Have to agree that the buffs are way out of hand. What were the devs thinking?
A player who seeks out and pays for a buff should have an advantage ranging from slight to moderate over someone who is unbuffed. It should not mean automatic victory for the buffed.
These days, nobody in their right mind would dare PvP without full buffs, and most won't PvE without them either.

I don't hunt anything without buffs

Even with armor as a doc/CM there really is only so much you can tank. You usually don't do so well in places like Geo caves.

um any elite prof can kill anything on dant save the force cave.
i believe you were buffed. if you got 3 vors on you, and you are not a fencer or pistoleer with high def, and you go away - i.e. not useing spechails, unbuffed - you WILL be incaped.
so you were buffed, and left your carbine on auto fight, and u kill 3 vors on dant. what does this have to do with doc??
for me doc is about a group. as fencer i really cant kill mobs well, but i can run around helping my m8ts, without getting killed myself. that is fun for me. or being able to buff myself anywhere. or being able to rez. and heal state. i dont get players NOT useing what they have.
and we have the best stims because we ARE docs. when i can heal abuffed player for his entire ham bar, or heal our pets for 2-3k damage - that is a Doc thing.
i picked up doc origanaly because i was sick of waiting for buffs. now though i stock every stim, heal and enhance pack (except the 4 secondari stat wound packs - i need the room and i rarely ever use em) and i love it. i am the guild doc, alway in demand. i do a once a week or so public buff session more for the fun than the cash. (runnign dant missions is less hassle)
in summary you win because of your COMBAT proff. doc only keeps you alive. and that only if you have high enough mind.

No use for stims? I use stims all the time in the nightsister caves, and fighting high level mobs with my guild. Also use stims when i see people on the field. You must have no guild and hunt solo and you hunt easy mobs.

i dont even go to the bathroom without being buffed
i think we all need to have a little patience, like the devs said, the game is pushed to the maxx now by a few very smart players utilizing the systems in place
hence the reason for rebalanceing, we will see an entirely different world in a few months, just wait a bit
until then, have some fun

Try just buffing your primary stats and not your secondary. Then you will need your good stims. Also, keep in mind that the game is unbalanced right now. When the revamp comes out, I'm sure the buffs will be less than what they are.

Actually, I solo'd that cave as a TKM/MD. Master Rifleman can also do it quite easily.

We're fully in agreement there. In general, I try to stay out of it, keep everyone healed, and toss a few poisons and diseases. Most of the time in the field I don't even have a weapon equipped. That's not what I'm there for.

It should also be noted-- and you'll see this when you get a guild and start tackling the REALLY crazy stuff out there-- that Doctor's supposed uberness is severely limited by everyone's favorite pork component: the mind pool. As a Master Doc/master Swordsman, I can confidently tackle some of the biggest critters and NPCs in the game... but if I'm not watching my mind pool when that krayt comes runnning, i can kiss 5% condition goodbye. Granted, We're talking the giant canyons. But there's plenty of stuff out there to challenge if you're willing to travel a bit.
This is what gets me about the 'imbalance' in the system, and buffs and so forth. There are places, mobs, etc. in this game, where 80% comp and 2500+ buffs and elite combat defense and what all else only allows you to *stand a chance of SURVIVING five minutes*. the elite of the elite uber-d00dz are *still* finding that the best way to do things in the DWB and corvette is to run in, and grab the loot before you and your group die horribly. A krayt dragon *is* still a dicey proposition for a 6-8 person group with armors and buffs. we don't EXPECT to die, but that doesn't stop us from feeling like that dragon can kill us at any time every time we're out there. I'm not looking forward to what this apparent combat balance is going to do to high-end PvE. Especially since it seems like more care is being taken in making PvP balanced, despite the fact that creatures were re-balanced and super-dungeons like DWB were introduced to provide challenge to the current crop of high-end players. It seems to me that the level mater combat profs are operating at, and armor is operating at are FINE, as far as PvE goes. Maybe they should just be looking to nerf armor in *PvP*, since that seem s to be where the problem actually lies. or maybe they'll actually pull it off. Who knows.
Anyway... get a PA, get some friends, get some regular grouping, and go hit the high-end dungeons and mobs. It'll prove a LOT more challenge for you. Rezzes, mid-combat re-buffings, cure dizzy every 10 seconds (on a giant canyon krayt, that one. It likes the Dizzy/KD), Making FULL use of your best Stim Es... I went through two full Stim Es (1099/48-- that'll hit a whole, fully-buffed bar in one shot, pretty much), four cure dizzy packs, one rez pack, and did about fifteen full sets of buffs for a six-person group hunting krayts last night, nine of the buffs being in the middle of fights, with a dragon lashing around nearby, and I'm in my cute little doctor's dress with my cute little R3, praying that it doesn't take fours steps in my direction where the pissed-off krayt can flatten me, the droid, and my just-rezzed guildie. Now THAT's some slightly terrifying fun.
Or go after Axkva Min. I guarantee you, you can take anything you want, but you'll die at least once before you get her. I have experienced hunting partners when we go after her, who have killed her many a time, and we still die quite regularly.

Master Doc + Master Carb checking in with suggestions for fun PvE if you areleveling carb:
- This combo is best used in a support role for a team, so find a team who is going to a mid-high level dungeon (Geo Caves, NS Stronghold, etc.). You can get xp from firing behind the tanks and support anyone who gets knocked out or poisoned.
- Find a friend (or noob) who is looking to hunt some big game (rancors, pickets, grauls) and hunt. This is my favorite because you will get XP, you are helping a noob, and you may even make a new friend.
- Join up with one of the ad-hoc groups in Corolag going to the DWB, Corvette, or hunting Jedi Masters on Dath. These ad-hoc groups are usually totally unorganized because nobody knows the other's hunting styles and it takes a few times to get in the groove with one another. This is fun because you have to learn to adapt to other's playing style on the fly and you will get XP because you are hunting. Also, people always welcome a Master Doc in a group - I have never been turned down when the rest find out I am a Master Doc.
- Break up your hunting routine by buffing the masses one night then soloing the next. I like talking to people I buff to find out where the good drops are or what they like hunting. You can learn a bunch from this banter and I have also found that you build a very loyal following of clients because most Docs who buff never bother talking with people.
- Join a guild that has regular hunts
I would avoid PvP for now since you do not get much XP for PvP. I like my role as team support and find this combo to be very rewarding.

Thanks for the advice midget. I'm enjoying doc a bit more now, it still has some irritating sides to it, but then again, what profession doesn't? My main problem is I want to sample all the professions, but I've taken this plunge to master doc and I'd hate to give it up.
