I recall a post soon after the CU stating that the Devs are aware of it, but that it's very low on the priority list (I'm guess it's so low on the priority list that it will never be changed, but I keep my plant alive and just never pick the fruit off of it--up to 10 and counting, now).
I'm not upset that it's low on the priority list given all the other things in the game that are totally screwed up, though. Be patient.
I've had my plant for about 6 months now. I've kept it growing by feeding it water with fairly high stats, for nutrients I've been feeding it berries with fairly high stats. The plant's fully mature now and bearing fruit, the bad news is that the fruit still has pre-CU buff modifiers and is currently useless until the dev team updates the Aurillian fruit to the new system.
From what I found, the key is to feed the plant on a regular schedule, and don't overfeed it. In the examine window you'll see whether the water and nutrient levels are normal or not. I feed my plant about once every 24 hours. The growth rate on mine was at "very slow" for it's entire growth cycle, which took several months. The plant's a real pain to maintain and keep from dying, and you may have to experiment with different nutrients to find something that works and keeps it growing. It looks kinda cool once it's fully grown, and I'm keeping the fruit in storage hoping the devs will eventually get around to updating it.
