Well I agree we could use a boost in healing power...but as for your XP, I assume you know that you must be in a group, and the creature must be killed to get XP, unless you are soloing.

I'd have to say that it's not so much that the docs are not needed, it's just that those of us that liked to buff ourselves and hunt solo no longer have a use for it. Think how many TKM/Docs were on the servers pre-CU...now that is not a practicle template. If I want to go and hunt solo, I need as much firepower as I can get...I had no choice but to drop the doc. I will say though, I have no problem tipping all that stay with the profession for the buff as they DO make a difference. The game is so much harder PvE, people who like to hunt game will have to drop the doc.

So for the rest of us - who are master doctors - who've been doctors for almost 2 years - ya think the devs might have clued us in as to the intent of these changes BEFORE it went live? I'm not a PvPer - only time I've dueled anyone in the past 2 years is becuase they asked me to kill them to rebuff them - I don't do combat and I don't want to do combat - so you think for those of us who enjoy roleplaying a doctor, the good things will still come out of this? And how long should we wait? Long enough to keep paying for beta testing the cu? This one is FUBAR and everyone knows it.






No one is forcing you to PVP, so I don't know where you get that from. The point of the CU is to balance out the game and make it fun. I asked Tiggs point blank before the breakfastwhen the CU is release how compleate will it be...and her response was simple; it would be released in an unfinished form because the people on live do a far better job at relaying info then those of the TC just because there are more people. (Not exact words, but close enough)


Obviously you fail to realize that, or you seem to think the CU is some type of personal attack on you and "your" professions. The CU is about the game, not about Doctor, or whatever professions we doctors play as. Buffs were ruining this game as much as armor and weapons where....and honestly if someone thinks differently they need to open their eyes.


A lot of people are taking the CU way to personal, and if you really don't like it, then no one is forcing you to stay either.








Right, no one is forcing PvP. Perhaps you can explain how a doctor can gain xp if she isn't in combat? Because if I can't gain xp unless I'm in combat then I guess the devs are forcing combat upon me. Just because Tiggs told you personally that the cu was pushed to live prior to it being finished....doesn't mean it was the right thing to do....it was the easy thing to do.

I have no problem with buffs being reduced - we've been warned that would happen for months - I see how the reduction in buffs would balance out the game - again, no problem. I do, however, have a problem with no xp unless I'm in combat, crafting going to be, combat medics being able to heal at the same strength as a master doctor, an "upgrade" being pushed to live before it's near completed. But, what offends me the most about all of this, is the fact that we get no answers from SOE. Explain to me why I can't craft and why I have to be in combat for med xp. Simple questions, the devs surely know the answers....time to clue in the customers on a wider scale than over bad sausages and pancakes.

I've never truly faulted the spirit of the changes, I know the game needed to improve, however I think they way they're handling the changes is pi$$ poor...

Too bad they didnt share that much needed info with the rest of us paying customers... how thoughtful. I like being a DR and being able to heal people but when you cant even figure out what the heck you're doing.. pushing this and jabbing at that and spraying someone with this and dont forget to stick a magic fork in them first and turn an then try to figure out all the sprays, and what?... if we have sprays why do we need stims, and how do we get the 30% buff and how do we know how much we buffed other than a little blurring pic under our ham... yeah real nice to share this info... i've looked on the boards and i can't findS**T about how and what these stoopid things are... dont get me started on TKA.... i hate you SOE.

I concur.


Other then the crashing to desktop, I am loving doc in the CU. Getting out of hawking in SPs? Right on. If you get out with a hunting party and heal someone one time during each of their kills, youll get full med xp for what the critter is worth, in regard to the CL of your group. I made250k med xp in about two hours with a group of four. I am loving it.

As I never enjoyed sitting in coronet and announcing how much money i have to take from people while I die of boredom I simply love the changes.


We are actually healers now and not buff dispensers. I don't need tocarry aroundloads of medicines and stims to do my job yet I can use enhancers (once they are fixed) to improve my efficiency. Aggro is not easy to manage but finally there is a challenge for us in the game. No more mindlessly hitting the heal button or hitting your buffing macro in coronet. The new HOT is hands down one of the most useful additions to doctor.


And yes... I do not like the bugs that are still in game... a ridiculous weak bacta jab for example... useless enhancers but these will be fixed. With the speed (yes speed!!!) SOE has been working on their bugfixes lately before and after the CU these will be fixed soon enough.


Until then I enjoy every invite to a hunting trip from dragging and rezzing dead players (we are still learning how healing aggro works in the new system after all) to healing and buffing them. Finally doc is a profession and no bot anymore.

Try asking nicely for a tip. I always threw a few hundred credits at MEDICS who healed my wounds. Post-CU, I find myself generally throw a 1000 credits to a doctor who heals my wounds.

I don't want to sit in the center for an hour waiting on wounds. I don't have the free time for that.

I know. I know. You aren't pulling down 150K an hour anymore because you don't have uber buffs. No player is pulling down loads of cash quickly anymore... which is a good thing, should help slow inflation on the servers.

Heck, I've thought about respeccing to a doctor just because they are so rare now. Its nice to see people who actually like BEING doctors instead of people who are in it to make in-game credits. Kinda like its nice to see all the entertainer buff bots go bye-bye.

I for one, never did sit around and buffed. I would do some buffing if i was in need of some credits, but that usually wasnt more the 100k to 200k, which would buy what I was needing to buy.


Now that Doctors are in need and no one is playing them, or not as much, i tend to charge for healing with set fees. I also tend to charge to go out with a hunting party to heal and rez the group, which almost any group will need.


For healing, i will (and probably get away with it) charge between 5k and 10k depending on how wounded the player is. For going with hunting group, that i'm thinking about 100k per hour. Are these prices kind of steep, may be but if I must go hunting when I shouldnt have to then i'm going to damn sure get paid for it. If im going to sit around and heal peopl;e then its not going to be for free as before or a couple hundred credits.


Who said Doctors will or should lose their income.

Yeah I can't really figure out Revive.....its loopy right now, and I suggest that everyone use /bug to report whatever it's doing..


Yesturday my group died, and I ran away with /burst. when I got un-agroed, I dragged them away, and started revive. The first guy seemed to work fine, got the warm up bar and everything. The second guy, I just pushed revive to queue it up, and he just stood up, and then I got the warmup bar and it said this isn't a valid target.


Revive is really borked up right now.
