It is handy if you are BE/CH. then, if they whine, you can program rude commands for the pets hehe.

Recommend you join a good guild, at least you'll only get pestered by friends that way. You might want to make yourself a few macros, i suggest:
/alias guildcost /reply This buff is either free or "at cost". Cost is 10k from you, or a donation of resources or avian meat or herbivore meat to the .
/alias buffcost /reply Since you have to ask, buff costs start at 100k. If you happen to be in the same faction as me, we'll knock 50% off and call it 50k. If you are in the same group its 20k. If you are in the same group, and the buff needs to be re-applied its 15k. (reapplied means its running out, not you died and want another one). If I know you well enough to respond to this question without using a standard reply (but did anyway) the price is 20k. If you have to ask because your not sure, the price IS 100k. The buffs will be done without bilovi unless your really lucky. If you'd like me to use bivoli add 20k to the final price. The buffpacks are rated at 900+ and will last over 3hrs. If you still want a buff bank tip me the money and make sure you're standing nearby.
/alias stupidcost /reply I'm not buffing right now. So if you REALLY want a buff, the cost is 150,000 credits. The buffpacks are rated at 900+ and will last over 3hrs. I wont be using bivoli. If you still want that buff bank tip me the money and make sure you're standing nearby.
/alias nobuff /reply I'm sorry but the answer is no. If you have already had a response you know the costs of my buffs. I play this game to enjoy myself, not service your whim. You may or may not be ignored, you may or may not get service in the future. Bye.
As you can see I don't plan to buff the public much. The prices are ridiculously high, if anyone wants to pay them, then it must be worthwhile me spending time on it. We're all guilty to an extent of expecting commodities ready to our whim. Ever asked a crafter "can you..." or "do you have.." or "when will.." its the same thing.

I see your point Graptor... The fact is even if we play nice and buff you we'll get spammed.
Yesterday i was in Theed to deliver some items i have auctioned, when i met a guildmate. The dude is hunting Giant Dune Kimogilas as of now, and since i need GDK loot, i buff him in a hurry in Theed(i always buff guildmates for free).
I think half of Theed spammed me to get a buff. If i wanted to buff all the players that asked me, it would have taken a couple hours, considering i would be spammed over and over again. So i had to run and decline all the tip proposals for my buff service.
I mean, i encounter a nice guy, we talk, i decide to buff him, and BAM!!!! 20 players bug me for a buff. the only fact of getting my droid out is enough to get spammed. So even if we find nice people, and we would be glad to buff them, sometimes we simply cant.
Cause buffing someone means starting a queue of 20 people wanting a buff for you.

I've never buffed publically, never will. I wear my Master Doctor tag and keep up an afk message of "No." at all times. I'll only buff you if I know you(and like you), if you are in my guild, or if I'm at a Rebel raid/defense. In any of those three cases I'll buff for free. 2498 for 3 hours, have fun.

My own personal rant:
Today, I was buffing at a player city, it wasn't very busy, maybe three-five minutes between buffs. I like it out here because it's quiet, it helps to support my city, and I see the same faces usually and it gives it more of a community feel, instead of the buff-factory that is cnet. So I'm sitting there, offering my 12k service that includes buffs, healing and disease/poison buffs, when another master doc opens up shop. That's cool, I don't mind a little company. That is until he starts spamming his price, 5k. 5k? I can't even break even on 5k when I'm eating bivoli every third heal. I packed up and moved somewhere else, it just wasn't worth a conflict over, and in the end, what could I really do?

Hey UEK
Seen as I buff MO too, I can relate exactly to what you say. Bout the only difference is I cure disease if I see it without beinf asked. Like the prvious guy said..a few clicks takes little time.
I met your friend Ryker, he seems nice, but told me off for charging too little and stealing his customer. Oops.
I have been relatively lucky so far...not many retards have bothered me. If they do I'll ignore them and buff the next customer free or something. I like my regular customers a lot. Buffing can be fun.

Try politely denying that you are out of buffs when you're the only doctor in corolag and watch the prices rise for a buff. Had one guy offering 50K for a buff. Sigh, okay so I had to go into my personal stash of buffs.....
Still
As a Doc who is always nice to her customers I usually find that idiots are few and far between, very very few rude people, and even on Dant and Dath people are curteous.
Of course I have noticed that people react differently to female doctors than to male doctors. So chalk one up for the buff babes

Well, I'm male and I very rarely get rude ppl. Impatient yes..but not usually rude. I think I'll stick to charging 12k for a buff..unless the vendors charge so much I have to increase my price.

We should definatly come up with something as its high time something needs to be done by the sounds of it. Either strike buff or tipple the prices pfft I dunno. If anyone can please delete one of those double posts.
Thanks.
There are twits everywhere. You can't stop people from being human and you won't stop idiots from being idiots by striking or putting up prices. /addignore is your friend and thats about it really.

I have been playing SWG for about 6 months now. I have toons on 3 different servers - valcyn, intrepid and starsider. I have dealt with many doctors and have yet to come across one who isnt nice. Its always a pleasure dealing with them and doctors definetly deserve alot more respect. U folks are so great that I have decided to give the profession a try myself
Still a long way to go but its very rewarding when u get appreciated. Keep up the good work folks and stay united.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Be prepared for massive flames when you'll be master doc. Some people will never be happy no matter what you do.
In any case it'll be fun to have another buddy in the Doc community !

Whoever said we have the power is right!!
Do all you can to discourage rudeness. If that means not buffing someone, then it's their choice ultimately. Be nice = buffed. Be rude = not buffed. quite simple really. The more doctor's that follow this basic code the quicker it will become a standard. Is it sad that we have to demand respect and politeness from players?...hell yeah! but it'sthe reality and won't go away until "you" stand up for yourself and your profession.
