I’ll buff anyone it doesn’t matter to me who they are, after all I’m a healer. But the tells can be annoying, when your trying to buff people and you have to stop to answer tells. I generally will not answer tells when I’m buffing I’ll set my macro saying I’m buffing for 7k send a tell for placement only! and do not tip until I call your name out.

I agree though that if they nurf buffs for doctors being one isn’t worth the time and effort involved. Another thing I’ll do is if another doctor is buffing I’ll not set up. Without asking the other doctor first, or if there are more than enough players wanting a buff that it would warrant another doctor setting up.

Exclude doc for a second.. Can you think of a single profession who might be asked to drop what he's doing and travel off-planet to deliver his product or service?

Happens to me everyday. All to often, by "friends" who apparently think I've nothing better to do.

Next time you ask a doc to deliver a buff- offer him boffo bucks or some of that avian or herb you've been hunting. To do otherwise is just insulting.

Can't wait to get flamed by the guys who whine about 10k buffs

I don't mind doing buffs at all, as long as people have some respect. If I'm running around placing harvesters, or other such errands, I'll usually decline a tell asking for buffs. However, if someone wrote me a tell, politely asking for a buff, I'd most certainly do it, unless it's WAY out of my way. Either that, or I'll ask them to meet me where I'm headed.

I got Master Doc to make money, not for any other reason. If someone is rude, I'll still take their money and buff them. I will just charge them more.

All I ask is that you treat me with respect, and you'd be surprised how accomodating I can be.

Agreed. Can't for the life of me think why anyone would leave that checked. The only people I would be willing to rez/heal/buff who aren't in my immediate vacinity would be people who know me personally.

As for the constant /tells

Either an afk message as suggested or

/reply I'm not buffing at the moment

macro in your toolbar.

If they won't stop asking for buffs, I usually challenge them to a duel if I don't /addignore them.

That generally solves the problem one way or another

Ikrin and Nirki Sispao ~ Master Bounty Hunter/Master Rifleman/Doctor ~ ~ Flurry ~ Good...Bad...I'm the one with the gun. And I swear upon all that I hold dear(wicked pvp armor and a Cargo Pocket of Pre-Nerf Scatters) this oath... Only from my cold dead fingers will they take my Master Bounty Hunter title away.

Is it really a problem ?

People harrasing you ? --> /addignore
Don't want to travel far away for customers ? --> uncheck searchable
Don't want to be asked for buffs ? --> change your "Master Doc" title

Maybe it feels good for a few people to be the main attraction in a place where everyone is looking for a buff. But then, when you show your title, don't be surprised to see them asking for buffs. When you choose to show your title, you are supposed to behave the same way (my feeling though...).

I've been Master Doc for about 10 days now (still a beginner), and I can say I LOVE my job. I always wear my Master Doc title, and I'm proud of it. I've never refused to help a customer yet. It's a great social experience and I meet lot of interesting people like this.
A lot of people here are complaining about having to move to buff someone, about people showing disrespect. I admit this happens sometimes, but don't forget to mention the guys who come for you wherever you are, who will pay you double price before you asked for anything just because you waited 30 seconds for them.
Setting up an afk message when you are buffing IS disrespectful.

Ithasai:I don't think it's doing the work that causes Docs to get annoyed, is the way in which someone asks for our services.

Personally, as I said, I'd go out of my way for someone who was polite/cool to me.

I was at the Geo Lab buffing my guild mates, getting ready to go after the Acklay. Now keep in mind we are off to the side and almost on the other side of the cave exit, so we won't get aggroed when some comes runing out of the cave,. All of the sudden some idiot runsall the way from the cave around to where we were sitting, andwhat is trailing behindhim, at aleast 12 agros, ranging from Kikniks, to droidukas. We killed everything, but one of my guildies got killed, so i rezed him. Then this guy starts demanding that i buff him and his buddy. i laughed and said i wasn't buffing the public. At thispoint i'm sure i don't want to be in the Lab at the same time as this idiot. He keeps at it, telling me i am a doc and it is my duty. I finally I say ok, but it is gonna cost you 100k each. The guy freaks out and starts yelling at me, so one of my guildies says the price is now 120k and every time you **edit** the price goes up another 20k. The guy promptly runs off and leaves the caves, cussing the whole way about what an @$$hole i was. Needless to say he got /addignore.

I will usualy buff people in the field if im in the middle of doing it for my guldies, but we save this guys butt and he gets pissed when i don't want to buff him.

Right after all this happens a guy i had been killing geos with asks if he can get a buff eventhough he knew i had said no. He had been really nice to me while were in the cave, so i said NP. When he asked how much, i said no charge. He said thanks and proceeded to tip me 30k. I love people like that.

Geez, what a jackass. I try to figure out these people, and what they could possibly be thinking. I simply can't put myself in a frame of mind where I would think it's ok to yell at Doctors, and demand buffs. Can anyone?

On the flip side, that guy was really cool. See, that would be me, because I am sure most docs here "buff?" or "buff me" or "are you buffing". I'll usually send them a tell saying something like "Hey, I've very sorry to send you a tell to ask you this, but would you mind terribly if I could get a buff from you?". Yes, I'm that wordy! lol I just think that so many people are idiots/rude, that it's a nice change that some people are normal/considerate.

This is the position I normally take when asked for buffs and i'm not buffing.

If they are nice then I kindly respond that i'm not currently buffing. If they ask really nice then i'll just double my usual price and give them my waypoint.

If they are rude then I /addignore This incredibly usefulltoolworks everytime.

I've had similar experiences deep in the "field." When applying buffs to one of my groupmembers I was asked to buff. Considering I was itching to go fight instead of buff I was tolerant and explained that I would charge 15k for it. He said it wasn't worth it. He managed to finish that line before a Geonoshian incapped him with a Sonic Blaster. I should've backed up and let him get killed but being better than that we took out his aggressor and one of party members asked him "15k doesn't seem like too much money now does it?"

I don't see a problem with asking for buffs either. I so far have not had a person "demand" buffs from me though either. Although it would not help, it would just gaurantee them a trip to "The Bank" for more credits lol. I personally love being a Doc. I have the ability to buff myself, and others if I choose too. With these insane mobs all with 10k plus HAM and attack in groups, I'd be bantha fodder every time. Even with buffs I will still have to run and heal at times so I don't get whacked. The buffs have made this game fun, (which it hasn't been for me in a LOOOOOOONG time).

The concern of 10k per buff is rediculous. Have any of these people bought any buff packs? Have they even bought any of the comps? Oh wait, they are the ones hunting this meat or whatever, and selling it for ungodly amounts, and then getting our buffs again. I spent over 1 mil last night on buff packs. Considering I had 70k left over, buffing for 10k may be a thing of the past for me. I might as well save the buffs for myself and friends and earn cash by hunting. If it's so easy for us to habd them out, maybe they should try as well. Not to mention the foods we eat and Brandy we drink to ensure we buff to our full potential. To tell the truth, after it is all said and done, we barely break even, with just enough to ride the shuttle a few times. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

ya same here. I always write out a full question asking for buffs. Never what I usually got of "u buffing?" or "can u buff me" or (worst of all) "buffmeplllzzzz!" when I was a Doctor. Man I am missing Doctor. I dropped it for Commando after I masteredTKA and I'm having too much fun killing stuff. I think I'll have to start an alt to be a Doctor agen
