Just a note then, fellow Farstar Docs, make a note of the name Ma'Kor, and try not to buff him. Really, he views us as nothing more than machines.

Makes me wonder how many people in SWG think of us as nothing more than automatons.

Wow, if "Buffing?" gets you bent man you better just drop doc now. Back in the random buff days I would get spit on, stomped, cursed, etc. They asked a simple question. You got the harsh reply after you berated them.

Now with that said if you really want a power trip then do what I did once when a guy pissed me off at the Tusken Fort.

guy: Buff me

Me: /tell friend ya, im at the fort. we can buff up and I will help ya grind.

guy: Doc, buff me.

Me: /tell friend sure, I can just hang here and wait, no worries.

guy: Man, com on buff me. Hurry up.

Me: Umm are talking to me?

guy: ya, man, buff me.

Me: That will be 15k (at the time buffs were only about 8k)

guy: What? are you nuts?

long pause... then tip comes in.

Me: buffs Health stat

Me: You will need to sit for the next buff

guy: Why? does it make the buff better? I want a Uber buff for that much.

Me: Sit

Guy: sits

Me: Buff his str. Then tells him to stand.

Guy: What the hell man? why do I need to stand now. Just buff me.

Me: Stand or I will leave.

Long pause Guy: stands

Me: buffs his next stat

This goes on back and forth until the buff is done.

After the buff is over.

Me: Next time ask nicely and remember who has the power.

He cursed me for a good while but I think he got the idea. I am way to lazy now to get into a confruntation like this. I just ignore them. I dont add anyone to /ignore that takes the fun away.

I love this method. I may just have to try it tonight. 5 stars for a great suggestion.

Try to get a clue Anubus. If you want something from another adult, the correct thing to do would be a greeting, followed by your request.. the other way is just rude.

I believe this thread can be answered with one simple statement and I practice that, and it works wonders.

If you don't want to be bother for buffs, remove your Master Doctor status on your toon and change it to something else. It's that simple. When I feel like making money, i'll put my MD status and sit at the starport. When I don't want to be bothered, i put my Master Swordsman or 'Novice Medic' on and you don't get the /tell with "Buffing" or "Can u rez?" messages.

The way I see it is, that I don't go up to a Smuggler and say "Slicing?" and expect him to drop what he's doing to slice my weapon. I ask "Are you slicing today?" and if the response is "No", then I say "Thank You" and look for another Smuggler. I have a standing policy that I won't buff anyone unless they're on my friends list. I always respond to requests with "Sorry, I'm not buffing". However, I don't hide the fact that I'm a Master Doctor, because I do goto the Med Centers to heal people, train new Medics and Doctors, and give advice to those starting out. I don't have too many tells for buffs anyway, because I'm set to unsearchable and I don't go to many crowded areas (haven't been to Coronet or Mining Outpost in about3 months).

How can this possibly bother anyone? its a straight forward question to which you answer yay or nay.
its the idiots who dont take no for an answer that are the real problem for docs.

NO RESPECT that is how I feel as Master Doc. Everyone assumes that doc's buff for profit so it is a service. As such it becomes something peeps think they can demand. My droids name is NOTBUFFING. You get more respect with master medic when they ask for a heal. Maybe because most people don't think to /tip for this service. Try going up to AS and say "COMPOSITE" and see if they even respond.

LOL we could have a rally and spam doc complaints in Theed or Cnet. "We are people also" , "All we need is love" , "Free buffs if you say please" Come to mind.

Ok, ill put this at the beginning this time- no hard feeling over this, so plz, don't rate me low.

Ok, when people here, not on this thread necessarily but the whole swg community say that it isn't a docs job to serve people and buff them all the time, when you really think about it, it is. I'm not saying that people should be rudeabout it, but when you really think, you master doc (most of the time) to buff other people and make money. so you serve other people. for example, when you go to the doctor in rl, and you are like "i need some medicine, i feel horrible" he doesn't say (or she) "im not here to serve people all the time, that isn't my job" you know what i mean? People come to expect that docs will always buff them whenever they ask.

I must say that "Buffing?" isn't a bad thing, at least imo. It doesn't bother me, offend me in any way. Note the "?" that seperates it from a statement. So the person was simply typing a shorthand version of "Are you buffing?" Also, do you ever ask a coutroom recourder typist person (the word has escaped me) why they don't write everything out? They use a shorhand to record everything.

Btw, i compliment whoever had the sit, stand idea. I'm not going to quote b/c its a long document and i forgot to look before i started typing

But that's just me, again no hard feelings.
