Thread: Doctors unite: Buff Price...

Now would probably not be a good time to try any price fixing. The combination of the solo group change and the upcoming combat upgrade pretty much means that prices on everything are going to be in flux. What we will probably see is an across the board slow deflation of the economy. And, its going to happen on some servers faster than others.

Now, more than ever, you really are going to have to price based around your costs and what players are willing to pay. When those combat players can no longer make a million credits in a couple of hours, they are all eventually going to start getting frugal over how much they are going to pay for buffs.

Well I disagree with the idea for setting a single price for buffs as it is a free economy and people may charge what they want. If they want to buff for free well thats their choice, and if they want to charge 100k well you get the picture.

this looks suprisingly similar to my post up top

none the less as I told you politely in our private messages NomAnor1987 I had put the price of 50k BEFORE ever hearing about the solo nerf, 50k while being able to be in a solo group is nothing, I pay docs that all the time when I'm too lazy to buff myself and ya know what? I make it back in 5 minutes I have been chargin 30k and since been getting more people in my buff line, as I posted in my post up top, some guy came in charging 6k when I was charging my prices for my buffs, my line suddenly started getting bigger than the 6k guys so he dropped his price back down to 5k and still didnt get much business, funny thing is he was doin it to be an @$$ and karma kicked him right in the @$$

justice was served on that day =D

not everyone goes out to get buffed for solo groups, I get lots of people that show up as a group talking about badge collecting or going to DWB.

not everyone can AFFORD 50k or justify the expense, thats a lot of creds.... and i can't justify charging that much to people, that's just ludicrous.

btw i LOVE your sig n0stalgia

That's as far as I got. I didn't read the rest of the post, and I didn't read the 20 or so replies. And the fact is, I don't need to because I already know everything that's been said.

This subject has been done to death so many times, the HAM bars are completely black. Every doc should feel free to charge whatever they wish for buffs without pressure from anyone else, one way or the other. If they want to charge high, players can choose not to buy a buff instead of complaining. If they want to charge low, other docs shouldn't complain either. If the doc is willing/able to cut buff prices, that is an advantage for that doc.

It's a free galaxy. Charge what you wish. Don't complain or pressure others to change their price. Live in peace and harmony.

15k should be charged for buffs from a master doc and if your not master doc and yhour buffing 22-2300's you should be charging 10-12k there is no way around that but the recent forums i have read about docs charging 50k for buffs makes me sick they made need us but we need them if there arent people willing to get buffed then there is no profit at all either way. i cant belive im saying this being a master doc myself but i hope the combat revamp changes this and makes buffs useless just so i dont have to gag everytime i see another capatlist doctor on these forums

Unfortunately, as long as there are buffs, there will always be a demand for them. Because getting buffed makes your stats boosted, there will always be an advantage to being buffed--not matter how strong they are, or how the system works. Prices may fluctuate (with the econmy and inflation/deflation), but the demand will always be there because it gives players an edge.

price fixing = bad

It really is that simple. Trying to fix prices for all servers is not at all practical. Personally, I buff for free or not at all. I have been known to buff my friends for free at busy starports just because that's where we happened to meet. If some other doc tries to tell me that I should be charging X amount, he/she is immediately added to my ignore list (has yet to actually happen). Every doc has his or her own business to run. Prices are set by the market and by the individual docs. I don't see this changing, nor should it. Competition is a good thing.

not price fixing... just a minimum price for public(you can buff friends free)... and 15k is just an idea... it could be 30k or 12k... i just think we should have a minimum price at maybe only 10k... just to make sure that everyone gets a fair chance... but i am extremely weird, so you can choose to disregard this completely...

Not price fixing? This is the exact definition of price fixing.

Not everyone gets a fair chance. Some people have sources to get their resources cheaper, and should be allowed to take advantage of it.

Price fix all you want. I'm not listening. And everyone can come to me for my 5k buffs.

I charge 15k, and that seems to be working ok for me. I only buy top of the line buffs, so 15k gets you 2598+ for 3h15m. I usually make a %60-%70 profit, not including bivoli or brandy. I think that all buffs should be charged the same regardless of stats (Being reasonable 2300-2600) Because we all spend the same amount of time, so we should all get the same.

I do not charge less than 15k, it's a complete waste of time. You might as well just log off and do something productive irl. For those of us that don't have the endless hours to gather resources and craft buffpacks, you only make about 2-3k profit for a 10k buff if you buy them from a vendor.\. At two minutes a buff, that's 60-90k an hour profit for buffing, while the people you buff go out there and make 200k in an hour you're stuck sitting on your bum buffing hours on end.

Granted these calculations are in the solo group era. Everything will change when solo groups are nerfed. I'm anxious to see what this nerf bring us doctors. Will we really get the money justification we deserve? Or will we waste our time charging 5k a buff. . . .

. . . . . . . I'm not greedy, I just like for my time to be worthwhile.
