Thread: Meat price wars have begun on Intrepid
Roflmao Greenbulb, welcome to the club.
Main reason I stopped buffing the public a long time ago. Now I only buff people if they come to me and pay 20k for buffs ( I make more running Janta missions! mwahahaa)
Fact of the matter is, I started the ball rolling on Intrepid by offering UP to 100 cpu for stacks larger than 6k. Then the price started escalating until at least 3 other docs are offering 200 cpu for, while I raised and stuck to a price of 125 cpu for a stack greater than 1k.
Has it worked out? Yup, I still get offers for avian meat from 60-150 cpu and I buy them where I can. I value the effort that the hunters put in for me in getting the meat and look forward to contacting them to hunt for me in the future sans the trade forum.
Price wars? Yes, there is a price war only because of the quality of this meat and its probably only a one off occurence. I am willing to bet that some hunter is stocking up 6k of avian now to auction on the trade forum when the shift ends. Heh, now THAT's profiteering.
Nice to see some Intrepid Doctors posting here ![]()

Hell i agree with you 100% but if the avain meat goes up the buff prices go up and people complain about the buff prices,as for the 200 points thing, the docs try and get it up as far as they can also because there are other doctors beside them probly at a better deal and your getting less costermers because of it and that means your bivoli is wasted untill u have a big crowd,so docs try and get better at the buffin in anyway they can

I think alot of you are missing a couple of points on this....
1) Meat is a source of income for people. They don't give a crap what you do with it all they know is they can cash in on it. Before I was a Doc I cashed in on it and didn't think about it. On our server we had a Avian Meat rush where there were probably 200 people on the planet looking for it and very few of em were docs.
2) I understand that alot of you guys strive to make your buffs the best and you build an "elite" clientele. The average person however does not give a crap whether your buffs hit for 2200 or 2400. This may not apply to those that PvP but for most 200 points is what? 2 maybe 3 more hits you can take? A buff is a buff and most people won't think twice about it unless its under 2k.
This isn't an issue for me since I actually go hunt my own meat (lets be honest Janta's can get repetitive like anything else) but it comes down to what you guys want to pay for the meat. Don't come bitching later though if your profit margins on your buff packs are shrinking too much.
Well the main problem I think is that people who drive prices up are the docs that sell buffpacks, and for that quality does matter, because you get more money selling good buffpacks than average ones. It's as simple as that.
Also, keep in mind that pretty often when there is a good spawn, there just hasn't been any decent spawn in a while to make even 800's buff packs. And personally, if I have to use thousands of my other good resources on components, I'd rather use them with good avian meat than with average one.

175cpu for the latest Rori Avian with which we can finally make 900+ buffpacks. Now I realize it's higher on other servers, but the price jumped from the usual 25-50cpu to 100cpu and then 175cpu with the last two shifts. Gotta love supply and demand
This is nothing compared to the Avian MEAT War going on in Ahazi right now! 300 cpu for Correlian Avian Meat! Geez!
Well i have some answers to some of the post about,(whats wrong with you,why dont you go hunting and harvest the stuff yourself).
The problem i am having is we only get good spawns of avian every 2-3 months and for maybe 20 days, that leaves some docs like me SOL for a month or so.
Why on earth we have that crap is beyond me,i am sorry but i can kill the same mobs during every shift and it should be the same stuff, the mob didnt change,so why does the meat it yields.
In my eyes the hardest possible mob that drops avian should drop the best meat and so on down the line.
I harvested quite a bit during the last shift of good avian and it went fast,i didnt hunt night and day i dont have the time to do that.
Unfortuantly i have had to pay up to 175 cpu,but some of the numbers on this thread i have heard is crazy,i will do without and so will my clents.
Well your a different fellow urxii' lol if i had as much cash as you i wouldnt mind as much ,but i havent seen any avian for sale for a while.
My stock is really getting low now,but oh well i will have to do something else for a while and hit the next shift like aDemon.
