Bank tips are probably going to make it a lot easier to confirm the tips. With regular tipping you would usually have to scroll through your spatial in order to find the tip message, which mind you is in plain text. The spammers in the area will push it down the box, and there will probably be a spammer covering your on-screen messages also. If you take a little time looking for the tip message, sometimes there is some impatient ass waiting for his buff. Ignore what he says. He tipped you already. He'll stick around and wait for you to confirm the tip. Never tip without confirmations, though. Some will be slick about it. If you require your customers tobank tip, maybe waive the 5% fee from the buff price? And occasionally, there will be someone who will run by and request to trade with you. If you are in the middle of a buff macro, dont go for it. Or at least don't target him and use the radial or double-click to trade. You run the risk of applying the buff to him. In my experience buffing, most people are really nice to you because you are giving them buffs after all. I had one guy that I buffed and he spent the 3.5 hours chatting with me. With other doctors competing, usually I do not lower my price. If I do then the other docs will also. So, the price will stay at the 10k. You can spam repeatedly that so and so will be your last buff because you are out of packs. They will still wait in your line. When you get up to leave, the next person in line will give you lots of hate, even though you did warn them for the past 20 mins or so. I had no idea what I was doing when I first began buffing. It didn't take long to get the hang of it, though.

Hey Andst...I need some weapons sliced again
As for you're question: First thing I would do is get you're spamming macro set up w/price and stats on the buffs. I know that some would disagree, but If you're already having line managemant problems the last thing you need isone of the following tells every 35 seconds "are you buffing", "how much for a buff" and "what stats are you're buffs". Cut them all out with a very brief macro spaced out every 45 seconds or so.
Second, create a new chat tab. Set it up so that only system messages and tells display and keep your chat on that tab while buffing. This way all you will see are the tells, cash tips, new emails from bank tips, and who you have buffed/what stats. This alone makes life so much easier.
If you are not using a macro to buff...use one. I like to keep the packs in my toolbar as well, helps you keep track of how many you have left and so on. Before you even start buffing make sure that you have the packs, bivoli, havla (if you're using it) and your spam (if you're using it) macro in the toolbar. Also having your /curedisease and /healdamage handy in the same toobar will help alot if you're offering those services.
Once you have started the buff macro you have about a minute and a half to catch up tells or chit chat with you're customers.
Good luck!

LOL... Andst is always up for slicing... How about you pay me in Belili Buff Packs?
I've been buying up tons of stuff from your vendor.
Does that sound fair?1 Buff packs = 2 Slices?

Hi... My first time posting to the Doctor Boards...
I just made Master Doc earlier this evening with my ALT and decided to try my hand at buffing.
Bought all the Enhances, Bivoli and Brandy I thought I'd need and headed off to Coronet.
I'd seen the lines, but was completely unprepared for the mayhem as I'd only been on the receiving end of Buffs.
Wow... It's crazy trying to manage 10+ people waiting for you.
I've read through the FAQ and other great posts from you guys which certainly helped me level doc.
But, are there any good line management macros or tips that this community could point me to?
Any help would be appreciated!
If you want to see perfection of this process, check out Coronet on Lowca on a busy evening. Always lines, always patience, no chaos. Pay when you get to the front of the line. Can't wait? Leave the line; no money/refund issues.
On Sunrunner, Bank Tips are the norm, and how I do it, but I'm going to try to start a line system. Lines also help even out the load. If ten people have bank tipped a single doc, then another sits down, those ten have to wait. But if those ten are in line, and only the one getting buffed has paid, then they can split over the existing doctor and the new doctor, so everyone gets buffed faster and all the docs get equal business.

Guys.
You are all awesome. There are a huge amount of great tips here!
Thanks so much.
I will certainly use the vast majority in my next buffing session.

Another thing that I do is insert a /say in the macro saying something along the lines of "one more" before the final buff. A lot of times I am bored out of my mind and not paying attention. It kind of serves as a "two minute warning" for myself. Also, for the newer players who do not know that there are six total doctor buffs, it kind of helps them out there.

I personally don't buff but i have been in line for a buff, and believe me seeing a doc with a droid out doesn't mean they are buffing, and even if they are it doesn't tell you for how much. So everytime you have to send a tell to the guy... annoying. So yes you need to advertize, but I disagree that advertizing=spam. Every 30 seconds or so is plenty.

Hi this is my first reply/post hope it goes well
I sit well behind my droid and use a camera angle from the side.
This cuts out spam in vision and you can see names. clearly.
I use combat spatial and enlarge it enough so that you can see allmy enhancements used.
This also cuts out spam.
Prompt the next inline to pay/step up.
Deal with one person at a time. If people tip rush you ignore it till they are next in line.
When they moan just ask if they know about buffing etiquette ( belittle them a bit).
If its getting to much just look at a name in the que and tell them to notify all behind they are the last buff.
Even if you want to continue buffing once line has gone people will see a doc with a droid out and come a running.
I kow how had it is at first but it gets easy m8.

I changed my AFK message to read with the stats of my buffs, and in caps BANK TIP ONLY! Then set auto afk. /afk This way it helps withthe tons of tells asking how much and what are the stats. If it's a different question, you can respond if you want to. I also type the same message as a macro and put it in my toolbar, in case someone asks without sending me a tell. I've found that this is very helpful and also cuts down on the spam.

Make a macro that says your prices and stats, add not to tip till it's your turn. Make a macro that buffs all 6 stats, that way you don't have to worry about zoning out and missing one, or accidentally doing the same stat twice. They walk up, pay u, and u click a button and wait till it's over. Coronet is pretty tough for doctor's just starting out because of the fake bank tips, trying to read the straight tips on your screen etc. I say go to the dant mining outpost or even theed on a busy day and try there, shorter lines, people are not as rude, easier to manage (i.e. it's only one person out of line, instead of 3, with people constantly running through the line).

Yes and what is it with people logging right in the spot where lines form. The other day numerous bods appeared and upset my line. One brought out a av21 and it hovered there for 10 minutes. I had to move the line coz of no response to tells. Everyone gets abit gittery when a Doc stands up and walks about as it is.
And please don't post saying Docs should buff elsewhere. If the was such a place i'd be there sat on my but buffing happily til the banthas came home.

1. /notepad to keep track of customers; add their name to the bottom as they are placed in line and remove them as their buffs are completed. If you have chat copy/paste configured (in ctrl-O), this allows an easy method of letting everyone know their place in line.
2. in ctrl-p, there is an option to colorize text; colorize "has tipped you" to something like red or yellow so it sticks out
3. create a new tab by right clicking on the chat area; modify this tab and have it display only system messages (this will give you an easy place to scroll back to look for tips)
4. a buffing macro that cycles thru all the buff packs; I put my packs on the hotbar, so I can just select the next person in line and hit the macro as soon as the "you are now ready" message pops up. While the macro is running, you can chat with your customers or copy/paste the current waiting list to spatial (hint: use a /whisper)
