Right on my fellow gamers.
Do not change the play experience, add CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT!
To live this game has to work for Solo as well as groups.
Fix the bugs, fix the stability, more loot that actuall worksand add CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT!
I figure if I type it three times someone might get it.

Make those credits while the makin's good....
I do not know if a doc nerf is coming, so I'm gonna try and buff my butt off to make some credits. I've gotta stop spending credits. Better start saving for the combat balance.
If buffs are nerfed, then I'll just be buffing my own combat group (they'll expect it for free). Then income = mission income / group members. Ouch. If this is the case then I'll drop doctor. If I can't get income from doc, then what's the point of being a doc? Might as well be a better fighter to get through the missions faster. I will not spend all my time hitting my group with stims, healing states, removing poisons and diseases. You won't have time to fight if you spend all your time doing /firstaid.

I sure hope nothing changes to the Resources and the Items requirements. I mean the most important resources now, should stay that way. Else all my prime resources (over 20CPU) will be worth nothing anymore, and when items need other resources I will have to start all over again. Please tell me that won't change

AT THIS POINT, IF THE DEVS DO CHANGE BUFFS IN THE CU,
IT WILL BE ABSOLUTE EVIDENCE THAT SOE IS TURNING A DEAF EAR TO THE "VOICE OF THE CUSTOMER".
AGAIN, THIS WILL BE NOTHING MORE THAN A METHOD FOR MAKING IT TAKE LONGER TO ACHIEVE ANY SIGNIFICANT STATUS WITH IN THE COMBAT SYSTEM, FIXED, REVISED, WHAT EVER.
IE, THE LONGER IT TAKES THE MORE MONEY THEY SHOULD MAKE.

Some one on the last page states that buffs will be nerfed as much as 75%.
I call shennanigans on that.
75%? What orifice did they pull that number out of?
Seriously, don't listen to those that scream 'the sky is falling!'. Because, honestly, it isn't. If it was, I'd be the first one to tell you all...

I have been watching this thread and I have one word of advice - RELAX
The Combat Upgrade alpha has not even started yet and we don't even have any information on how things like buffs will change if at all. Even though I am the doctor correspondent and an alpha tester at this point I do not know anymore than the rest of you. Know why? Because NOTHING is set in stone yet and they don't want to commit to anything publicly only to have to take the heat should they change things.
I am keeping my eyes and ears open for anything, and when I have something that I can tell you folks I will.
The only thing I am certain of from the various Combat Upgrade docs that I have access to and read is that (in my opinion) the game will be more fun and combat will be more tactical.
Hopefully some red-named folks will soon give out more info to all of us
Until then, I would not be worrying about it or the various doomsday scenarios I have been reading here

I hope they don't nerf health or action... just secondaries. We had a pvp turney a few months back and 2 tkm def stackers went up against eachother. Both used 90% (or close) armor, kd def food, 2700 buffs, and pikatta pie. It seemed like whenever they hit eachother, their stats would recharge faster than damage was dealt out. They eventually took off their armor and fought that way.
Moral of the story, if secondaries were nerfed
1) people couldn't spam attacks like kd/dizzy
2) poeple couldn't heal faster than damage done
3) low ham weapons would make a come back
But the battles would still last a bit and be fun. There is my thought for the day.

griggs. sir you do a good job here, but we all are worried for many reasons.
Lets look at the track record so far.
1. creature handlers... the so called balance here has made them one of the rarest prof's seen anymore.. to me that really worked out well. lol.
2. BE's thanks to the CH nerf they are more rare than jedi... ( nice change here ) might as well add BE skills to chef, all they are good for anymore is to make punk pets and additives.
3. jedi...... made it a exp grind instead of a prof grind... ( nice trade off ) I remember the days when i saw a jedi and ran to declare so i could attack him. now there are so many that i just dont even notice them anymore.
4. how about how long it took to fix NPC's specials... cant remember, but i think it took them 6 months. they worked one day and then poof.... gone for 6 months... this made heavy leather go from 50 to 100k to i have a problem getting rid of it for 100 creds.
5. JTL ( should have been part of game from start ) i know its a big thing to program but the first nerf to kill repairs cost, and to be honest noone is up there... Ive not even finished my pilot becouse well i cant find people to do missons with . ( there goes the team work thing ) again, planets that you can only get to by space, astroids, ships to explore and or stuff like that would have made jtl alot more fun. mix in ground and space to have a more fun experience.
6.. and on and on.... i cant think of all the little things thats have made me go HUH ? why did they do that to the game. or why cant they fix that...
Its all about content... even simple little things like say. I kill a NPC loot item and storm troopes are chassing me till i get rid of the item.. nomatter where i go a shuttle lands and i get attacked till i get rid of the item... <<<<< ----- and or get the item to who needs it...
I like it when i get searched and its makes me declared, and i have to fight my way to a recruiter to get rid of it... one of the few things ive seen that makes me worry. when im not buffed.
I guess ive been disapointed in all the added content so far ive just lost hope. The imperial crack down would have been nice if there was a crackdown. I was looking forward to storm troopers everywhere attacking hidden reb ( like myself at the time ) and many declared imps helping them out ... insteed i found a few more patrols.
So my view of things is that the buff nerf, if there is one will be a total bomb that will put the doc prof in the toylet like be and ch. Im worried and SPELLING OUT what i will do in the hope the ever loving soe gets it right this time. if not, well ill go the way of the TREX....

Most players choose to be a doctor because they enjoy helping others, serving the support role, and being there to aid in a group to make the difference in surviving and/or winning the battle. Only after the public buff surge did becoming doctor mean making money. I would think that most doctors in the Doctor Forum would agree somewhere along the lines of my statement.

Believe it or not, the devs aren't out to ruin the lives of players who have doctor characters. What reason would devs have to change resource requirements? I can't think of any. I can sure think of a long list of reasons to make doc buffs balanced, which is why "buffs" have been mentioned by devs when referring to the Combat Upgrade. I would not worry about buff resources or anything like that unless a Dev comes out and says something along those lines.

I think people have lost perspective here. What the devs are working on is not "the buff nerf". Buffs are not even the focus of the CU, combat is. Buffs will still be around after the CU and buffing will still be a doctor skill. What good does it do anyone to make dooms-day predictions about the downfall of our profession when there is no information to indicate that it will happen. Please, everyone take a step back. Before you decide that the CU is going to ruin the game or our profession, ask yourself why you think that.If the only reason you have is that you don't trust the devs, then consider this. They have refused to rush the CU on many occasions. Though many have berated them for it, the reason is sound. The devs know that they must get it right. All the 'nerfs' that have occured to this point were attempts to balance a combat system that, as it turns out, is too flawed to ever be balanced. The devs have acknowledged that and are putting considerable thought and effort into fixing it.
Those who are basing their dooms-day predictions on supposed inside information, or pure speculation are accomplishing nothing other than to arrouse fears. I advise everyone to stop worrying over details when no hard details are even yet known. Even if the devs announced what changes, if any, will be made to buffing, it would be premature to react to it until we also know what other, related changes will also occur. We're talking about the entire combat system here, not just one peice of it. The pieces all depend on one another. That's why the CU has to address everything that is combat related. It is also why it is pointless to speculate about one detail that may or may not change.
I know we'd all like things to move faster, so that there would be no more guessing.Just try to keep in mind that it's more important that it be done right, than that it be done now.I think the last thing anyone wants to see, is a need for a second CU.
