Thread: Grant Player Hospitals 120 Medical Rating Capability

This is from the advanced players guide, player cities, specializations...


Medical Center- 80k credits / week Medical healing is 10% more effective in a 'Medical Center'.


Anyone tested this out?

I think the import thing is that I would like the devs to step back and make a list where and how med work gets a bonus and where they should be getting bonus and to put them in a priority list.


I would think that player med centers should be the most desirable place for player docs to work.

2nd would be city med centers.


3rd maybe the high level camps by rangers.


4th any location with a droid.


Other arguments on if a droid gets an extra + for specific locations I am not sure I really care. Let that be more dependant on the DEs needs. Frankly I think we will droids anyway just to give us flexability.


I would just love to see us work out of med centers again and it would be great if I could work out of the center in my city.


Also the "best places" to work out of could be "best" for a varity of reasons like:

- mission payouts as I suggested in a different post

- bonus to wound/injury treatment

- bonus to mind healing in some way, focus or willpower

- maybe even some other creative ideas (here is a wild one - no need for wound treatment meds in med center) gasp that one is out there a bit. But lots of creative ideas could come up to help.

I'd like to propose the following:


1) Hospitals should provide better results that the best droid. It doesn't make sense that someone wiould be able to put better technology in a mobile and relatively small footprint (dorid)and not in a stationary and relatively large footprint (hospital). The give/take here is that one is mobile the other is not, the implications are obvious.


2) Why not include DEs by allowing them to build a special medical modulethat goes into the schematic for a medical center? So for example droids could possess a module that would give them a med rating of 100. A player med center would have take a module with a rating of 110. Additionally maybe the med chassis droid would have a 105 medical rating with a module from DEs.


3) Finally there could be aggregate effects such as: med chassis droid + hospital = reduced mind costs, faster treatmeant speed, a med rating of 115, and perhaps a medical crafting bonus.


4) All bonuses should of course stack with city specialization in healing.


5) Lastlt\y, and semi-off-topic, we should be able to dump a crate or crates of batteries into droids and have them use them automatically to stay charged.


At a minimum I would be happy with 1,2 & 5.

I think that all Med Centers/Hospitals should have a higher bonus to buffing than any Droid. If that were the case, then you would always know where to look for buffs because thats where they are the best! Besides, the front of Coronet Starport would be less laggy. Its a win-win!

I personally like the idea of higher ratings for the med centers. No one uses them anymore because it's easier to use the front of the starport with a droid. I'm tired of the buff lines in the starports! Droid demand will not decrease because most wound healing and buffing on adventure planets still takes place in the field. A 100 rating droid makes sense. While we are on the subject, the high tech field bases made by rangers need to be improved as well. I worked my butt off mastering ranger only to find out the crafting stations don't even make stim Ds and the med rating never gets higher than my droid. Might as well use a basic camp with a droid for better healing and better crafting.

Well if people knew to look at the map for doctor registered places, then that would solve that.

Yeha, thats why were working on this thread.


And if dotors just retreated to the medical centers, it would FORCE people to use them, I know it would be hard to do, but I have already started directing my /tells to the nearest medical center if we have to meet half way for buffs for example. (then I buff out in front of it so the medical center doesn't trump my droids 110,


But at least thats a step in the right direction in the meantime IMHO

Lol.. at +200 .. that would make the buff go from 2000 points to 4000 points... But you are right.. there has to be a point to have a player contribute lot space to have a medical center in a player city and actually spend the time to get to the med center vs pulling out droid. At a rating of 120 ... its only a +9% overall increase from a 110 med module droid.

Besides since a droid is there to help it should enahnce your natural abilities as a doc. Remember it was a droid who performed the surgery on Luke's hand in episode 5 and it was a droid that helped to revive him after he spent the night outside in the freezing cold on Hoth.

Nah, droids are still useful due to the need to do things in the field. However, droids will not be useful even in the field (or at least less useful) due to the ability to drop a camp and thus be able to heal / enhance. Maybe make them 105, though I think things work on a scale of 10, so that might not work either.

Player med centers are a waiste of time, effort, money, and lot spaces. Don't build them. Don't bother with them. Even if they did have a bonus, nobodys going to trek 15 to 20 minutes out of their way to get an extra 50 buff points (just to find out that a doctor isn't there).

In the end, people like getting thier buffs in front of the starport because its on their way to somewhere. That's why McDonald's builds many of their restraunts on freeway off/on ramps.

Don't even mention touching the droids medical rating, I'm telling you, DE's are the most defensive profession since they have been broke sooo long.


We can accomplish all our goals WITHOUT touching a single droid stat.


Just have droids give a bonus inside the medical centers. PERIOD.


Med centers 110


Droids 110


Registered doctor in facility = 115


Non registered doctor or medic + droid = 115


Registered Doc + droid =120


Easy


So simply put, registering in medical centergives a +5 bonus


Droid in med center gives +5


For the total of 120


AND you can THEN get the medical player city specialization bonus.
