Player med centers are a waiste of time, effort, money, and lot spaces. Don't build them. Don't bother with them. Even if they did have a bonus, nobodys going to trek 15 to 20 minutes out of their way to get an extra 50 buff points (just to find out that a doctor isn't there).

In the end, people like getting thier buffs in front of the starport because its on their way to somewhere. That's why McDonald's builds many of their restraunts on freeway off/on ramps.

+10 bonus, +20 bonus, +200 bonus... whatever. The med center is dead. Say a kind word and move on.

We all 'agree' that the med center is 'dead'. We do not all agree however, that it is buried. This is an issue a lot of doctor's, as well as medical professions in general, care about.

We all know a large majority of people use Theed anyway as a jumping off point, the medical center is 'what'? Literally 'across' the plaza? And player Hospital's, as far as they go, any smart city planner is going to centrally locate a medical center as close to their shuttle port, it just makes good sense.

Player hospitals are a bit broken right now, that's a fact. They heal both BF and Wounds (they should, of course, only heal wounds), and the cantina's are much the same. They should be fuctioning like NPC city cantinas. Their are some things broken, but they'll eventually get fixed. Let's take the first step by making NPC medical centers viable again.

Clearly their needs to be 'some' benefit to the medical centers in NPC towns and cities. I too am hesitent about giving medical centers an additional +20. My 'instinctive' reaction would be to swap the highest level medical rating for droid and the 100 rating medical centers currently have around, effectively giving 100 to the droid and 110 to the medical center.

But, at the same time, I'd rather not 'hurt' the DE class anymore then it already has been, but clearly 'something' needs to be done. Frankly, when it comes to healing wounds, applying medical enhancments and the like, their just shouldn't be any substitue for a 'fully' equipped hospital for ratings. [admits]

I'm just tired of "buffing in the dirt".

How hygenic could that be?

let's see,

"Let's go outside so I can buff you with my droid, the hospital is far too equipped and clean, let's go outside and sit in the dirt by the broken swoop bikes and piles of rancor dung"

ALSO I'm tired of it being "better for your mind" to be sitting down to heal.

IRL would you sit on the FLOOR with your doctor as he cuts you open?

One issue that keeps coming up is the issues of DEs being hurt by many of the proposed changes. I dont see how this is really an issue. A few methods could be used to insure this, as Imentioned in a previous post:

Add a medical module to the schematic for a hospital (should also be able to add these to existing hospitals) that is crafted by the DE. More money.

Droids still require a medical module if you want to do Doctoring on the go. More money.

Give medical chassis droids some real meaning. More money.

Additionally, possibly add a droid outlet module to a hostpital that will keep droids charged at the cost of an increased maintenance rate. More money. Finally, give droids the ability to hold crates of batteries that they could auto-consume. This would more than likely increase battery sales. More money.

Traigus, I like your summary on how to improve Player City Med Centres. Its been a long standing issue in the Doc forum.

If I might add further - with the Med Centre + Droid combo, to increase the decay rate and power usage of the droid as well. Maybe it uses up more power or something for that added boost. Or even to add some random-ness to that extra 10% or 15% (in the case of a Med Droid)

Personally I would prefer that Med Droids to be *tasked solely* for buffing and medical purposes, but thats another issue for the DEs to resolve.

One other thing, I found that if I was factionised when I planted the Med Centre, it would still retain that faction status even after I have dropped my alignment with that faction. I am not sure if this was intended.

OH AND THIS WOULD ROCK TOO!

Aren't you guys tired of sitting down to heal?

What the heck is that all about, it looks stupid.

Give medical centers the ability to heal our minds AS IF WE WERE SITTING DOWN.

This way you can heal standing up and still get the sitting down heal rate.

Only for master medics and up.

I say lets help the Devs help us. Keep it SIMPLE. . . . Just add a 120 med rating the the Hospital and be done with it !

Can't tell me that this simple quick fix is going to make anything go off balance. . . . .

I'm certain every Doc will still carry a driod.

I'm certain every Doc will still buff in the dirt, at camps and anywhere he/she pleases to.

I'm certain every Doc will still use BE'd Clothing.

I'm certain every Doc will still eat/drink food to improve buffs if they do so now.

I'm certain every Doc will still turn over every stone in the SWG to find the very best resources if they do so now.

I really don't see how there will be any negative effects. . . . .

/slap Traigus . . . We hereby demote you.

How will this "screw" every one else ? Am I missing something ? Providing a medical service in a player city hospital should be the highest quallity. It's only logical. The more a person puts into their profession, the more in return they should get. ((To a point)) If a Master Doctor is going tosacrifice nearly all of his/her lots for a hospital (and pay of it) , why not a reward for it ? Anyone can buy a 110 Medical Driod and use it, and sacrifice nothing in return. Why should Holo-Grinders and dabblers be able to produce the same results from services as someone thats poured their life into achieving the very best ?

That is what is going wrong in this game and people are leaving it. You scrificeand try to be the best at your profession and get little in return. All because they need to keep the game balanced for the damn Holo-Ginders. . .

To be better than dabblers, one most resort to paying millions apon millions of credits for skill tapes. Just to get an edge.

I didn't know how to take your reply. A flame or statement. Either way , I can't see howadding a 120 ratingwill have a negative effect on anyone.
