If people ask me for buffs when I'm clearly not buffing, I just state an outrageous price like 15-20k. Most people say it's a ripoff, and I tell them that's my I'm-not-buffing-right-now price. Although some people do take it, and for that much I'll take a few minutes to buff people.

Usually when my alt gets Doctor TEF all I say is "I dont have any spare packs" which is true, they are all for me when I feel like i have time/energy to buff I wont do it for the 10k normal price.. 15k to pull out my bot. I have had people give me 20k since they want buffs "RIGHT NOW"... fine with me.. I only have been dropping the master doctor tag when I go on official hunts so that I wont get interrupted while tanking or doing doctor stuff there.

True that is harrassment, but I've never had that happen. It usually only takes a few times for them to see the word "No." and they get the point.

it's not ALWAYS a problem, once, when one of my pa members opened a new vendor, I went to coronet, not right out by the star port but about 100m away, behind one of the buildings, and had some fun. I wrote out a FULL inventory of my friends new vendor in my afk ato-re. it was about300 words long. I put up my Doctor title and went afk. I wrote some mails then loged off, but while I was on I got some VERY funny responces to my afk responces, which, of course, sent them the the whole reply agen. good times.

Well the biggest problem for me is only the spam meanwhileI buff.
Most people can read my macro when they stand right in front of me, arent able and ask on /tell "do u buff" and "how much?" Well now call me a lamer but i dont buff analphabets

The best thing u can write in ur AFK is advertisments for several people. Let urself be paid for that free nice advertisment by your local dealer, they will have the profit and will thank u. There is no need to say no, if u are buffing u are and if not your not they will see if u sit there and wait or not.

This isn't really a 'problem'. I don't like buffing at random times either, so when i'm not buffing, i keep my master doc title off.. and make myself unsearchable. Small price to pay for peace and quiet. Gotta understand that people need a doc to do just about any kind of combat.

Yesterday I was pretending to be a real doctor on an alley in Coronet, pulled out my droid and gave an entertainer (who asked) a free action buff from a buffpack B (the highest I can craft myself). A guy sees this, runs up to me and immediately asks the common question:

"ru buffing?"

I was really just doing an entertainer a favour, butI say: "Sure thing, chap. Gotta say I'm very happy to buff you! Most people just don't appreciate the power of the high quality B buffs I do!"

B quality obviously doesn't sound as convincing as I hoped, and he asks: "How much?"

"For awhopping+200 to youraction only,Imerely charge a meager sum of6k credits. Cheap as dirt!"

At this pointI just get a "lol" from the customer and he moves on. Don't get me wrong, I would've been very happy to buff him, too, but it's obvious no combat types (such as him) are looking for B buffs. Oh well, an easy wayfor a doc toget rid of a buff-mob whennotbuffing.

I don't think there is an easy way to make this go away. Regardless if you are wearing the tag or not it will be a problem. When I get tells asking for buffs, I say no. When they comeback saying "please oh please do it." I raise the price to about 20k for the buff, sometimes more depending on whats going on. The problem I get is on the rare occasion I do buff when asked I get a stream of "R U buffing" tells and questions. I could have a novice Marksman tag up as well. I even get a line forming if I even pull out a droid, just to see what I am going to do with it. I like to see them flee when I put it back into my Datapad. It's like payback for me. I know I'm cruel, but I should be able to enjoy the game like everyone else. Just because I am a master Doc, doesn't mean that I'm everyones buffing slave. Especialy when three people are buffing right next to me. Only my two cents worth.

And if you get asked by a friend for a buff in a busy place? Have them follow you to an out of the open spot, so you do not get aggroed by the mob.

I don't know exactly what you expect. People wanted doc's to be needed, now they are. People wanted doc's to have a way to make money, nowthey do. Considering you need to be buffed to minimize downtime or take on any reasonably difficultmob in the game, master doc's are now popular. If you don't like it, don't wear the title (ie don't advertise). Or maybe they could just nerf buffs to the point that nobody bothers you again.

If I say no and they keep asking I either give a price like 20k or ignore them. If anyone ever told me to come to their location and buff them I would charge like 50k... after all I am not anyone's b!tch. I understand where you are coming from though I usually have my pistoleer title up so I don't get bombarded with requests, but then again my main purpose for my master doc is to buff my grinder until I unlock (which will never happen)

The problem is that I never get asked to join a hunting group, or to go exploring. Groups want their buffs and for me to sit in the med center to heal people for free. However, this thread wasn't about people asking for buffs, it's about people that demand buffs. I've hadsomeone follow me saying, "Stop running and BUFF me". This is what has to stop. Being needed and being treated like a personal slave are different.

  • Architects are needed, does that mean that if I ask he has to stop what he's doing and make me a harvester or guild hall?

  • Weaponsmiths are needed, that means that they should stop fighting and make me a new weapon

  • Entertainers are needed, so I guess they should get to the cantina to heal my BF.

I wear my Master Doctor title proud and I will politely say to people, "Sorry, I'm not buffing right now". And 9 times out of 10 they say "OK" and let me be. I have no problems with people asking for buffs, but being a Master Doctor doesn't require me to buff or heal anyone.

I do not usually buff from money. I do my guild and any groups Iam hunting with for tips only. But everynow and then I put up the master dco tag and set my AFK message to this.

"Due to poor avian meat my current buffs are terrible. They hit for about 1990 and last for about 2.5 hours. I am currently charging 20k for a full set."

You would be suprised how many people will take me up on this horrible offer. I have a very special bag of nasty buffs set aside for the folks who want the "Special" 20k buffs.
