My RL husband looted 27 portions of heavy duty leather off jantas a couple days ago. None of them had serial numbers. Before logging off he offered them to my vendor. I checked them that night but didnt take them off the vendor consideringI didnt have the space for them at the time. The nextmorning after I cleared out one of my storage housesI removed them from the vendor and every one had been given a serial number.

a friend looted 23 HDL for me, and when she got them they didn't have serials, but when she traded them to me two days later they did (the trade happened last night)

I am looting sets of clasps from NS rangers. For starters,I thought rangers only droped HDL. I have looted 3 sets of clasps over the past week from rangers, every set of these clasps has NO serial numbers. After 4 days,I checked my stock, they still have NO serial numbers. So, i have verified 3 times rangers are dropping no serial number clasps.


Also, i think we can use these clasps in making a factory run, we just can not keep the NO serial number scheme we originally produced which will allow us to use any serial numbers in the scheme, correct?


Another question, what if you have 3 sets of clasps with no serial numbers, do those no serial numbers sets count as the same number, eh?

I've passed along the link for this thread to the CSR's and all the information in here. Hopefully we'll see a resolution to this problem soon.


In the meantime - I want to stress - WAIT for the components to generate serial numbers before using them. Better safe than sorry.

Update on my post. I am still looting sets that have no serial numbers, but they all seem to receive serial numbers after i logout/login again. All the ones i had in my house have serial numbers now also. Looks like a fix.

just looted 5 heavy leathers with no serial numbers... It seems that they have serial numbrs it just not showing up in descriptions, thats why when you log off sometimes and come back on, the serial numbers reappear. (Just a guess tho)

i have some serialless heavey duty leather that hasnt had them for a week, gotem of jantas on dant so these wont work? what can i do to fix them?

As you may or may not be aware, the number of items without serial numbers appears to be on the rise. The result of this is game breaking to the honest player, and I'm sure that that is the majority of us.


However, in order to help track down this bug and eradicate it we need some volunteers, people with these items, that will come forward and allow the CS team to inspect the items.


Apparently the loot gains a serial number after a restart, so time is of the essence. I myself looted some Janta blood without a serial, but by the time I knew they wanted to see it a restart had been by and my bloot got serialised.


Please pass on as much info as you can about the item, what planet you got it, what mob it dropped off, how long you've had it etc.

The cons are really moral ones. If you use one of these serialess components in a schematic, then you can put any item in place of it later on, even if it has a serial number.


Imagine people doing runs of buff packs using janta blood... or people making large runs of nightsister armour.


This sounds great and all but will ruin the economy of the game very quickly. The issue is being worked on, but CS needs find all the items that this is happening to.
