So let me get this straight. Where supposed to be happy about getting charged an arm and a leg so we can make good buff packs so we can buff YOU to go out and hunt more avian meat?
Interesting theory.

Only if no other decent avian was available in the galaxy. Still, who wants to collect meat 5 units at a time? 300 units would actually take a while to collect, especially if you can't get missions and instead have to harvest whatever spawns outside a town. Assuming 10 nunas per lair, you'd need to do 6 missions just to get 300 units.

Though of another thing... would it be more profitable to kill Nunas (or other avians) and sell the meat, assuming it is high quality avian, then to buy a buff and do some high paying missions?
At 100cpu you only need 300 units of avian to equal a 30k mission, but for the 30k mission you need a buff for 10-15k... you don't need that buff to hunt avian.

Good work bad_bad_leroy, but why don't you make a similar chart for what the buff customer should pay for a buff depending on what he/she can earn during the time buffed?
Way too many variables... that chart would probably mean that masters doing PvE should pay 200,000 for buffs, while masters doing PvP should get buffs for free. Just like when you sell someone a car you don't ask them how much money the car will make them individually, you just sell the car based on its quality.
Plus, that kind of sliding scale pricing would be determined by the customer's analysis of his own earning potential. Some doctors do that, actually, and ask that people tip what they think it is worth; similar to how many music/dance buffers collect payment.
Same here, I just likemaking charts
The price on resources doesn't effect me much since I never buy any, I get it myself or from guild mates that recieve free Master Doctor services in return.

Well that is if Nuna is on the menu, but the price doesn't drop if the avian comes from Choku's which gives about 30 units/animal.
So for Choku:
~10 animals/lair * ~30 units/animal = ~300 units = 30k + mission reward
2 missions and you have made a profit of about 60k, deducting the mission reward to pay for the shuttle ticket back and forth. If you don't happen to run into some wild whisper birds or wild choku's which will net you a little extra cash.
In short a good avian spawn on Yavin 4 will net you more then hunting Jantas on Dantooine, and you can do it as a intermediate brawler/marksman without a buff. Not counting the loot from Jantas and the occasional Crystal snake on Yavin...
Over and out...

I've seen doctors happily pay 200+ cpu for great avian meat, so what's the problem?

hey, ok, here what i did:
770 Discount Buffs - didnt sell well for 80k/set (avian costed 100 cpu)
890 Current Buffs - sell ok at 100-120k/set(avian costed 200 cpu)
933 Best buffs - 400 sets sold out in days at 150k/set, other docs charging 200k/set sold out pretty fast too.. (avian costed 300-500 cpu)
so even 770er 2100er buffswould be enough for PVE, most just want the best even at double price...thats how it works on Bria, but think that goes for all...
but i still did the most and fastest profit with the 933er..hehe shame that avian dries out.. as its nearly a year old.. grin
I'm so jealous of you non-wookiee master doctors who can achieve 12 experimentation points... I just made the best buffs of my career, 889 power 190 minutes, with my meager 10 points. They could have been well over 900 if I hadeven one more pointto use
Yes, I realize I could conceivably get to 11 points, but it's so discouraging to start out 5 points behind (sincewookiees can't wear the doctor's crafting clothing).

What do you mean an intermediate brawler or marksman can solo choku missions? i have a 0000 pistoleer and they are red cons. he has 1100 ch too.

The only benefit the extra points provides is extra power in the ABEC if you max the charges out and the ability to max the power on the buff packs while lowering the med use and providing one extra charge.

1- i harvest all my own stuff or my guildies help me
2-i dont charge for buffs, and i only buff friends and guildies
3-u are assuming that everything i use is free other than the avian meat, which its not
i also have to pay between 90-100cpu for good herbavore meat on the server
the only time i pay for meat is when its one of the best spawns ever, and when that hapens i pay through the teeth because everyone over pays. sorry but 100 cpu for herbavore meat that is harvested at 75 units per kill is insane, but people pay it, so i have to. Thats the economy. I make ZERO profit from my buffs.
Sides, any smart dr that crafts themselves knows the money is in killing rancors, jantas. or harvesting resources for people dumb enough to pay for it.
as for the 400cpu avian. it was from Talus. granted, 10-15 units per kill is annoying, but u take in about 100 units a lair. at 100 units a lair at 400 cpu thats 40000 credits per lair a harvester is making. and you cant even make one set of buffs from it. u do the math.

Er, don't tat mynocks give avian meat? Also......... in that case, people should pay 50k for a buff and be happy with it. (BTW, how do you quote posts)

I guess i have to chime in.
Bria Talus avians going rate was 200, 210 for mass bulk.. I NEVER heard 400 until i saw this thread.
As for the market value of avian, its based primarly one one thing. The guy AFK auto spamming competative rates at cornet SP Lets put it this way, if you offer me 100 CPU, and another guy is offering me 110 CPU, why should i sell it to anyone but the 110 bid? If you offer me 110 or more, ill sell it to you right then and there.
If not, ill go put it on the vendor of the guy who is. It's not meant to be mean, but for some of us, harvesting is our trade and profession. It's nothing personal, im there to make the best credit i can for my labor.
Which brings me to another point. AVIAN MEAT SUCKS! Do you guys realize how much work it is to get a 5K, or 10K stack of avian meat? Most avian meat spawns are small yeilds. Its not like going to endor and harvesting 100ish units hide or meat per kill. With that stuff i have no problem with 50 CPU or whatever, its easy to get large quanities. But with avian, were talking on the average your getting like 8, 14, 30, 40 units per kill, and thats with 100+ creature harvesting skill.
have no point, just voicing the harvesters side of this subject.

edit:
>>endor and harvesting 100ish units hide or meat per kill. With that stuff i have no problem with 50 CPU or whatever
I lied. I have expenses too, 75ish + or - 10 CPU would be a ballpark figure for that
