Thread: surgical droids
I created a Surgical droid with level 6 med mod, and the usual food/chem crafting station combo.. Anyway. I gave this to a master medic who did some testing for me. I also created a MSE with a level 6 med module. I had been told that a surgical droid added +10 to med use. So I began to test this theory. The master medic I had test this had these results. With the MSE Level 6 medical droid, it took 27 seconds to heal, and heal again. With the surgical she had a result of 19 seconds between heals. Now, that suggests that there is some increase to Med use.. These results varied slightly with 27/19 being the closest results.
Test Number 2.
Another Master DE created the same.
This time it was given to a Master medic who is alot higher than the person that tested for me.(closer to Master Doctor) They got no benefit from using the surgical over the MSE. with his results being 22/22 each time..
Is there or is there not a benefit to Surgical's?
If there is a benefit, is there a limit where it no longer applies?
ok, my r4 droid used to help me heal wounds
now it can only help me do medical crafting
but my surgical droid helps me heal wounds
did something change?
Maybe these have already been answered, but i couldn't find the info on searching the forum.
1) :
I have sold 2 surgical droids this weekend. Both were customer requests.
1) Basic Surgical + Med 6 + Item Storage 4, Worshipful chip
2) Advanced Surgical + Med 6, Food/Chem Crafting, Data storage 6, armor 4, Geeky personality chip
Now my question is, how are these any better than just Med 6 module in a lesser droid? I can't discern any difference. I explained this to my customers, but they both wanted the surgical droid specifically. As i understand it the Surgical droids have NO inherent healing effect. Correct?? (Both customers were quite happy with the end product, so I accepted full payment only after they tested them first.)
Any comments are welcome. I'm still exploring this profession and seem to find more questions than answers sometimes.
2) The second question is silly. Why doesmy BLL have an attack rating? Also my datapad lists commands for "attack" and "Guard" but I'm unable to program the BLL for these, obviously. However, if I target a MOB and give my BLL the default attack command as listed in the datapad, it RUNS AWAY! Very curious, maybe BLL's are just cowards!
3) Last question. How come in the datapad I can see some of my droid's commands list and others are blank? I had 3 probots, One i bought before becoming a DE, and the other two I crafted. I can see the list of commands in only one of the three!?? Also, I can see the commands in my BLL, but not in my R3??? What is going on here. Anyone have a clue? Should I /bug this ingame?
Thanks for any assistance. I really learn so much from this forum and all your replys.

good questions, hope these answers help.
1. No, the surgical droid is not currently any better than another droid with the same leel med module. The devs talked about changing this in "the plan" but there's nothing definate anywhere with that.
2. all droids come with a default attack command, I think it has something to do with the fact that they come already "trained" in most commands unlike creatures. Long story short, and droid that you can't program its attack command will run from combat, but any droid should also have the default attack and guard commands programmed.
3. the missing commands isa known and annoying bug, not sure anyone's figured out whats behind it or how to fix it (if its possible) but all I can say is try to live with it the best you can and recognize that it may happen to your customers too.
Thanks Jenden,
That is what i had thought, but wasn't sure. I didn't know about the problems with storage. I will have to check that out. With the changes happening on TC as per Drashk's notes, it seems we will be having a lot to experiment with and see what works and what doesn't.

do they do anything? i mean a mouse droid gives a detonator bonus, does a surgical droid do anything similar? i see so manyso i was thinking they must give some type of bonus.
MSE are the exception to the rule that the droid chassis does not matter. The only droids that have any kind of inherent function are as follows
MSE - +10 detonation bonus
Power Droid - Recharges other droids
DZ70 - Has inherent combat functions
Probot - Has inherent combat functions
