Um hate to burst your bubble but I work with a comando on a regulat basis and he drops oposing players that have been buffed by a master doctor in one shot. Granted you are right normaly it takes 2 - 3 but every so often his damage just goes nuts.

You guys are TOTALLY off on the commandos own in pvp part. I play-ed as a commando on starsider and let me tell you, we get owned in pvp. We take 3x the normal damage from melee, and our attacks, though powerful and cause fire, take literally 5-10 seconds to do. During those 5-10 seconds we cant do ANYTHING. We cant heal, we cant shoot, nothing. So... we run. Fire compensates for that time imo. Either way, no1 is going to do 18k damage a hit on a regular basis, those are some of those dumba$$ posts that ask..what was the most damage you've ever done? With exaggerating n00bs replying. Btw, we need to get 16m or less apart from you or we cant do our specials. Only our specials cause fire, not our regular attack, so if you were smart, uoud just stay the hell away and kite us like a melee class, because that is basically what we are. So basically, stay the h*ll away from a commando and shoot them ranged, and there will be no fire coming to you. (Unless we are 10m from you on our knees we have like no chance to hit you. Oh and my last point is that the TEF revenge bug will be soon fixed so now commandos lose one of their biggest advantages..running up to an enemy, kneeling, and blasting the hell out of them.

/agree sithlordacid.

BTW yesterday I was in another big PvP battle on Tatooine. I was leading the imperial team and ordered everyone to fall back and get wounds fixed ... mainly because I was on fire

So I tried the drop-n-roll thing again. I followed the instructions in this thread -- prone, rotate 360 degrees. Tried it again. Moved around violently in circles while prone, then rotated 360 degrees again. Absolutely nothing happened. I am convinced the drop-n-roll thing does not work.

Commandos? Dangerous?

LOL.

I kite commandos just like melees.

They hardly damage me, let alone burn me.

I think the stop, drop, and roll is bugged because I'm getting mixed reports about whether it works or not. However, even if it did work, that and going in water(two ways that require you discontinuing your fight) should not be the only ways to put a fire out. Let's fix the balancing issue before we have too many more fire fights. It's getting kinda boring to those of us that aren't commandos.

I think that you are taking things way out of proportion, and from what I have seen, you have whined more than you have presented logical, well thought-out appeals. Anyone can post a whine, or another problem. Try to be constructive and post a solution that doesn't involve the abhorred classic "Nerf it!"

lets Chefs make 'Bucket of Water' it would need Water offcourse as a component, it would be used as a stimpack (so u can use it on other persons) and would require Novice Medic

Please tell me what part of this is blown out of proportion: 1. The fact that On Fire status is the ONLY incurable status effect in the game. 2. The fact that it not only does regular damage with it's dot effect, but wound dmg also. 3. The fact that commandos can do 18k dmg on top of putting the On Fire status on Mobs and up to 3k dmg and the On Fire status on players.

Which one?

Also, let it be known that this isn't a nerf commando thread. This is a pro-cure for On Fire status thread. It is way too unrealistic for a master doctor to be able to raise people from the dead but not be able to put someone out. It would be a big step to balancing the game if a cure for On-Fire status was inserted into the game, quickly.

This definitely should not be curable by a novice medic. Sure its reasonable for anyone to put out a small fire with a bucket of water, but somehow it seems that the fire dot from a commando is not your everyday fire and the pack used to cure it is not just a bucket of water. It should require special equipment made by doctors usuable at some level in the doctor tree.

Or make several "water" packs (or extinguisher packs). give Novice medics the ability to use a really really weak version of it. The equivalent of using a woundpack A to try and stop the wounds...

But a master doctor could make and use the "fire hydrant" or something equivalent, that could put it out. Just as there are poison/disease cure packs A-C, and wound and stims A-E...there should be a range of packs that cure fire. Since BHs and Commandos can do various levels of a fire DoT...there should be a variable heal ability for it..

Just my two cents...

Good ideas! What rank do you guys think a cure for On Fire status should be? I think it should be our first priority.

Guys, think about what you're asking:

"Hey, somebody just sprayed me with napalm, could youspray me with an extinguisher?"

Really, think about it. Think hard.

You aren't going to put that out easily. BH heat damage fire, sure, maybe. But frickin' napalm? Nay, Advanced Galactic Napalm? Forget it. You guys can already cure Ebola; are you satisfied by nothing?

If anything should be changed about the fire DOT, I think the percentage injury damage (white space) should be either (choose one) reduced or made proportional to armor resistance. Period.

Yes,I play a Master Commando.

But I also play a Master Surgeon on her way to Master Doctor.

First of all, the flamethrower doesn't shoot out napalm. If it did, not only would it be named the Napalmthrower, but the ground for a solid square kilometer would be on fire. And, even IF it was napalm, doctors can bring people back from the dead which is a MUCH more difficult feat than scraping some napalm off someone and putting out the residue.
