Well as novice sword with 80% comp and good set up buffs i could solo a rancor. Take a real long time not worth the trouble but when i was soloing on dath doing biznatch missions if a rancor came after me it wasnt like I stood any chance of dieng. Oh no it made me bleed of whats that my buffs heal me faster then the bleeds can hurt me.
Well if they ever get around to fixing this game tumblers wont be needed. Armor nerf means folks will need healers and hopefully force grouping. I tried healling group of buffed people but was waste of time buffs heal them to fast. And if they change it so spamming same attack over and over actuly hurts you then this may force warriors to take more damage needing healres more as well.Looking for wounds to heal no chance there no one dies unless they PvP. But then most of them have the tka line of healing themself so no xp there. I remember when the game first came out you just sat in the med centers that where full of wouned people and made xp that way. But vist a med ceneter its justnot there anymore. But if nothing else there is alwasy getting a commando or cm to dieases or burn the heck out of a willing dummy and you can heal him. There will still be ways Just like the easy path of 80% comp uber buffs and master swordsman in one day. But thats all fine and dandy and the way the game is meant to be I guess.
Another reason its hard to find docs is cause so many are alts. In my guild there are quite a few players that have a alt that is a master doc master music or dancer so they can buff themselves. I remeber when the gamefirst came out you just sat in teh med centers that where full of wouned people and made xp that way.
My only complaint about tumblers. If your in the med center healing a tumbler and a player walks in with wounds heal them. I know I have seen 5meds healing a tumbler with a guy sitting there with wounds actualy needing help. I have been that guy at times myself.

The only problem I see is when people can't find anyone to heal them...
If that's the reason, then Doctors who have the spare time to buff-grief tumblers should instead use their spare time to heal wounded people.
I can't usually find people to take down krayt dragons for me and give me the loot, but that's my own problem, and I don't go around griefing others because of it.

I'm an aspiring doctor working my way through medic. After a long night of healing folks up I turned in for the night. I noticed though that there were several medical students patiantly waiting for people with wounds to come in. None had in quite awhile. So, instead of logging out I set my guy to tumbling and AFK'd. I didn't do it for tips and did not make a peep (no spam), and yet when I log in the next day, I find myself ninja buffed, and the med center completely empty. I just....don't understand.
What is so wrong about helping aspiring medical students? =/

It's good forum practice to show the quote in which you are referring to so I can properly address it, I seriously don't know what you are referring to since I never said I cared how people get XP...
I DID say however, that it didn't follow logic to ban someone for buffing you against your will.
I believe that since game mechanics are the thing in question, that it would be hypocritical to defend tumbling as a "active game mechanic, so therefore we can use it how we wish" and not give the same defense to the greifers who say "hey, buffing without permission is an active game mechanic, so therefore we can use it how we wish"
I could give 2 chites how you spend yourtime bro...

It is interesting you mention that. After the balance pass skills like tumbling will almost certainly not drain from regular HAM but the special action HAM bars which cannot be healed but regen fast.
Post balance pass leveling is going to get a whole lot harder for doctors I suspect.

Jeez you sound like a real **edit**. Why do you care how people level up? Does it negatively effect you at all? It sure doesnt hurt me. Its basically the same thing as people who are afk dancers in a cantina. Thats how I leveled up my character.

I can't believe this thread is still going.....Did most of you even read the first few pages? Half of you are using the same argruements as somebody else at the beginning of this thread. It boggles my mind to understand why you are debating the ethics of something that is going away with the combat revamp. Let me go ahead and summarize for you all:

I need an edit button....
Pro-Tumblers:
Doc is hard to do without
They aren't hurting anybody
SOE doesn't say they can't tumble
Its not anyones business how they play the game
Buffing a tumbler is griefing
Anti-Tumblers:
Tumblers cheapen Doctor (or make stupid Docs in my opinion)
Tumblers do not fall in the spirit of how SOE designed the game (tumbling wasn't designed for this)
People grinding aren't giving medical attention to those who need it
Buffing a tumbler for xp is not griefing

I used tumblers until I got to the point I could safely go into the field having no combat training. I paid them as well.
It is incredibly difficult for a doc to get started. Anyone can pick up novice medic and heal their damage. The only time people come into a med center is to get their wounds healed. Unless it is an incredibly busy night, you're looking at 500 - 1000xp/hour. I don't mind taking time and enjoying growing in a profession, but that is insane compared to a buffed combat character on Dantooine gaining 120000xp/hour.
I cruised by the Coronet Med Center last night to see how the new guys were doing. Sure enough, someone had buffed the tumblers. I hope someone filed a CSR.
