Its not an exploit to use this as long as you dont make a schmatic with the exceptional loot and use the regular stuff as filler for the runs.
The Devs very deliberatly removed all serials at one time and only put them bak in cause people where taking +100 tissue and makeing the schematic then filling the hopper with +30s

I think everyone can guess where these came from. Galaxy was Chilastra, they dropped approx 1 hour ago.

Sorry my point was not that it was an exploit, just that's where I posted it and the CSR's got back to me fairly quickly.

I have about 11 units of heavy duty leather with noserial numbers that I looted off nightsisters last week. I'm not a crafter (been thinking about going tailor), so is it bad or good to have no serial number?
I also have a number of other nightsister items such as clasps andshardsthat showed up in my inventory as having no serial numbers, but when I dropped them in my house they serial numbers appeared.

Well, it looks like this issue is going to be fixed in Publish 9.
I found this posted over in the Architechs forum
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=architect&message.id=57408
So it looks like instead of fixing loot components dropping without serial numbers, they will fix the schematics to refuse to accept these items all together.
--------------------------
Crafting Manufacturing schematics that were created with a generic item in a slot that required a serialized item will no longer be usable. Generic items will no longer be able to be put into slots that require serialized components.
