /harvest ability can.

The "Ranger Purge" has begun.

  • Added Detonation Module to the DE skill tree: This module grants Bounty Hunters and Smugglers the ability to destroy his droid causing damage to every enemy target nearby. The destruction is ordered by the /detonateDroid command or via the droid's radial menu.

  • This is awesome but i have a question about this functionality.

My question is... Will I be able to use detonation droid and regular tank droid at the same time? For example I get to my mission destination. I pull out detonation droid and explode it among my enemies. Will they aggro on me? If not, this is bad as I can kill them all without any danger. If they will aggro on me, as things stand right now I will not be able to pull out my tank droid.

Will I be able to pull out detonation droid in a middle of the fight or do I have to do it beforehands?

Will I be able to use more than one detonation droid per fight?

    Thanks.

Care to offer link? The two reports here from a Ranger/Scout and a Entry Lvl Scout suggest otherwise. Not saying you are wrong, just would like to see.

    Firstly - /Applaud DEV team

I am really looking forward to this patch going live, from everything I've read so far it is looking extremely promising. I do have a few issues though ...

/agree with all posts concerned about the amount of spam these barker droids are going to produce, although I think the fact that they are merchant only, and can only be used in the same sector will limit them somewhat. I think players should have the right to ignore this though, if your not looking for anything, spam is just more lag.

I have afewquestions about the survey droids

1)Can they survey planets out of reach of a shuttle?

    2) Will they be able to survey multiple planets?

    3) If so can they be set to search multiple planets for a specific resource?

I ask these because I am concerned they may not be much of a market otherwise. For example, if they can only search 1 planet and list the resources on that planet, the player effectively saves the cost / time of visiting that planet. If you are on Correllia, some planets only cost 500cr (1k round trip) soeven thoughsome are almost 3k (6k round trip) I doubt ppl will pay more then 3k for a one off droid that would effectively just save a bit of time. Has anyone tested these droids yet?

My other concern is the harvesting module - I was ecstatic when I first read it, only to learn it was for just for scouts. Considering the report that showed a novice scout could extract more then a droid with the module, what use is it to scouts? In fact what use is it to anyone?

IMHO this is how it should work:

    When the module is made it has some sort of relative harvesting quota (I have never played scout so I am not entirely sure how it works but hey) which effects differently depending on your character;

If you have no crafting/scout skills it should impose a penalty to greatly reduce the amounts thedroid can extract (much like an artisan picking up a FWG pistol, it will work but only just)

If you are an artisan it should harvest at a rate which should still be pathetic by scout standards, but enough for a tailor or chef to make a few things.

If you are a scout it should add to or quantify your existing harvesting capability.

This way everyone gets a fair piece of the cake

Apart from that the patch looks great.

I would like more info on the Survey Droid and the Stimpack droid. I'm curious about the "consumable" on the survey droid, if it works the same as the BH seeker droid and if it is a one shot whatyou get for info. and for the Stimpack droid does the droid have to be in a certain range of the person requesting the heal, this would be best if when they did the /requestheal the doc would get a <name> is requesting a heal so they can get them a better heal.

The stimpack droid is good cause most of the time in battle you get to someone and heal just as they are dropping, and even tho it is a stim a the heal does help keep them up till the doc gets to them.

Can't wait for this to go live, any chance for next week?
