I am a doc, have always been, and I am looking forward for the CURB which will undoubtedly make every player's experience more exciting, and prolly make our role more interresting.
I bought a new account recently and would not have done so if the CURB did not sound as promising as it currently does.

Everyone says "wait and see" and "give it a chance". SOE has got to have the worst track record so far in regards to getting things right, why should the Cu be any different. With the time limit they have it is very clear they have little intention of making any changes do to concerns made here.
One thing I noted was that every question about "what happens to the millions of credits in CA's I gathered to make 12 point", has been totally ignored. That to me doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
I fully agree changes needed to be made to this game. Maybe the single HAM bar idea will work, maybe it will not, but they are killing professions and there is not need for that.
I will see what the Cu brings, but I can bet I will be dropping 4 accounts for something esle.
Welcome to EQ2 with a SWG cast..........

For me it's the actual mechanics changes too. Lets say that you can get the crafting line on BE with no more skill points (which I doubt). Then, exactly what the heck are we going to be crafting? There is/was never any information on this published to the community. At least you could give your paying customers (many over 2 years) the courtesy of documentation on what is going to be what.
Unless SOE has a few Barbara Eden's (dating myself) on hand, things aren't going to change from now to May.

I agree guys. im an old player also. The code is in place and not much will be changed this close to its live date... i have 3 acounts. I dont like the new ham system, doc, armor, lol i just dont like this at all.
Ill be waching to see how many leave in the first few weeks. I know this much if they turn doc into a stim machine ill dump two account first, then wait and see with my combat toon. but i fear without my crafting doc, i will lose interest fast.
good luck to all tho... no matter what game you play. tooth.

I am quite mystified at the coorespondents and others on the forum think people are overreacting. All you have to do is read the CU information, and its clear the crafting doc is being moved to BE. At best, the drafting doc tree is now on BE, but its clear also that the products to be made in post-CU do NOT provide the kind of advantage that current products do (IE, buffs, stims). The enhancers might have been the answer, but they state specifically that they aren't allowing those to have an effect greater than 20% on the target.
I am not conjecturing, just reading the CU information. Please don't tell me the information being released is good news for the doctors. It's not.
I am frankly surprised this thread has not been nerfed. Last time I posted something negative about the CU, the thread was deleted, I was banned, and they changed my user name on the forums without my permission. I am trying to figure out the "acceptable" way to feedback that the CU information is not acceptable to thousands of players, but I can't find either a forum of feedback mechanism in SOE/SWG that gets heard without me getting attacked by the moderators. Can someone please tell me where there is a place to post some negative feedback that gets heard, and I don't get in trouble? Please let me know either the web address or forum name, so I can not get in trouble again.
Regarding the use of multiple accounts to play the game, I have to agree. Right now I pay for two accounts- one for me and one for my son. Both were crafting (artisan & doc) and business type stuff, so now it looks like it might make sense to simply go to one account as a combat toon, and just loose the crafting and business stuff altogether. In the game overall, I have to say that hte changes in CU will be better for new players, because the advantages of ultra elite meds and other enhancements won't be so beneficial. This will allow the vast populace of players to be a lot more balanced. But for those of us who have played for years now, it seems small consolation to that all our efforts mean we now don't have an advantage. MAybe it will mean SWG will get lots of new players, since it will be better for them to engage, but I hope that doesn't happen at the expense of all us current players.
The alternative for all us Docs who craft is, I suppose to convert to BE, but from what I read here, most docs are not going to do that.

well it sure doesn't sound good but thats just becuase we''re comparing it to what we have now. this is how i see it
i have heard* that the CU is destined to come out in about 6 weeks, wich is plenty of time to get more detailed info from the devs.
i have heard* that any professions alterd by the CU (like doc) will get the chance to allocate thier skills elsewhere
i have heard* that BE will becomethe crafter, and doctor will become more of a in the field guy, or at least more active there
i have heard* taht everybody can use stim's
i have heard* buffs will max at about 20%
*obviously its a long ways away so this could be entirely wrong or there could be more to come that will make more sense
heres my analysis of above:
if we can allocate our skills points, and BE is the new crafter, just move doctor points into BE. "but we won't be able to buff!!!" - you say. No problem, buffs will be crappy and not sell better than stims/cures w/e.
People think its bad that everbody can heal because now docotors aren't useful. Well that may be true for healers, but as "crafting docotors" most Everybody will have to buy stims. So now your market base is huge!!!
If there are crappy buffs, there will be a high demand for healers in groups, thus high demand for Stims.
Stims post CU = buffs pre CU.
so i think taht "Healers" might get a little screwed with everybody being able to heal. But "crafting docotrs" really suffer minimal, if any damage.

The above is true for products going forward. However, I know that I will likely not be able to even break even on my stockpile of avian meat (purchased at 150cpu). If it weren't for that, I would probably be feeling a little better about this, but I am having some trouble getting over the economic impact of this announcement. I know it is my own fault, but just prior to this announcement, I invested all of my credits (and a few million borrowed from friends) on a very nice avian spawn that can compete with best of server on Flurry. I am still trying to fight my way back to 0...
Assuming that stim schematics remain the same, if I used my 150cpu avian meat as the organic component I could break even by selling them at 2082 credits each. Perhaps that is the answer. Use my avian meat as general organic material in mass stim production after the CU and hope to not get hurt too much by undercutters.
Only time will tell, because SOE is keeping their mouth shut on the details...

There were two different CU's since the Alpha testers were picked.
The first Rev still had 3 HAM bars, all of which could be healed by meds. There was no mention of crafting changes. There were no mention of buff changes though we suspect buffs would get tweaked down we had no idea to the degree.
I was very excited by the first Rev. It seemed like a great way to fix many of the issues of the current game.
We were not give any notice of the Rev2 of the CU until about a week or so before Blairs post. We were led to believe that our comments to those docs would result in changes. We were given no notice that Blair would be posting to everyone (solidifing the proposed changes). We also had no idea that none of our comments would result in any changes from the initial Rev2 documents.
Basically the Alpha "testing" consisted of them showing us documents then doing as they wanted. I can not quote on thing that was said in the CU forum that resulted in a change.
Basically I am saying, as Alpha testers, we were not impowered in any way.
