Thread: Publish 8 (Droids Rebuilt) Test Center Reports, comments, opinions and discussion
Update on Playback module:
while the module does not record flourishes, it DOES accept bandflourishes....very nice... two musicians with one droid each can now make a full band of 4 instruments if they want
I am amazed at all the cheering this patch is receiving. Its a very weak publish with little bug fixes and again broken promises to fix more pressing matters.
PVP is absolutly broken atm. There are alot of bugs that needs fixes and have not been addressed for ages. The whole combat re-balance delay is a mess since we got the creature re-balance and where told at that time to hold out critique till its all done.
Nothing to look forward to in Publish 8, so when is 9 due?

Not everyone is aiming for combat or PvP. combat may be borked, unbalanced and bugged. but the DE's have been like that for a long time. This patch aims to fix that in some way. Not everthing can be combat oriented. If it was, everyone would be hjaving 1000 battlefatigue and 1 HAM as none would be around to fix them.
would think atleast 2 weeks on test before it goes to live. Maybe more

Added Creature Harvester Module to the DE skill tree: This module will allow any character to program and control an equipped droid to advance on the look-at target of the player and harvest the resources on the creature. The player can preset the droid to harvest one of the three types: meat, hide or bone. Or the player can just let the droid pick a random resource type.
Is this useable by any Profession? Say, a Jedi who has no Scouting skills? Can they now harvest with the Droid Module?
Casper
This is a Scout module (only).

Respectfully,
Curious about something ... why would someone with scout abilities, buy a droid to do something they can do on their own? I was thinking "Cool, I can harvest again...with a droid" ... (since I have no scout) ...
I was thinking exactly the same thing - why would someone with scout already need the hassle of a mechanical harvester - unless they collect more? The harvested organic market is already slim - it wouldn't hurt to throw this open to everyone with a droid, especially if - as I suspect, they probably don't harvest much.
I was very excited when I read this - till I saw the scout only thing.

Hey team, please note:
"- Droid customization kits now have an extended lifespan before the custom colors fade. (Correspondent Issue)"
Am I the only one who constantly hears that ANY kind of fade on the coloration is an annoyance and that most people don't bother with it because they see it as a waste? I know you're trying to create a renewable market for Artisans and DEs by making the coloration fade, but I REALLY think that the majority of the player base doesn't like the feature.
Would you guys ever consider removing the fading completely? I still think people are more likely to purchase coloration kits knowing their favorite color combo is going to stick until THEY decide to change it. Thanks guys.
/agree, I would actually use customization kits on both my droids and my speeders if the colors didn't fade.

come on man, have some love for the DE's they have been trying to get their re-vamping done since before Christmas. I believe that the GCW re-vamp will address your PVP concerns.

You must not be a DE then, I for one am real exicted about this publish, it makes me want to play again and build "usefull" Droids. I really couldn't believe my eyes while reading the patch notes, so much good things.

Great Info! Anyone know if traps in the droid are limited to the scout traps the player can build?
I would think that the owner loads the traps on the droid and then activate it to fire them.
