Wrong. Most Ranger's would rather be fixed or given what the dev's promised 8 months ago rather than have a droid take away from this already incomplete profession can do. Preliminary results indicate that the droid can harvest more than the player who has the /harvest ability can.

The "Ranger Purge" has begun.

Care to offer link? The two reports here from a Ranger/Scout and a Entry Lvl Scout suggest otherwise. Not saying you are wrong, just would like to see.

Ok, I went to the ranger forum and saw the post by your correspondent. If you ask me, it seems the higher your skillset the more hides your droid would get, while you kill the monsters. I dont see how this is a loosing situation for a Ranger?

Sorta like a musical module enhancing the entertainers abilities.

I am trying to see the problem here, but dont yet see it. The droid is there enhancing the abilities a Ranger already has, not giving the ability to someone who doesnt have it. As a matter of fact we have one scout report that the droid was NOT able to harvest more than him. So, it seems it is set fairly nice, if you are a Ranger, the droids enhances your ability and collects more than you. If you are a lowly scout the droid collects, but less than you.

I dont see a problem, but I could be wrong. Or, I may have misread the posts.

Added Creature Harvester Module to the DE skill tree: This module will allow any character to program and control an equipped droid to advance on the look-at target of the player and harvest the resources on the creature. The player can preset the droid to harvest one of the three types: meat, hide or bone. Or the player can just let the droid pick a random resource type.

Is this useable by any Profession? Say, a Jedi who has no Scouting skills? Can they now harvest with the Droid Module?

This is a Scout module (only).

Respectfully,

Curious about something ... why would someone with scout abilities, buy a droid to do something they can do on their own? I was thinking "Cool, I can harvest again...with a droid" ... (since I have no scout) ...

Well I would definitely use it...if Im clearing a boar hound lair on Endor I have corpses all over the place, and often dont have time to pick them all clean before I get aggroed...if I had a little droid taking care of that while I clear the boar hounds out Id be thankful for it.

I Finally got the Maintenance droid to work right!!!

/CHEER!

in order to get it fully working - i had to add 6 structures to its list (level 2 module). Structures now have a radial option to add it to a droid's maintenance list. Untill i added 6 and then tried to add a 7th (because i did not know what the max would be) - it would not do anything if i chose to edit the list or start run via the droid's radial menu. But once i did - it started working.

A couple of bugs i have seen (and i will also put this in the bug report)

First (not a bug per se - but something i would like to see added)- This is money maintenance only - it does NOT allow the droid to add power to a harvester or factory (making a trip to them still neccesary at least to keep them maintained) - along with it not pulling resources out of the harvesters (which is more understandable)

Second - the bug above where it didnt work till i had to fiddle with it

Third - On this test - i added 4 harvesters and 2 houses. the 4 harvesters were put down and not named. As such, in the edit list - they showed up as their code structure name (ex. structure/harvester/... not sure what it really said - but not personal mineral harvester). When i added 1 to the maintenance run list - all 4 disapeared from the available maintenance list and just one was listed in the "added" list. I am not sure if this maintained all 4 (i dont suspect it did) because the server went down just then.

Is there anyway to get a mini-guide when they give us new droids and stuff? It would make what they can do and how to use them much easier and would eleminate half of the thread questions.

i've posted this before but i figure now that this thread is getting Dev Attention i'll throw it out again.

"Tailor Module:

By adding this module a tailor see's an additional option on the radial menu of the droid. This option will open a window and allow the tailor to choose an item to display to the client, the number of items could depend upon the quality of the module directly effected by the experimentation used. The display would be at the default height of an item when you drop it in a house. The display would be transparent and have a blue tint to it so as to show the 'holo' effect that has been seen in movies, there would be color selectable however it would be difficult to view due to the ammount of blue from the image. While giving the DE's something to craft and make droids more requested it will also give tailors a tool with to display items before crafting. The ultimate goal however is to futher the immersion into the starwars universe, after all what is StarWars with out your holo projectors?"

hope a Dev see's this, /pray
