I've had that happen to me several times as a medic...fortunatly as a TK I can defend myself I usual knock them out cold then say before I either walk away or DB...remember you started it I was only healing the wounded.

Gotta love TKM insta heals

Luckly I am neutral and cant heal/buff overts of any sides. And player's that TEF hunt are just weak, that goes for either side. But what really get's my p*** boiling is when someone think it oh so fun to hunt and kill our paitents in the medicenters/cantinas I completely fail to see the fun in acting all strong and macho towards someone you just killed wtih the aid of 10 friends and the person was all alone.

As I was going up the Doc prof, I got a tef in the Theed Starport area. I muttered a few choice words and then just sat down. I figured if some imp was going to attack me, might as well make it clear I am not fighting but healing. I survived without incident...

well its understandable that you would help someone in need. But until you are an elite combat prof. and a master doc, you will have some issues when it comes to defending yourself. I say your intentions were good, and had you been a master rifleman and master doc, you would have easily taken out someone else. Just keep training, it'll all pay off.

I had someone pull that tactic on me the other day. They were quite surprised when I was suddenly in 90% composite and firing a particularly nasty Jawa Ion rifle to remove their mind after healing the poison they threw. After maxxing out XP, I LIVE for someone to make the mistake of jumping me. Sorry that you got beat up....pick up a combat profession to go with Doctor, and you will be much happier.

And I swear upon all that I hold dear(wicked pvp armor and a Cargo Pocket of Pre-Nerf Scatters) this oath... Only from my cold dead fingers will they take my Master Bounty Hunter title away.

I think you got lucky there - no death blow after you were incapped.

I'm new to PvP myself, traded with a mate today & did n't notice I was TEF'd, then sat down to buff someone. Whilst sitting there, droid, out, nothing but BE clothes on, half way thru the buffing, up comes an overt reb, incaps & kills me pretty much before I could stand - let alone draw a weapon or armour up.

Whose fault was that - mine - I should have paid attention & spotted I was TEF'd.

Nonetheless, it was still pretty shabby of the player who got me. I'm looking for him now of course - & when I get him I'm going to camp his cloning corpse to teach him to play in a more sporting way

I returned to the bloke I was buffing, & finished the set of buffs btw - could have been awkward if we'd been far from a cloning centre.

Iam.

Doc's take one for the team all the time. It is part of the fun of being a doc. Running up and Rezing then doing your best to get your patien and your self out alive. Man there is little I do as a doc that is more fun.

I was buffing on dath over the weekend when an overt rebel ran by getting akicking from an overt imp. So Ihit my "PvP get ready" maco(puts my armour on, equips my Jawa, hits me a Muon and Pixie etc) and DELIBERATELY whack a heal on my rebel comrade. I was then able to help take down the overt imp.

As someone mentioned, this is the GCW. While I don't PvP often I don't shy away from it in the name of supportingthe Rebel cause. My advice is just be careful who you heal...

If you don't want a TEF, don't join the GCW, period. If you heal overts, expect to get killed. Being a doctor is not an excuse to be lazy and not pay attention to who you are healing, buffing, rezzing. If you choose to get a TEF, then accept the consequences.

It's amazing how people think that just because oneof their professions is doctor, that means their other class is also a non combat class.

Well I have noticed a nice change, dont know why. But when ever I try to heal an overt of any side, I get the warning it is unadvicable to heal such a person. I am my self neutral and therefore help out both rebel and imperial alike. Everyone in my book is even.

And for you pasey(and the rest), I have seen master doc's out there that are dancers or muscians too, so yes some of the people out there helping the wounded are completely and utterly defence less against somepunks who are TEF hunting. I on the other hand is a TKM so I can defend my patients if we get under attack. But I dont participate in PvP at all if I can avoid it. Yesterday I had a blast helping out in a krayt hunting party. The only thing that "ruined" it for me was their combat medic, man I loathe them for being able to heal at distance. Hehe, no not really I just think it is a cool feature. Thinking back on the hunt yesterday I must have looked like a confused dog as I ran around healing where ever I could. Though I did get to revive one player. So now I have tried all the doc stuff and I think I will stay in that combo for a while atleast.

Facts of life. A patient is down you heal them. That's the risk of picking a side.

Ohhhh I forgot. Lets have the Doctor heal our enemy, so he can get up and blow my head off. Great idea. Please use that tactic whenever you get into a fight.

Dont you shoot that Imperial Doctor now trying to keep the guy your fighting alive...thats just wrong....

While a TEF'd Doc can be killed, and often is killed just because they are a red dot on the radar, it doesn't mean it was a good or *cough* noble thing to do. Not all MD's are also TKM's, and not all new medics are completely familiar with the TEF concept. I have seen several new medics very surprised at being killed and DB'ed while on a hunt by an imp just passing by.
