Only thing ive heard about this is , instead of 2200 buffs, they will make it to like 1300 and lower.

You heard wrong.

Heck we don't even know how the HAM system will work anymore. There might be a chance that our new speeders are really pink banthas. There's even a chance people will want to be ranged instead of melee *GASP!

Very good point. As one of the letters to the community just posted stated, the alpha team is still in waiting for the sandbox. Devs have stated that things can and will change--even from the info we've been given thus far. Even if we could comment on what we know about how buffs will change (and the devs have said several times that buffs will be under the CU umbrella), what we would say could be wrong by the time the CU hits beta and will likely change some how by the time it hits live.

Me, personally, I just hope they can stabilize them a little bit so that the same experimentation doesn't give tou 2420 action and 2230 constitution with the same ingredients. And for those of you (and I) who have decent stocks of components and buffs, I hope that doesn't go away cause the ressources required to do them cost a fortune.

The differences in buffs aren't that much unless the doctor who crafted them only got a good or failure while experimenting. The difference between packs that have had the same number of "great success" attempts is usually 20 +/- What does that amount matter other than they weren't perfectly identicle?

I have read this thread, and asa Doctor that makes a living using and selling buffs, changing the buffs will not make the game better. Buffs are just fine the way they are now, not withstanding some of the minor issues brought up here.

If the devs are really interested in more level / better game play, then here are some of the following they should focus on:

1) Make is so that every major attack that a PC might have is defendable. For example. There is no good defense against a Rifle Mind Attack or Swordsmand Mind Attack. Even with a doctor buff and an entertainers buff, in PVP play you are done quick. I have also noticed that Swordsman is the one profession that can solo the biggest beasts. From what I can tell, the following template busts the current combat system: Master Swordsman, Master TKA, Brawler 3330,Fencer 2442,Novice Medic. This template has 90+ in every def. and has a Mind Attack.

2) ADD MORE CONTENT TO THE GAME. This does not have to bea release like JTL, just add more / cooler missions. Like more stuff with Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke, etc. How about being able to make a living as a Pod Racer? More Planets? Rebles can do the same things with reble NPCs that Imperials can do with Stormtroopers, like ivestigate people. MORE MORE MORE

After playing this game for a while, I am not sure why there is a general thought that things are broken. Maybe we need a little tweeking here and there.

Also, how much of these changes are really the result of something being broken vs. corporate agenda?

I will try to keep the faith in the DEVs making the right decisions.

Just a note regarding NDAs.

They are crap and near unenforcable.

If you do your homework on this you will find that it is nearly impossible to claim any violation unless damages are proven. Especially for a product that is already in the publics eye. NDAs are mostly scare tactic stuff.

The only reason one is used in this case is because of the recognition that decisions might be made that piss off subcribers. However, even if info was leaked, a claiment would have a hard time proving that the same damages would not have occurred during the normal release of the information, ie subcribers leaving.

Quite honesly, if the entities involved only had the subscribers best interest at heart, then these would not be needed.

The silence we are forced to endure allowscoporate agendas to operate behind the scenes with out us interfering.

Do you want to know why the CU information is being kept quiet? Because none of it is concrete yet. Nothing is set in stone yet. The process is an ever evolving thing, with this or that being added while the other is removed.

If the general public were given the information without the proper context, there would be flamefests that would engulf all the boards.

The few people chosen for the sandbox, together, can discuss these things rationally(and even that is hard to acheive at times). Throw it out to everyone, and you end up with an angry mob that doesn't fully understand the implications of all the changes and simply cry out and what may have been removed/added to their profession instead of thinking of the big picture.

Add in the fact that things ARE still changing, and you end up with people getting angry and leaving over something that may not even see the light of day.

It isn't because they don't care, it isn't because they have some 'corporate agenda'. It's because the best way to present a change of this magnitude is to do so slowly and fully, when things are finally in a more complete state. Not piecemeal as it is with some really nice, well thought out changes and a few not-so well thought out ones that haven't had the chance to be hammered out...

I have no doubt that the majority of the people involved have the best of intentions at heart.

I appreciate your seriousness and passion and hope for all hope that the changes are good for the game.

I understand that none of this is concrete and that is a good reason for being quiet. However, it is not a good reason for not presenting game changes to the community before they are actually made. I would love to have a look at the final list of changes before they are made. And as long as good solid reasons for the changes, related to the "BIG PICTURE", are provided, I think the majority of subscribers would be mature about it.

If there is a coporate agenda, you are not privy to it, and most likely would not even know one exists until the very end. Thats when some big shot exective comes to a meeting and basically scope cuts most everything you want to do, unless it affects the bottom line in a positive direction.

Bottom line is that this is a product designed to make Sony money.I thinkmost of the money comes from game sales. Then you have to create the income stream to go with it.

To do this, one has to create a solid subcriber base. To maintain the subscriber base, you have to either capture people, entice them to join, or have a product that sells itself. Intially I belive the StarWars name sells itself and after that..........

At the moment, my impression is that the changes made to the game have been made to lengthen the current game content, instead of improving content. IE, increase the amount of XP it takes to do anything and presto you have lengthend the average subscriber time. This is a capture technique and not an entice technique.

Another good technique for this could be nerfing doctor buffs becuase it means it takes MORE TIME to earn the same XP we earn now.

Again, thanks for taking the time to respond and it was not meant as an attack against anyone.
