Thread: charging for buffs
You know ive actually found it more profitable to not charge for it.
When they ask how much i charge for my buff i chat with them a bit and tell them I dont charge for it if im already in a cantina playing for fun. I've yet to get a tip for it under 2000 usually around 4 or 5k.
Now if you pull my green butt out of the field or ask me to come buff your hunting party then your gonna get my gig fee. But if im having fun jamming in the local cantina im not going to charge for it upfront as i couldnt see charging more than 1-2 k anyway for the buff.
100% = 2k because no matter what it will only take 5-6 minutes no matter what the percentage is
My first post....aww!
I was just wondering what u guys think is a reasonable price to charge for a full buff that lasts 2.6 hours and does about 2k over base stats. I've been doing friendly pricing so far, or free for friends, but I'd like to start saving some money for the finer things of the galaxy. Doc's are supposed to be rich right..like Dr. Huckstable..u know Bill Cosby. Anyway Thnx, Dr. Radacheck Madoo
Tonight on Naritus, I was charing 7K for a full set of buffs. 2 hour buffs, but I was hittin for upwards of 2800+ points on some stats. My average was about 2000. But, I did get a lot of 2100's and 2500's too.

I'm not sure why people give a discount for full enhance i just charge a flat rate of about 1k per buff 6k for full(but if someone want to pay 5 it's ok) . I'm planning to raise prices probobly to like 1.5k each. someone told me she asked for 10k for full using enhances that are about 100-150 less power than mineand people payed no problem.
anyways my new buff packs are around 880 power 12000 duration (3 hour 20 minutes ). I'm usually staisfied with stuff over 800. the rest i usually sell to minimize my losses.
The main market for selling buffs are combat-oriented players, right?. And for most combat oriented characters 5k is nothing. And considering the increase in efficency in the field good(or even half decent)buffs on all stats provide I think 5k for all stats is too low,I easily manage to charge between 8 - 10k for all stats on Dantooine(and my current power rating is only 740ish).
I used to charge 5K for all stats, but found that I was being 'used' a little too much. Didn't like the feeling, so I raised the price and I'm happier for it. I honestly think we could *all* raise our buff price to 10K and people will still pay it (10K is pretty cheap on just about all the servers), but I understand most docs charge 5K for buffs. I point out that I charge more than other docs to any new customer (so no one is surprised later).

I charge 3 to 4k if I'm in a Med Center of a populated planet, 6 to 7k on Endor, Lok, or Yavin IV etc.
I climbed the doc tree to be able to buff myself and my friends. I am not the all helping doctor who heals everyone elses wounds and buffs for little to no credits.
I havea sliding scale to what I charge other non-friend people for buffs...this may sound strange, but it depends on how nicely they ask me. If someone is "Do you have the time to buff me. Thanks." I would charge 10k, sometimes lower if there are real nice. But I often get the "I NEED TO BE BUFFED" of even just "Hey doc, buff me." When they ask like this, I charge 20k for the full set. Now I know this is more than everyone else charges(which the player always reminds me of), but honestly I don't sit around with my med droid out buffing people, I didn't become a doctor to help random people out, and I don't like the way people expect to be buffed.
I am always nice and polite if they get mad at the price. I just tell them that it's not easy to become a master doctor and my buffs and time are expensive. While a few people storm off, charging 20k for a full set that lasts 3 hours and hits above 2000, these players that need it are heading into combat, taking high end missions that pay out more than this and are paying this 20k.
Do I feel bad charging more? No. Do they complain about the 20k price tag? Yes. Do they still pay it? Yes.
